It is a new app, unproven track record, the company has no dedicated website, for that type of money will they continue to upgrade the thing? They have nothing establish so they could disappear tomorrow. I don’t think so… I’d be insane to pay what they are asking... ### 5/5 — Photos & Social: IMPROVED *2015-06-13, version 3.0.1* Yes. Thanks for improving the image resolutions - photos are everything to me. My social media accounts are working better within the app as well. ### 4/5 — This app is a god send *new review lowered a star* *2015-05-04, version 3.0* No longer do I have to keep all my ideas in separate places, and no longer is the process a huge process that takes me a lot of time to bring together. If I have an idea, I take a pic, make a pop board for the pic, and immediately write a note with it. So pics, notes, documents all go together. Lovely. WE NEED: Ability to access all files within a tile. I added a photo to a notes only file but can't access it past the note. Voice memos! ### 5/5 — Awesome is an overused word... *2015-05-03, version 3.0* but there is no better description for this app. This app has transformed my teaching. Before PopBoardz, I was frustrated having to continually switch between apps to project multimedia from my iPad - PowerPoints, video clips, worksheets, websites, images. Not only downtime for class, but confusing having to find each app in sequence. PopBoardz allows me to organise the items in sequence and move flawlessly and almost instantly between them. I loved the additions in the previous version of being able to "stack" images within a tile, and being able to move items from one tile to another has also proven handy. While PopBoardz is my "can't live without" teaching tool, my students use PopBoardz to compile and present their PBL completed work; they have also met with excitement the additions in this version of the facility to compile boards on the Mac and to capture images and video directly. (I suspect a lot of fake reviews keeping the high rating...) ### 5/5 — Greatest app ever *2015-05-01* I have been in the marketing and advertising industry for a very long time. I have used a variety of different applications and tools for presenting ideas and strategies. This is by far the best tool in my digital toolbox. It can allow me to switch from a presentation in mid stream to present additional materials, videos photos, charts, etc. something you can't do with PowerPoint or keynote. Best of all it's simple to use by someone who lacks the technology skills to turn on a light. Seriously, this will enable me to make a far better presentation not to mention be able to make changes simply and easily. Thanks Popboardz!!! ### 4/5 — Storyboarding *2015-05-01, version 3.0* I'm a storyboard artist and PoPboard works great to add images. It's not 100% storyboard ready but hoping to see future updates with the ability to have text show under the image for descriptions plus printable options. That would be awesome! Either way dig the app so far. ### 5/5 — First time user... *2015-05-01, version 3.0* Popboardz is a convenient way for me to access my CRM, files, products, and trainings I use on a daily basis in the mortgage industry. UI is very simple and not much of a learning curve. I will definitely recommend this APP to others in the industry! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — When did this change? *2019-04-25* When did this change to you have to register to use it? I got this a long time ago...maybe when it first came out? I had used it a couple times for some notes and such. Haven’t used it for a bit, Had something I thought would work great and went to use it and can’t do anything unless I log in...register....really?? Why should I log in or register just to put some ideas down for my own use? NOT!!! What BS. ### 1/5 — Fake reviews *2018-06-06, version 3.2.0* Stay away!! Was good initially. Then they got greedy and decided to force new rules. Users are now required to get an account to see their own boardz. They gave no warning and no options. Why? Because to get an account you need to accept the new license that gives them rights to use your images and boardz. This is ridiculous and impossible to accept for anyone who tries to use this for a business or research. Recent versions downsampled the images and boardz already stored. Stay away!! Not worth the money or the time ### 1/5 — What a great idea *2018-04-14* Man I wished this app worked. The concept is great, user-interface looks intuitive and easy to use. I can’t swipe through slides. Videos play 0.05 seconds before abruptly ending. On its basic level, the app doesn’t work. But if it did... I pay a fee without hesitation. ### 1/5 — Dissapointing *2015-09-05, version 3.0.1* As reviewers of previous version have noted, it looks like a good idea. Unfortunately it's not really useable yet. It claims to import video, but when trying to import