### 2/5 — Misleading Signup Experience

*2026-08-16, version 0.41.2*

Very misleading onboarding experience. At the beginning of the app, I was shown messaging that made it seem like I would be able to get my eSIM and get started right away. I went through the entire setup process, entered my information, selected the countries I planned to use the service in, and then was told that Popcorn is still in alpha and that users are being added gradually.

If access is currently limited, that should be made clear before taking users through the entire signup process and giving them the impression that they can activate the service immediately.

I specifically downloaded this app because I need a global eSIM and phone service right now because I’m currently traveling outside of the country. Finding out at the very end of the signup process that I can’t actually use the service right now was extremely frustrating and felt like a complete waste of my time.

Please be more transparent about availability upfront.

### 5/5 — Makes life so much easier

*2026-07-27, version 0.41.0*

Popcorn gave me security in communication while things around are constantly changing. It’s unbelievable how much easier life is when you can just call anyone, use internet without any problem, don’t need to worry about loosing phone number, etc.

Popcorn saved my communication with granny from russia, she can’t use internet and now i just call her and we talk, before it was a nightmare, thank you guys, i love your product

### 5/5 — Way better Italy coverage than T Mobile

*2026-07-26, version 0.40.13*

Traveled with my wife, both with T-Mobile but me with popcorn. I would have internet everywhere. She wouldn’t. Eventually bought for her also.

### 5/5 — Switched from Google Fi

*2026-07-25, version 0.40.13*

Switched from Google Fi and have not looked back. Works great. Fair terms of service and great customer support the one time I needed it.

### 5/5 — Great customer service

*2026-07-24, version 0.40.13*

I have been using popcorn across several countries in Europe and Africa and find it very convenient. In addition, the customer service has been exceptional. I definitely recommend
it over the many Esims on the marketplace

### 5/5 — A slow traveler’s dream

*2026-07-21, version 0.40.13*

I travel internationally all year long, stay in accommodations with terrible wifi and still have to make calls stateside and in the countries I travel in. Then I want all my phone apps and browsing to work flawlessly.

One thing the other eSIM companies don't tell you is they're only selling you data, not voice. To use your US- based voice line with international data roaming turned on or an expensive travel plan feature is financially unsound. Change a country and data rules and availability also change, as does quality of the connection in many less-developed regions.

For one monthly price, you set up Popcorn once and forget it. You call stateside from across the world like it’s a local call. Same when calling any country from your US-based phone. No headaches, no mental gymnastics calculating how much data you have left and how to add more minutes to it.

Once Popcorn is turned on, it just works and works great: for calls and apps and browsing. To me, it’s peace of mind, whether I'm in cosmopolitan Kuala Lumpur or a deep rainforest in Indonesia. It just works, piggybacking onto already established local networks.

Before Popcorn, there was anxiety and frustration travelers and expats do not need. Their phone is their lifeline and when there’s no signal, that’s a crisis. After Popcorn, those frustrations are gone and I can focus on more meaningful things…like traveling!

### 5/5 — Fully satisfied

*2026-07-20, version 0.40.13*

Easy and reliable to use. Responsive tech support, excellent technical assistance whenever needed.

### 5/5 — INCREDIBLE

*2026-07-19, version 0.40.13*

I really needed this because Google fi has a limit abroad and we’re moving to Colombia for about a year. The support is STELLAR. Instant reply, helped at every step.

Moving my wife to the plan as well.

### 5/5 — Loving it

*2026-07-19, version 0.40.13*

I started off with the free trial in Germany and France and it worked great. I have since dropped Verizon and use Popcorn as my mobile phone provider exclusively. Live in Maryland, United States.

### 5/5 — I wish we had done it sooner!!

*2026-07-14, version 0.40.13*

We LoveLoveLove our connection and the great service provided by popcorn. We spent way too much money on eSIM apps (so expensive), actual data eSIMS and services and then over $300 a month for our ATT lines in the US with Intl day pass charges, just so we could still get Two Factor Authorization codes which added $180 per month to our “regular” lines and preserved our US numbers. Our new connection is stronger and it was the easiest transition ever. Customer service is great and everything moves along in real time. I highly recommend Popcorn and look forward to giving their service a good workout.

### 5/5 — Excellent support

*2026-07-13, version 0.40.13*

I have been using Popcorn Mobile for about 5 months now and their service across different countries has been superb with no issues in the US, UK, India, the Middle East etc. But the reason I am writing this is because of the excellent support that they provided me when I accidentally deleted the eSIM. This happened about 10 pm Arizona time and it was resolved by midnight. Popcorn is not a major company with customer support staff across different time zones - but they resolved my issue within 90 minutes of my message to them.

