Reset, restart nothing worked. Needs much work and improvements! ### 1/5 — So unreliable *2025-05-07, version 4.03* You need to do some sort of voodoo dance to have any chance of it connecting. Once it does, it’ll probably disconnect a few days later and you have to do it again. This is a problem since I live 1100 miles away and need to be able to control the unit from afar. Cant update unless you’re connected to the same WiFi as the app. Doesn’t really help when I live 1200 miles away from where the system is located. This was supposed to be a completely remote deal. This app cost me $300 and just simply will not stay connected to my WiFi which is going to be a major problem trying to turn on the heat from 5 states away for a paying customer. Now all of a sudden with the update, the option to schedule heating operation was removed. When we try to put in the Wi-Fi password for PoolSync to connect to our Wi-Fi system, it will not let us put in a space between words. Using an underscore still does not fix the problem We have not been able to use it for at least a year. Just a waste. How can people not let people put a space in between words in a password? ### 1/5 — Issues with inputting verification code *2026-05-27, version 4.70* I’ve been trying to set up my account for two days for my new heat pump, and when the verification screen comes up to enter the code it does not allow me to type in. I will have to go out and hit the button to re-sync it. But now with this update, it won’t let me put in my Wi-Fi password. That is because my Wi-Fi password has spaces in it. Doesn’t stick to a schedule, nobody assists you, pool heater comes on randomly, not user friendly. There is nothing automatic about this automation. It’s a joke. Tried removing equipment and reinstalling (which took about 30 try’s with all the errors). It doesn’t take much to figure it out even if you have limited knowledge. I have the full automation for the chlorine and acid to keep my water balanced as well as a spa with a few other features and it gives me control over all of it. I have the spa programmed to start warming up before I get home from work so it’s hot and ready right away. It’s so much easier than having to turn valves manually to start my spa or have to test my water and try to figure out how much chlorine or acid I needed to add myself. It has taken so much of that work out of my hands and I couldn’t be happier with it. Love, love, love it!!! ### 5/5 — Improved *2024-04-19, version 3.12* This app has improved dramatically over the past year. This, combined with the new automation feature, allows me to control my valves, pool light, and VS pump without having to purchase automation controller. I'm able to easily monitor my chlorinator and heat pump. ### 5/5 — Figured Out Problem *2024-02-12, version 3.12* Ok. Last fall we could not figure out why after two years the app kept dropping the device and we couldn’t connect remotely. Evidently an app update allows you to set remote access on or off. The update must have reset remote access to Off which meant we couldn’t connect while we were in Michigan and the pool in Florida. Once we figured out what was happening we were able to turn remote access back on but only when we physically connected to the same WiFi as the poolsync hardware. Once you’re connected there are three dots in the upper right corner of the app where you can turn the setting on. ### 5/5 — Very Convenient *2023-01-07, version 3.05* Disregard previous negative reviews on this product as it has been updated many times since these poor reviews and they no longer apply. Aqua Cal’s support and response is great. Don’t hesitate to invest in the Poolsync radio. I bought the Poolsync app to run my Aqua Cal heat pump and liked it so much I bout the ChlorSync to go with it. Great products. This app allows me to connect to my heat pump and see the current pool temp. It allows me full control over temperature settings and scheduling. We can be out with friends and set the pool temp higher while out and about and come home to a pool party. It also controls my Chlorsync chlorine generator and tells me salt level and percentage of cell life remaining. ### 5/5 — Amazing after sale service *2022-11-11, version 3.02* About 15 months ago I bought an Aquacal pool heater. From day one it had a scheduling function that was easy to use and I loved it as I only swam on weekends and therefore could leave the heat off during M-W and let it warm up Th/F so that S/S would be perfect. About a month ago they revamped the app and all functionality was gone. I connected with them and they told me due to a safety update, if I made some simple modifications with parts they supplied, I would get that functionality back. The techs were AMAZINGLY helpful, and within a week I got not only the normal functionality back, the app now allows me to control other things. The first year it worked fantastic! Then a couple of weeks ago it disconnected from my pool heater and I can’t reconnect it. The error says it’s an issue with Apple and ISO but can the app do something for us Apple users? However, the esthetics are subpar and cutting edge features such as Alexa, Google, HomeKit and IFTTT integration are not available. In regard to esthetics, it needs more background color, animation / sound to indicate what’s active and a more simplified UI. All that aside, it’s the most cost effective and complete pool remote control system in the industry.
