I realize that login issues of the past had to do with the hosting site and they weren’t specifically Portillo’s fault. I can deal with that getting cleared up by the host. But this version (V4.8.4) has some patch fixes that make the app a pain to deal with. The UI used to flip automatically to the order tracking page once an order was placed. Now, it takes you back to the landing page and forces you to dig through submenus to track your order. That redirect was NOT broken, so why fix it? Please, Portillo’s…find a new host for your app. The current host isn’t doing you any favors. ### 1/5 — Complete garbage *2026-06-29, version 4.8.4* App doesn’t work. I was unable to track order status and the location in Niles Illinois does not place food on “pick up” rack as displayed on the app. Still very much required myself and (2) other patrons to wait at a counter to then figure out where our orders were. You’re better off ordering through other apps like Uber Eats! Well, we finally got the chance and from what we’ve seen online/videos it al looked really good…. Massive let down! Being half Italian, I tried the classic Italian beef with the works, good part on me that I got the spicy Gardanaire on the side, the meat was tasteless and hardly any peppers at all. My wife loves chili cheese dogs, and she was like,” what is this?!” My chili I make at home was 10 times better, the onion rings and fries tasted like they’re frozen and not salted in anyway. Also, perks program doesn’t work at all. You can sign up for it, but it’s a completely different section and it’s not actually represented anywhere on the app. I visited at least a dozen times and it still shows zero visits. This app is absolutely garbage. How is this company ignoring this problem? Plain and simple, the app sucks. It needs a complete overhaul. The food & the vibe are fantastic!!! I have been super fortunate to be served by Mia (drivethru) several times now! Mia is amazing!!! Awesome customer service, friendly & always making you feel appreciated!! Mia is the perfect “ambassador” for excellence in customer service & satisfaction!!! It’s just her “norm”!!! Older people tend to have more difficulty with tech and apps, so I get it. But I’m one to assume a badly rated food app is an unusable food app and this app is far from unusable. I even got to walk right in past a line of people and grab my order with my name on it. ### 5/5 — Sandwich customization *2026-03-27, version 4.8.4* There’s no place on the app to add grilled onions too the Italian sausage sandwich. I also can’t make it like the Chicago style hotdog or Polish sausage, which I would like to be able to do. Also, when I select cheese, for example mozzarella, the app will not allow me to select cheddar as well. The other change I would make is for delivery orders. I would reverse the default making the existing address the default, but I can understand why the new address is the default. there is also no ice level option for the drink for the burger bundle. ### 5/5 — Found it! *2026-02-27, version 4.8.4* Don’t miss the olo email welcoming you to perks. Once you hit the link inside the email your perks card shows up in your iPhone wallet. Definitely easier than navigating the app every time. My students were from a power company there. I asked them where was a good place to go for lunch! They all said Portillo’s! I said ok, let’s go and try it!! When we got there, they recommended that I get the Italian Beef Sandwich! I did and was immediately hooked!!! Every meal was there. At the time, it was only in Chicago! Now we have a few here in central Florida!
