## What is Porchside?

You finally have time to take that pottery class, try the new ramen spot, or play tennis on Saturday morning. Whether you already have someone to go with or you're hoping to find them, Porchside helps you make it happen.

Porchside is a different way to do the things you love with people on the same wavelength. It starts with something simple: the stuff you already want to do. A morning walk. Pickleball on Sunday. Coffee with someone who gets it. A book club that goes somewhere real. Porchside connects you with people in your local community who are up for the same thing, then helps with the planning, so all you have to do is show up.

It works for two crowds: people building a social circle from scratch, and groups that already exist and want an easier way to keep showing up for each other. Whether you're new in town, entering a new phase of life, going through a big change, looking for a wider circle, or just want your social life better organized, this is for you.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Share your vibe. Pick the activities you enjoy, the kinds of people you click with, and the areas you spend time in.

2. See what's happening around you. Browse activities Porchside members are organizing, or post one of your own.

3. Join solo, or bring a friend or two. Express interest in an activity, get connected, and show up.

4. Keep coming back. Spend time with the people you click with, host your own plans, and watch a real community grow around the things you love.

WHY PEOPLE JOIN

- Activity-first by design. You meet the right people by doing things together, at a pace that feels natural.

- Planning made easier. Invites, group chat, location, and logistics are built in. Run your book club, walking group, weekly pickup game, or recurring dinner without juggling threads and calendar invites.

- Local by design. Proximity is what makes plans happen consistently. Porchside surfaces people and activities in your area, so you can skip the long commute and actually show up.

- Better with a crew. Some plans are best with three or four. Start or join a small recurring group with its own chat, and build a regular crew around what you love.

MADE FOR

People looking for a tennis partner, a hiking buddy, or a museum-day friend.
People who'd rather try a new spot with someone than go solo.
People building a friend group around a hobby.
Hosts running book clubs, walking groups, or weekly pickup games.
People who'd rather walk into a room with a friend than alone.

SAFETY AND CARE

Porchside is a small, member-first community, and we look after it.

Phone verification is required for every account. Optional selfie verification adds a visible verified badge to your profile.

You can block, report, or mute anyone at any time, and a real person follows up.

Your precise location is never shared. Others see only approximate distance and neighborhood.

DON'T KNOW ANYONE?

No problem. Porchside and its community leaders host regular activities for people new to the area, and every plan marked Public is open to all. Being new doesn't mean you can't find your crew.

Questions or feedback reach a real human at hello@porchside.co.

No endless feed. No follower counts. Porchside is quiet by design, built to help you close the app and go be somewhere.

Porchside is launching first in Austin, Texas. More cities are coming.

Less scrolling. More doing.

### 1/5 — Too many redirects

*2026-08-09*

When attempting to verify your email address, you’ll get either a “too many redirects” error, or sent to a site with an expired security certificate. Yikes!

### 5/5 — Less intimidating than meetup

*2026-08-03*

I like the small group activities and groups and communities based around different interests. It’s great for pickup sports and leagues, but also has non-active activities like book clubs and café sessions to have more meaningful conversations. It has already helped me improve some of my friendships with people I’ve known for a while but hadn’t really been able to get beyond surface level with.

### 5/5 — Actually Helped Me Meet People

*2026-06-23*

I’ve been using Porchside since the early days, and it’s already helped me meet genuinely interesting people, attend great events, and build connections I wouldn’t have made otherwise.
What I like most is that it focuses on real friendships, community, and shared activities instead of endless scrolling or texting.
Looking forward to seeing it grow.
