Also no option for WPA3 security. Don’t waste your money and time. ### 1/5 — Create your own QR code is gone!!! *2020-07-02, version 1.3* That was an awesome feature which I would have paid for. Now that it’s gone I really won’t be buying any of your blocks!!! ### 1/5 — Not working *2020-06-22, version 1.2.5* When you an the NFC tag for the initial setup, it will read and just go back to the getting started screen. ### 1/5 — This app doesn’t work *2020-02-22, version 1.2.5* I have an iPhone XR. After confirming my wifi, I click next and it returns to the splash screen. It did not set up my porter and I never was prompted to print anything for the back of my porter. The only step it had me complete was to enter my wifi information and confirm the look and advanced options. ### 1/5 — No feedback on success *2019-10-09, version 1.2.2* App doesn't tell you whether or not you have successfully configured your device. Just dumps you back to the same start menu. ### 1/5 — Useless *2019-07-12, version 1.1.2* If you have an iPhone, you can’t configure this (unless you have the iOS 13 beta). This was not clear when I ordered. If you read some of the reviews, they talk about older iPhones not working with the nfc but don’t clarify that even with newer iPhone, you still need an android to set up nfc. Effectively, it ends up being a $40 holder for a piece of paper with a QR code on it. Not recommended. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worthless *2026-09-01, version 1.3.34* This app is absolute garbage. If you have a porter, you’re better off just throwing it in the trash. This will soon be replaced by an AI version that actually works. ### 1/5 — Don’t use *2026-06-30, version 1.3.34* So my guest after scanning is taken to an internet site that gives the network and password that they now have to copy and add manually. What a scam. ### 1/5 — Waste of money for what literally is a block of finely designed wood. *2026-06-13, version 1.3.33* Cute idea, but completely useless if you configure the device with a phone you don’t have anymore. There also isn’t a way to contact anyone at Ten One for support with the device. Do yourself a favor, just share the password with anyone who needs access to WiFi. ### 1/5 — Agree with all negative reviews *2026-03-08, version 1.3.32* Such a lovely, yet poorly functional design. This provides no benefit for iOS users because iPhones cannot tap NFC to join networks. There is workaround to use a template for a QR code on the back but it is nearly impossible to remove the plastic backing without cracking it. The back design feels like something that was tested in a factory conference room and no one accounted for swelling in storage/shipping or the glue making its way into the crevices. Even after Overall, a badly designed, overpriced product. ### 1/5 — Pointless for IOS *2025-12-24, version 1.3.32* I assumed it would be a way to share my network without giving out passwords. Nope. I could have just as easily and more cheaply printed out my network name and my password on a piece of paper and glued them to a block of wood. Btw, the plastic backs cracked on both blocks because glue bleeding from the rubber grommet glued the covers you need to remove down. Sigh. Lesson learned. ### 1/5 — An Expensive QR Code that doesn’t work *2025-04-01, version 1.3.24* It’s just a QR Code for iPhones and to make matters worse, the QR code doesn’t even show up on the back of the wood block, and to make matters even worse, there is little to no documentation. Steer clear. ### 1/5 — What a waste! *2025-03-25, version 1.3.24* Don’t believe the ads if you are an iPhone user. Essentially the product is a less than fancy case to allow you to print a QR code that you cut out from a sheet of paper and insert into the transparent back of the wood block. A user then flips the block and uses his camera to scan the QR code. I’m not kidding. No tap and go as advertised. There are a lot cheaper ways to do this, and the wooden holder for the self-printed QR code isn’t worth the dollars. ### 1/5 — Kinda lame *2024-12-14, version 1.3.24* Just telling someone the password would be easier ### 1/5 — Complete Scam *2024-09-20, version 1.3.20* This product and this app is a complete scam. It does not work as advertised. All it does is send you to a URL with the network name and password. It does not automatically log into the Wi-Fi network as advertised. I purchased two of these. What a rip off. ### 1/5 — Great Idea, poor execution and overpriced product *2023-11-04, version 1.3.16* This app is so dreadful and the Porter itself is overpriced for what it is. unnecessarily complicated user interface and unreliable, how many time do you have to add a Porter to a location, it seems like every time I log on it’s deleted the Porter that I have, even though I’m signed in to my account. I’ve just given up on this and thrown it in the drawer. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Simple setup and great execution *2025-06-27, version 1.3.28* The porter product is a great stylish item to have in my hope to reliably share my WiFi with guests. NFC is useful for new phones & the QR code you can customise during setup is neat for older devices. It even has a place to show the password if needed for older devices, far better than having to go to the router. ### 5/5 — Intuitive app with great visualisation of the end product *2024-11-13, version 1.3.24* I've had my porter for two weeks now and this app is a pleasure to work with. I love the visualisation of the end result the best. It's had its problems but the developer and support have been incredibly responsive to fix them. I finally got it. When I tried it, it worked and connected to my wifi but when I turned off wifi on my iPhone and turned it back on, I had to re-scan the QR code with the camera. Wish it would keep the wifi configuration on the phone but then again it’s good for visitors, just a one time connection. Wish there was a setting on the app that would allow you to enable/disable iPhones/androids from keeping the wifi settings or just a one time connection. ### 3/5 — Neat idea ahead of its time *2019-04-12, version 1.1.1* Until IOS supports NFC for wifi networks this is a neat idea ahead of its time. IOS users will have to open the camera to scan a printed QR code. Setup via the app was easy. Wood block is great and all but overpriced at $39 to hold a piece of paper. ### 2/5 — Barely iOS compatible and poor UX design *2019-11-11, version 1.2.3* The app is confusing and pretty pointless in my opinion. Installing an app JUST for set up seems stupid and a waste of time. I love the idea of the WiFi porter but it’s not compatible with iPhones??
