Trust is the right question to ask when an app connects to a brokerage account. The app is designed so your Alpaca keys stay on your device. They are securely stored in the iOS Keychain, which encrypts data on device. They are not stored on our servers, and we do not have access to them. Your keys are only used from your device to connect to Alpaca over HTTPS. You can also revoke or rotate them anytime from your Alpaca account. Btw there is no real Alpaca iOS app to rely on anymore. And this is so much better than the original Alpaca app. I can chart, place orders, track positions, and see fee/interest impact in one place without having to open my laptop and log into the web console. Still just comes up with errors and doesn’t work. **Developer response:** The app can only connect when the Alpaca API key and secret are valid, active, and entered in the correct fields. Copied keys can easily fail if they are incomplete, expired, or include extra spaces. Keep in mind that your login is not the same as API credentials and will not work as such. Please use the in-app “Open Guided Setup” button, which generates and inserts the correct Alpaca credentials automatically.
