### 4/5 — Good

*2026-08-12, version 1.9.18*

I learned that cheese blocks me up! Every day that I have cheese I either have type 1 or 2 so now I’m on a cheese withdrawal and my gut health has been amazing!

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2026-08-02, version 1.9.18*

I’ve been using for a short time so cannot definitively say my opinion but so far it’s working nicely

### 4/5 — Worked for a while, then….

*2026-06-08, version 1.9.17*

Now a white screen with spinning circle of death…

### 4/5 — It’s really good!

*2026-05-16, version 1.9.16*

It would s a very good app, I just wish plus was cheaper.

### 4/5 — Easy to track

*2026-03-30, version 1.9.14*

Really easy to track bowel movements. There is a lot that is locked behind a pay wall. It’s quick and easy to document and does the job for me.

### 4/5 — Great with some improvements needed

*2026-03-28, version 1.9.14*

Overall the app is simple to use and has a lot of great features, even with the free version. I decided to subscribe to get access to medication tracking however this feature needs two main improvements. 1) it doesn’t reset each day. If you log your meds on Monday, they still show as taken on Tuesday. 2) please add medications taken to the activities on the calendar view. I’d like to be able to click on a day and see everything that happened that day in one place.
I canceled the free trial because of this but would resubscribe if these features are implemented.

### 5/5 — Easy and helpful

*2026-03-15, version 1.9.13*

Has helped me track and it’s extreme easy to use. Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-03-15, version 1.9.13*

Might get the paid version at some point. But app doesn’t keep pushing for it. Which I appreciate

### 4/5 — Good

*2026-03-05, version 1.9.11*

Great for keeping heath updates

### 5/5 — A window into my GI

*2026-02-26, version 1.9.10*

This app has been extremely helpful on my journey toward better gut health, 10/10 recommend!!

### 4/5 — One Thing Missing

*2026-02-21, version 1.9.9*

I wish there was a way to track medication, fiber supplements, Miralax, etc…

### 5/5 — Regular now!

*2026-02-11, version 1.9.9*

I swear just start using the app and it’s like your brain will help you regulate your system from consistently logging when you go. I used to go inconsistently every 3-4 days and wondered what was wrong with me. When I downloaded this app, I logged when I would be able to go and within a week (I haven’t changed anything about my diet or supplements) my system regulated to what it was back before I had Covid 5 months ago and now it’s every day! I love this app and will continue to use it ❤️

### 5/5 — Great & inconspicuous

*2026-02-10, version 1.9.9*

I’m enjoying this app. I’m on the free version and I like how it will have reminders and support tools such as the belly massages. The push notifications are inconspicuous, but I get a kick out of sending badges to friends and the ability to post about it. I don’t think I get too many notifications, and the options are nice when you log. Great way to learn more about your gut health with just a few taps of the screen.

### 5/5 — Really love it!

*2026-02-04, version 1.9.9*

As someone who loves tracking data (but wants simplicity), I love this app over Plop. It’s intuitive, creative, and simple. I really wish there was a lifetime version for like $50!

### 5/5 — I loveeeee

*2026-01-31, version 1.9.9*

10/10

### 5/5 — Clear and Concise

*2026-01-31, version 1.9.9*

Straight forward and exactly what I needed.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Subscription

*2026-06-07, version 1.9.17*

They give you a free trial but no warning it is over and tip you straight into a subscription😡

### 1/5 — Paid app

*2026-02-21, version 1.9.9*

This app requires that you create and account and once you do, tells you about the paid subscription to use it. I don’t like when apps do this as I would rather not provide my information to companies when not necessary since I won’t be using this app. If you have to pay to use it, that should be clearly advertised before downloading.

### 1/5 — Too busy

*2025-12-09*

As a gastroenterologist, I was looking for an app I could confidently recommend to my patients for tracking symptoms and treatment response. Unfortunately, this app isn’t suitable for that purpose. The frequent pop-ups prompting upgrades make the experience feel noisy and distracting. In addition, the bar charts are not visually intuitive and don’t clearly display weekly and monthly trends, which are critical for monitoring GI symptoms over time.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback, especially from a gastroenterologist’s perspective!

Right now in Balloon all the essential features are totally free. You can log your poops in detail (type, color, size, photos), see your poop charts, download the gut health PDF, and follow the guided belly massages without paying anything. The upgrade prompts are only for the more advanced features like food logging and deeper analyses, which are there for people who want to go a little deeper and really build long-term gut health habits at their own pace.

Your feedback on chart clarity is very valuable, and improving weekly and monthly trend visualisation is already on our radar! We're continuously refining the app so it can be more useful for both patients and clinicians 🧡

### 1/5 — Buona premessa ma…

*2025-07-21, version 1.9.0*

### 1/5 — Not Free $60/yr

*2025-07-01, version 1.8.9*

It’s hard to find a free app or a affordable app these days while everyone hides behind “in-app purchases”. Apple doesn’t offer or force any transparency with app developers and this can waste your time. So for those looking for something simple to track their stools, understand this app is $60 a year and requires a subscription. This will hopefully save you the time of downloading.

### 1/5 — Require account

*2025-06-25, version 1.8.9*

There is no option to use the app without creating an account.

### 1/5 — Very sketchy app

*2024-09-29*

You must create an account to use this app or you can’t even get past the first screen. Also, the privacy policy for the account you have to create is wildly different from the privacy policy presented on the App Store page. Here’s an excerpt:

“We will collect the information you provide about your health and wellness as you use our Products or engage with the Services.”

Not exactly something I want to see from this type of app. I’m sure the devs will respond explaining how this data collection is harmless, but I actually only want to know one thing… if it’s no big deal why don’t you disclose it on the App Store? Cuz right now it seems like the whole app is structured so as to hide the real data collection practices

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback, and you’re absolutely right to expect transparency. I’ve now updated the App Store privacy section so it fully matches the in-app privacy policy. Really appreciate you pointing this out—it’s important to us that users know exactly how their data is handled.

### 2/5 — Requires account creation before telling you the price

*2026-04-18, version 1.9.14*

Requires account creation before telling you the price

### 2/5 — Used to be good

*2026-01-31, version 1.9.9*

Absolutely loved this app when I first found it months ago (not sure how long I’ve had it tbh, awhile) but now it feels like you have to pay the subscription for literally everything. Just to check your monthly calendar!!! Basically not a free app anymore 😒

### 2/5 — Not Really Free - Pricey Pro Version

*2025-12-04, version 1.9.6*

This is by far the best looking and feeling tracker app, but is it really free when you can’t use half the features and the cost of the premium is so high for an app? You can’t log the food or symptoms without purchasing which is a huge part of tracking IBS. If they bring the cost down for premium, I can see this being very useful.

*2026-06-05, version 1.9.17*

### 5/5 — Helped track my constipation!

*2026-05-22, version 1.9.16*