from camera roll, no videos are shown. Export of board also failed. I tried to export to Dropbox. It showed a progress bar but nothing appeared in Dropbox. Maybe it just doesn't work with IOS 8. ### 1/5 — Expensive *2015-06-23, version 3.0.1* The cost of unlocking unlimited exports is insanely expensive. ### 1/5 — Terrible App, Lousy Performance, and Fake reviews *2015-05-26, version 3.0* This app is so poorly designed that it is totally useless. Not worth downloading, not worth your time to even attempt to use. Very little works as advertised, no editing possible, the background options are way off from a visual perspective. The logo placement is ridiculous and works inconsistently. I can't imagine paying for additional functions because it is highly unlikely that they won't work either. Stay away from this app, stay far away. ### 1/5 — Bad Integration *2015-05-15, version 3.0* The iPad app does not sync well with the new Mac version. I have been unsuccessful at opening a PopBoard on iPad that originated on my Mac. In cases where I have been able to share a file from iPad to Mac, PopBoardz won't open Website URLs. The app is too buggy for general use between desktop and iOS devices. ### 1/5 — Great Fake Reviews Written *2015-05-09* Saw this app and thought the description was interesting and I'm always trying to find creative and convenient ways to do mood boards for my clients....not to mention all the great reviews. Got the app and totally disappointed. I don't know about other people who use apps for their business, but reviews are a good indicator if I'm going to purchase an app. Reading the "LEGIT" experience of other users is important to me to see if its a waste of my time and effort downloading something I'll end up erasing when I could be enjoying a real app. Shame on me for not looking at little more closely at the reviews to notice that not one, not two, but almost all of the reviews were written in a 2 day span and then zip after that. It's great that whoever created this app had that love and support of your friends and family, but for people like me who really need apps like this and actually look forward to seeing how it can enhance your business, only to download it based of the reviews i read and realize it was complete waste of time with a good amount of fake reviews is disappointing. Please create app worth looking at, WIthout having to create fake reviews, Its annoying, ### 1/5 — Half baked *2015-05-06, version 3.0* This may be a good app when complete but in its current incarnation appears a proof of concept more than anything. Accordingly can't hate it. That said there is nothing to love here. Deleted. ### 1/5 — Nice Idea Horrible Execution *2015-05-04, version 3.0* I am a creative director. I create storyboards and client presentations, and unlike the fake reviews, I find this app poorly thought out and impossible to use in any real life scenarios. Too bad, I was very excited about it. It's such a good idea but sadly is another example of the proliferation of useless, half thought out apps. A case of half-baked iterations, launch anyway, and flop. It's this kind of waste of talent and money that's creating a tech bubble. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best organizing app *2024-02-27* I have been using Popboardz for many years. It is, simply, indispensable for power users on the ipad. On any project, when I need documents together and accessible, this app is what I use. When I’m teaching, the class syllabus, student roster, main assignments, lecture notes are all in one place to see and switch between. Even videos I am showing or powerpoints are easy to have available on one page. If you have a project with multiple separate documents that you need access to on your ipad, I haven’t found anything as efficient and intuitive as this app. ### 5/5 — Love this app *2023-07-17* This app gets used probably more than any other app I have. It’s great for video. It’s great for music. It’s great for websites. It’s great for anything. Love it! ### 5/5 — Ignore bad reviews *2020-11-05* I’m a long time user. A lot of the bad reviews focus on the pricing structure, which changed—but then changed back. Underneath, this is a great app. It gives you a “bulletin board” with pigeonholes that take virtually any kind of content that the iPad can display. There is some ability to modify the look & feel. I use it for quick reference, storing things like bus schedules, instructions and lists that I use regularly. For me, the visual layout and the way I can rearrange the pigeonholes makes finding things fast and easy. Now offered for free is the ability to embed boards into other boards. That way the top board can be a dashboard organizing even more content. Right now what I’m doing is too simple to need that, but I think I can imagine use cases for the future. ### 5/5 — Great App *2019-03-22* This app is extremely useful, and simple.
