If I’m connected to an agency it doesn’t show sometimes… lastly, I had to play with the filters when I first downloaded this app just to find available events in my area. Otherwise there was no listings ### 2/5 — Search option fail *2024-06-14, version 3.7.2* The search options and sort options do not work. Don't appear and if they do and you select them it just turns to zero results which is definitely incorrect. Everytime a new job is loaded i have to spend time scrolling searching to figure out which one it is ### 2/5 — App does not work even when updated. *2024-05-17, version 3.7.2* This app has serious problems that desperately need to be fixed, such as blank screens, not allowing to search and connect to companies to book work, even on the pc it does NOT function well. Horrible and NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP!!!!! ### 3/5 — New *2024-03-06, version 3.7.2* So far, the app moves very slow. It takes forever to load and shows the same jobs every time I reload. I’ve booked one job, waiting to see if it’ll go through smoothly. I’ve updated the newest version and it made it more glitchy. Always loading and the calendar details tab never works for me. I have the newest iPhone so I know it’s not my phone. Seems like they need a better app developer. ### 2/5 — Bugs in app *2023-11-22, version 3.6.5* Every time I click on the booking tab the app shuts off. Everything else works fine. ### 3/5 — So Buggy *2023-11-16, version 3.6.5* I rated three stars instead of one or two stars because SOMETIMES it works. I have clients who use this app and have requested I use it too. It crashes ALL THE TIME. I can’t even log in to the desk top version on my Mac. -If the app shows several job posts and I apply for one job, all the other job posts disappear. -If a client sends me a message on the job board it is impossible to respond: my responses won’t send. -When I try to use it to check in to a job or check out, about half of the time, I can’t do either. At the time of this review, I have just deleted the app and am reinstalling it hoping that I will be able to respond to the email alert I received from a client. The app, once again, just crashes every time I open it. The desktop version won’t even let me sign in. Fingers crossed this most recent re-install will allow me to respond to a client regarding upcoming work. ### 2/5 — Poor Experience *2023-11-09, version 3.6* Poor interface that only works intermittently. I have an iPhone Pro 14 and it has constant issues. Buttons don’t properly work, such as “Submit Application” and connecting w/ agencies can be a hassle. Drop down menus may or may not show options or be completely blank. ### 1/5 — I never get hired *2023-10-21, version 3.6* Ion know why. I used to get events when the app was called BOOKEDOUT years ago. But I guess my page is being shipped over regularly to the point where Ive just given up on expecting any work. Im a 29, professional handsome black male with brand ambassador experience through Gatorade. I would like to rate this app fairly but someone isn’t allowing equal opportunity. Either them or their clients. ### 1/5 — Not user friendly *2023-10-03, version 3.6* Not only do the jobs take forever to load and to decline ones you don’t want to work but there is no way to decline or unconfirm a booking. I was confirmed for a booking without being contacted by the agency to reconfirm that I was still available. Unfortunately I had accepted another booking for those dates the day before and being a BA who applies for multitudes of jobs it’s not possible to immediately unapply for everything else whenever I get booked for an event. There was no way to decline the event on Popbookings and write in a message explaining the situation. No direct contact info was listed for the booker nor is there a way to direct message them in the app. The only way was three dots on the booking page that went to the chat for the event. Of course they didn’t see this message and when I finally found a direct email 2 days later the agency was unhappy with me and treated it like I cancelled on them when I was never available and tried to contact them the entire weekend. This is completely unfair and I’ll probably never get booked again with this company when I feel I did nothing wrong. All because Popbookings doesn’t give an option to decline or cancel a booking and doesn’t have a way to easily get in direct contact with a booker. That way I could have immediately let them know. It’s all just very impersonal and not user friendly. ### 1/5 — Stop pushing apps on people! *2023-06-22, version 3.6* These apps are more of a headache than they’re worth. Considering I still have to email and txt bookers/team leads/managers for each event I now also had to deal with appeasing this finicky app or I’m threatened