## What is PopupNinja?

PopupNinja is a web extension. It hides JavaScript-generated app-install sheets and blocking overlays so you can keep reading in your browser. On some supported websites it also stops pop-up windows and the ad scripts that open them.

You choose which supported websites to enable. Search the overlay catalog in the app, add a site, then allow the extension for that website in the browser. Nothing is enabled until you pick it.

The App Store app is the setup and catalog UI. After you turn the extension on in Settings, open the site in your browser, allow PopupNinja for that website, and reload.

Optional rule updates download a small JSON configuration file only for the sites you enabled. PopupNinja does not send page content, cookies, or account data.

How to enable:
1. Open PopupNinja and add a website from the catalog
2. Settings → Apps → Extensions (system web browser) → PopupNinja
3. Open the site in your browser, allow the extension, and reload

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-29

Pop-up blocking for supported websites: on sites that open ad windows from any tap, PopupNinja now stops those pop-ups and blocks the ad scripts that open them. It only does this on websites you turn on in the app, and nothing about the pages you visit is sent anywhere.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-12

New websites can now be added to the catalog without an app update. Open the app or tap Load latest rules to see newly supported websites. The extension still asks for access only to websites you add.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-29