### 5/5 — They saved me

*2026-07-12, version 0.40.13*

I just like to say that they work with me until they got it right

### 5/5 — Working as promised

*2026-07-12, version 0.40.13*

I purchased in the Philippines now I'm back in the states for a few weeks working perfect

### 3/5 — Don’t believe it’s as seamless as they tell you

*2026-07-08, version 0.40.13*

I got this plan after much hoopla and I’m traveling for a few months outside of the United States. It took two days to install because it kept getting errors. Now that it is installed you get all these confusing things like there is a new cell phone number for data that I don’t know. And calling in the US a lot of my phone calls fail and have to retry, and then you have to choose which phone number you want to use, which is a hassle —the proof will be when I am in Thailand and in Romania later next month. I hope I don’t get charged automatically by AT&T for roaming Which was my previous plan. I will update my review after I get back from my international travel. If it doesn’t work or I get any hassle, I will cancel the whole darn thing.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-07-06, version 0.40.13*

Game changer

### 5/5 — China, South Korea, USA

*2026-07-05, version 0.40.13*

The phone works in Dalian, China, BUT because of the firewall, you will need a VPN to access the Popcorn app. It still allowed me to text, call, and use Bing without a VPN though (couldn’t use Google or Safari). This also worked in Seoul, South Korea and in multiple states in the US. I had similar coverage from when I used other carriers in the US and Seoul. If I try in other countries, I’ll update my review when possible :)

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2026-07-05, version 0.40.13*

I just switched to Popcorn. I’m moving overseas from the US. This is my 7th international move and this is definitely the easiest time I have had figuring out phone service. It’s always been the thing I’ve dreaded. Especially now with so many MFAs and aging parents who need easy ways to reach me.

Setup was easy and when I struggled, customer service was quick and responsive. The best part is no longer having the array of SIM cards taped in the back of my phone case. It’s only been one day but I’ll try and remember to update when we see how it works in my new home.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Alpha mode for over a yesr

*2026-08-07, version 0.41.0*

I have tried to try this service for over a year. Always puts me on a waiting list as they are "testing". Apple should remove thid app for deceptive practices to obtain information that is probably being sold. BEWARE! If it sounds to good to be true.... it is not!!!

### 1/5 — They will ruin your vacation. I got a surprise, huge data roaming Bill.

*2026-07-17, version 0.40.13*

I got this plan after much hoopla and I’m traveling for a few months outside of the United States. It took two days to install because it kept getting errors. ### 1/5 — Keeps taking money; no customer support.

*2026-07-08, version 0.40.13*

App support useless. Can't transfer esim to new phone; after 3 months of issues and not being able to use the app thru address still trying to charger $69 a month. Total scam!

I have emailed you multiple times. I track them, they’re opened and read and you haven’t responded to my last 5 emails. But still, charging me $60 every month for nothing.

### 1/5 — App Glitch!

*2026-06-18, version 0.40.11*

Your app is very glitchy, I just signed up installed my eSIM and not it says set a login password i set one and the next page says confirm it and then i do and it says invalid code ?! That’s just weird and annoying

### 1/5 — Garbage company

*2026-05-13, version 0.40.4*

They canceled my plan, it’s not unlimited like they advertised

### 1/5 — Painful set up and when I got overseas: I COULD NOT MAKE A CALL. I am furious.

*2026-04-14, version 0.39.4*

Horrible . STAY AWAY! At this point I am about to contact the FCC & FTC. I am so disappointed, they promised everything, but I get to my destination, and the app does not let me make a call. Even their dialer screen is so bad the Calling button is off the screen. Terrible. I am FURIOUS

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-03-15, version 0.37.2*

$69 is over priced and 50gb is the max you can use. Hard pass.

### 1/5 — The set up is painful.

*2026-03-15, version 0.37.1*

I have not left the USA and I am experiencing no security SMS txt verifications because of #PopcornMobile

I’ve lost $ as I switched.
- I have tried since 2:2k0pm till now 9:28pm and I have NO WORKING PHONE. ($200/day lost because of Popcorn)
- It took til 8am the next morning to get someone who could help me activate the phone.
- YOU/ we (the customer) is expected to miss SMS Txt verifications from your apps like AirBnB and others.

- It is a solution for travel, according to developer(who is asking to change my rating, I did down to 1)

- We’ll see if it works when I get there.

### 1/5 — Not a good service

*2026-02-10, version 0.36.8*

The eSIM never installed on my phone, though I received the notification that it had installed AND activated. I attempted to contact customer service and have received no response from them. I attempted AGAIN to install the eSIM, only to receive a notification that the code was no longer valid, and to contact the carrier. Of course this is AFTER I have already paid for the service. I have used many esims and have never experienced anything like this. This is very disappointing, hopefully this will be resolved.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-01-28, version 0.36.5*

These other reviews are fake.
They just collect your personal information then tell you it’s “still in alpha”.
No plans or options offered. You just gave them all of your information.
Can’t believe Apple allows this type of thing.

### 5/5 — Awesome

### 5/5 — Excellent Service All Around

*2026-07-31, version 0.41.0*

We just moved from the US to France. We switched to Popcorn about a month before we moved. Tech support was amazing during set up and user errors as we learned the new platform (practically instantaneous responses!). Zero issues in the US in terms of the phone/internet service. Once we got to France, we had to reach out to tech support as some glitch happened crossing over. Again, fantastic support and everything is working great. Love the simplicity of it all.

### 5/5 — Flawless service

*2026-07-31, version 0.41.0*

Love it so far! I started using Popcorn one week ago just before leaving the US for Thailand. I’ve had zero issues so far. It just works. My signal is rock solid everywhere in Chiang Mai. If it’s this good in other places, it’s a game changer.

### 5/5 — Great Cust Support