with not getting paid for the work I’ve done. ### 1/5 — Payment issues *2023-06-12, version 3.6* This app does not pay you. I am still waiting for payments. The recruiter does not pay. ### 4/5 — The app does help *2023-05-17, version 3.5.14* At this point the app before I wasn’t getting a single bit of work I wasn’t getting nothing now I’ve gotten about two gigs in one month and getting more. They’re all not in New York City but they’re in New York State which is good White Plains I took a trip to Jersey not bad just make sure the app is getting you jobs that you can travel to close to you in New York or wherever you are but if you’re driving and you’re grinding this app is for you the jobs that they have you can do you wanna make some extra cash I say, take it.. you don’t want any extra cash you want to just cruise by and use this for basic income don’t do that this is only for gigs that are here now and going ### 2/5 — App is not working *2023-04-28, version 3.5.14* I can’t complete my profile since every time I want to register my birthday it doesn’t allow me to change the dates nor go forward. I already asked for support but didn’t get any reply. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Too glitchy, needs a fix *2024-08-19, version 3.7.2* PopBookings App is too glitchy now and needs to be updated without the bugs. There have been messages stuck in my app for over a year I still can’t access and it only shows me my bookings for half of a second until it disappears. Can’t confirm or view bookings that won’t show in the app. Also a lot of these bookings are underpaid. Getting offered $28/hr for a job that should be at least $40/hr, and accepting bookings that lie about the pay and want to pay you less after. ### 1/5 — Extremely Buggy *2024-07-08, version 3.7.2* As of 07.08.24 the PopBookings App has been extremely buggy for at least 6 months. Bookings and invitations do not appear on the booking page. Direct messages are impossible to send. Confirmed jobs do not show up. The app is in dire need of an update for the current iOS. ### 1/5 — App Needs A Lot Of Work *2024-06-26, version 3.7.2* I’ve been using PopBookings to apply for gigs for about 2 years now because all of my agencies use the platform. However, the app and the website both need some serious updating. I’d log on the app, and it will tell me no jobs are available…the app would send me a notification about a job invite from my agency and when I log in on the app…no listings are posted. No job invites. Nothing. It’s honestly very annoying and frustrating. This app has the potential to be a great platform, but it’s so faulty it makes you not even want to use it. Please fix the app. Please. ### 1/5 — Outdated - do not recommend *2024-05-22, version 3.7.2* I have used this app for over six years and it has always been a frustrating experience. The only reason I keep it is because unfortunately companies keep using it as a platform to book Brand Ambassadors and gigs alike. It is extremely outdated, there are always glitches and it is super slow to load whether you are on WiFi or not. I wish the app developers would spend more time making it a user friendly experience, it seems like they never bother to test the consumer side of the app because everyone I talk to about this app in the industry agrees that it is not a great app to use. They also charge marketing agencies to use the app, and then also take a % of your pay without you knowing when you book a gig through the app. While the app may be free to use, they are taking money out of your pockets each time you book an event on the app. This is not disclosed information. ### 1/5 — Can’t use the app *2024-05-07, version 3.7.2* I can’t even use the app because it won’t let me get past the gender and DOB screen. There is no next button to proceed after selecting gender and entering DOB. I’ve redownloaded the app several times, same issue. ### 1/5 — Horrible customer service *2024-04-19, version 3.7.2* Can you even talk to a real person? Their “customer service” is an ai that only always you to respond with preselected options. If you issue isn’t one of the preselected options, tough luck. Does it at least along to you say that your issue wasn’t resolved & you’d like to talk to a real person? Nope. It ends the chat. I’m using this platform for booking gigs with a single company & I'm frankly thinking about just not working with this company anymore so I don’t have to deal with PopBookings. I constantly get recruit emails for companies I have no interest working with because they have nothing to do with what my work is. Is there an option to opt out of receiving these emails? Nope. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2024-01-27, version 3.7.2* I have had to already remove and redownload the app because it was glitching.
