## What is Portfolio?

Portfolio lets you become a property investor from your phone with as little as £10,000. 


We’re on a mission to make the benefits of investing in property available to the many – not the elite few. So, we developed Portfolio to eliminate the main barriers to investing in traditional buy-to-let property: time, market knowledge and large amounts of money. 


With the Portfolio app, you can get exposure to property linked investment straight from your phone without any of the hassle of traditional ownership – and still feel like an owner with video tours and in-app updates.


When you invest through the Portfolio app, you’re buying shares in the Portfolio REIT Plc, which is a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) - a special type of fund designed specifically for holding property. In the UK, more than £50bn is invested in REITs. Globally, they own some of the world’s most famous properties – including the Empire State Building!

Your shares entitle you to a share of any rental profits (paid as dividends), plus the possibility of your shares increasing in value if the value of the homes rises.
