Pop3Count can answer these questions for you. It is a simple application which can interrogate POP3 email accounts and display how many small, medium or large emails are waiting to be downloaded. The results are displayed in on big friendly counter displays. Pop3Count will periodically update the selected account. 

Pop3Count displays a progress bar to indicate when the next poll will occur. There is an audible alert for when new emails are detected. 

Pop3Count can also display the number of bytes to be downloaded. It can support upto 3 accounts. The application downloads the size of each email and places them in to the one of three size bands, small,less than 10Kb, medium, 10Kb to 1Mb, and large, greater than 1Mb.
