It doesn’t remember settings, and it takes multiple tries before it will turn the lights on and off ### 2/5 — Bummed *2026-01-29* What a bummer! I really wanted to love these lights, and be able to recommend the product of a queer and women led company to others. I bought them about 6 months ago and have given them a solid chance but they’re just not hitting the mark (especially for the price). They don’t get very bright and the battery dies quickly. The app hardly ever connects to both lights right away. It’s a bit of a pain everyday to open the app, navigate to the “adjust settings”, cross my fingers and hope that it connects to both of my lights instead of one. Sadly, it just never does. :( ### 2/5 — App a bit janky *2026-01-22* I second some other opinions that it's one more step than necessary to control the lights. When you buy wireless lights for the convenience of controlling them remotely that's a big deal. Additionally I find it overall to be a bit clunky, slow etc. It doesn't always find the lights (may have more to do with the actual light and Bluetooth but still), and when grouping them often does not control them together which defeats the purpose. ### 2/5 — Easy to fix *2026-01-13, version 1.0.6* This app would be so easy to fix. Please just fix it. ### 2/5 — Boo *2026-01-10, version 1.0.6* This app works but it is not intuitive and takes longer than necessary(too many steps) to turn lights on and off ### 2/5 — It works, but is not well thought out *2025-12-19* The app does what it was meant to do, but it makes turning on and off the lights an extra step too long. In other lighting/ control apps you could just tap on the picture if the light to turn it on and off. But here you have to go into the individual light settings to turn it on and off. This app is for convenience and for some reason they want to make it as inconvenient for you as possible. I love the lights and the app has potential, but you guys (gals) need to fix this. ### 2/5 — Cute, but not really functional *2025-11-29, version 1.0.6* All the things other reviews say about the laughably poor app, plus the fussy touch control on the lamp, are correct. Sconce looks charming, but it’s such a pain to turn on and off that I find myself just navigating the hallway where it lives in the dark. And given how short battery life is, assuming the next app refresh encourages me actually to use the light more, I hope I get better at popping the battery out; for now, that’s also been trickier than expected. (I may be being too gentle, but the stickers didn’t hold initially and I’m worried lamp will fall down again.) So … assuming the developers snap into gear and make a functional app, ideally with a widget, or just send out a remote, I can get used to the rest. Otherwise, will likely demote to use in a closet or send it back. ### 2/5 — App is not intuitive *2025-11-26, version 1.0.6* App is not intuitive. As someone in UX I wouldn’t be surprised if an intern designed this, not intuitive at all and even the app flow don’t make sense, love my poplight so far but app needs some tlc. ### 2/5 — Battery Function Doesn’t Work *2025-10-10, version 1.0.6* The lights are fine but the app is terrible. Every time I check the battery I get a different percentage. It will go from 75% to the light dying on me in less than a minute. I’ve tried restarting the app and every time I get a different battery percentage. ### 1/5 — Horrendous *2025-08-23, version 1.0.6* App is confusing to use, I have these large cards for each light… but pressing on those cards does nothing. It doesn’t open the light settings, or turn the light on or off. So there’s no easy dashboard for controlling my lights. Renaming groups is impossible and settings made to groups don’t seem to save. There are no timers, so I can’t set my light to turn on at sundown, pretty basic feature. Overall, huge disappointment. Zero issues. But the app is not intuitive at all. The primary purpose of using the app once the lights are purchased would be to turn the lights off and on. Why would this not be the very first thing that I see on my app? Why am I having to choose “adjust settings” to power on and off? It’s an illogical flow. I love my lights but I honestly don’t find the app useful but I have to use it in order to use the lights.. ### 2/5 — lights are cute, app is a flop *2025-06-24, version 1.0.6* very difficult to even turn on the light using this. i wanted to rename my lights to manage them easier and it is very unclear on how to do it, i need to click a bunch of buttons before accidentally having it work. then when i try to recreate the steps is doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-05-20* This app works intermittently when it feels like it and sometimes controls just one of the two lights I have despite that I’ve grouped them together. I’d say the percentage of time that the app actually works as it’s supposed to is roughly 4%. Yes my internet connection is great and I live in only 500 square feet so yes, I’m never out of range when I attempt to control my lights. I LOVE the lights themselves but this app…needs WORK ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2025-04-20* I’m pretty disappointed. I love the style of the light itself and thought setup was simple and easy. However the app is almost non-functional. The connection to my pop lights is almost never maintained so every time I want to turn on the light I need to refresh / re-add the poplight connection. Navigating the app is more difficult than you would expect for something that literally turns a light bulb on or off. They’ve nested the power button several clicks deep. But the main thing is that the app-driven connection just does not reliably work which means it’s hard to even use the lamp at all. Really frustrating, defeats the purpose. ### 1/5 — If you haven’t bought a poplight yet, don’t *2026-01-01, version 1.0.6* app has terrible ui: you have to rename lights constantly, there are only preset timers (shortest amount is 15 minutes), for me one of the lighting settings completely doesnt work and support offered no solutions. a year+ into having a poplight and it turns off after a minute because the battery sucks. would be better to find a nice vintage hanging lamp/invest in something long lasting and learn the skills to install a light. much more useful and more cost effective than this ### 1/5 — Please IMPROVE! *2025-12-13, version 1.0.6* This is the most disappointing app I could’ve imagined. I planned to put these lights out of easy reach and now I don’t know what to do… The on/off controls aren’t on the first screen, so you have extra clicks just to use. The app doesn’t just open, but has a logo load window so that’s slow too. It doesn’t have any way to automate the lights. It’s not intuitive AT ALL. It even doesn’t tell me the individual light IDs if I wanted to try to vibe code myself a solution. I bought these after seeing the FAQ that they are working on making them HomeKit compatible… right now I’m not optimistic about that. Disappointing! ### 1/5 — Horrible App *2025-10-10* This app is horrendous and completely illogical. The user flow makes absolutely no sense. I had ordered multiple poplights in different colors and they all showed up in the app as the same color - would be a useful feature for them to show up the color they actually are. Second, you have to select "adjust settings" to actually turn your light on and off. Clicking on the actual photo of the light from the home screen does nothing. I have a WiFi extender in my bedroom, where the lights are, and am therefore within 10 ft of the light. Not sure if that would make a difference for some.
