### 2/5 — Apparently, the app was updated.

*2026-01-06, version 9.0*

My phone broke two days ago. I got a new phone yesterday and today i try to see what my bill is and completely new format and I can’t see the important stuff I need to see.

### 1/5 — Payment related

*2025-05-19, version 8.4*

If you set up autopay, I’d advise you not to just remove it. Their system is so outdated and glitchy that it might double-charge you, and you won’t get your money back. They’ll probably say something like, ‘We’ll apply it to your next payment.

### 1/5 — literally cannot log in

*2025-04-17, version 8.3*

The sign in password area only allows a certain amount of characters. My desktop password works fine when I sign in, but I literally cannot use this app because my password is too long for it I guess? It will not allow my to enter my password until I make it shorter.

### 3/5 — Works better now

*2025-01-14, version 8.3*

Wow I can login. This is a great start.

### 2/5 — App works until it doesn’t

*2025-01-11, version 8.2*

The app isn’t great but lately it won’t even open so I can pay my bill. It lets me log in, but then just shows the stupid little lightning bolt loading screen and never gets in to the actual app. You’d think with them raising the rates even higher that they could afford to make a decent app.

### 3/5 — PGE could do better

*2024-12-19, version 8.2*

I’ve been using the web interface, but downloaded the app when installing a new thermostat.
It seems to have all the functions I use on the web, but with really long wait times when going from one function to another.
I think I’ll stay with the web.

### 1/5 — ApplePay doesn’t work

*2024-10-11, version 8.2*

The app list ApplePay as an option and the ApplePay prompt comes up and is successfully but the app fails to update the account and my card is never charged.

### 1/5 — Prevents autofill of password

*2024-09-28, version 8.2*

Your app devs are terrible. They don’t allow you to paste or use password autofill in this app. Makes logging in super hard. PGE bills are way too high this company is full of crooks

### 1/5 — Where’s usage??

*2024-08-11, version 8.1*

I can no longer see how much electricity I’ve used or produced in the app.

### 1/5 — The energy usage feature seems to be gone

*2024-08-10, version 8.1*

The feature I used most, energy usage, seems to be gone. A usage button used to be at the bottom of the screen but it is not there anymore. So far, I can’t find where to track my energy usage with the app anymore.

### 1/5 — Skip 8.1 Update

*2024-08-02, version 8.1*

The app used to be really good. It had FaceID, iCloud Keychain, usernames with a valid + symbol were accepted, and usable features like usage graphs. Now in 8.1, I can’t login because my email isn’t accepted only on the app. Only useful thing is Outage Map via guest login.

### 1/5 — Unable to login due to broken password flow

*2024-07-31, version 8.1*

The new version of the app not only removed fingerprint auth, it also broke iCloud Keychain password autofill, you can't copy/paste your password either, and heaven forbid you use a special character because it automatically removes it when you type even if that's already your correct password (who enforces password schema at login ?!)

For anyone with a strong password it is practically unusable.

### 1/5 — 8.1 still broken

*2024-07-17, version 8.1*

I can’t even sign in because the app thinks it knows better than I do what my account email is.

Note to the app devs: the + character is perfectly valid and you should stop trying to do client side validation.

### 3/5 — Removed a useful feature (FP auth)

*2024-07-12, version 8.0*

This app generally works well to pay my bill and to get updates on outage info, unfortunately in the latest release of the app they removed the fingerprint authentication feature, making Face ID the only automatic authentication option. For those of us who still have fingerprint identification devices (eg iPhone SE) we have to resort to the old method of email and password to login. You should have considered your user base before completely removing a useful feature.

### 1/5 — 8.0 version broken

*2024-07-02, version 8.0*

Opened the app to pay my bill and was forced to update to the latest version. Update logged me out, rejected my login requiring me to change my email on the website on my desktop computer. And now that I can log in again, even though the app lists Apple Pay as a payment option, it rejects any attempt to use ApplePay to pay your bill. I used to pay with ApplePay and now cannot. Whoever made this update is absolute garbage and should lose their job. What a joke of a company.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-07-01, version 8.0*

App just flashes then disappears and doesn’t load. Terrible when it worked and absolutely useless now. Deleted it. One less app to track my phone now.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-06-30, version 8.0*

Current update to 8.0 will not let you autofill or copy and paste password from iOS password or any password managers. Not just a PGE thing but a lot of app updates break passwords and how you can copy and paste.

### 1/5 — Last update broke login

*2024-06-29, version 8.0*

Can no longer pull saved login info or paste in password. Please fix!

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-06-27, version 8.0*

App crashes on launch and has for past few days

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-06-27, version 9.4*

I like to check my usage of costs every couple of days but since the update it isn’t showing current information on the usage so now it sucks!

### 1/5 — Hot garbage

*2026-04-11, version 9.2*

We can log in via web. But the app doesn’t accept our credentials. When we use guest option it throws errors. This thing works so poorly, one has to ask, why does PGE even bother? As a software engineer I’d be embarrassed to release any program this bad. 100% unusable.

### 1/5 — New app does not let you log in.

*2026-02-21, version 9.1*

New app does not allow you to log in.

### 1/5 — App Broken

*2026-02-10, version 9.1*

The app doesn’t work at all. It won’t let me sign in. Website isn’t even working correctly for my account. But I still get their emails updating me about my bill being due, though.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-01-14, version 9.1*

After recent update it is impossible to login. App just crashes or shows an error about email or password, when both are correct.

### 1/5 — Ghetto

*2026-01-08, version 9.0*

This app is a buggy mess

### 1/5 — Unprofessional

*2026-01-06, version 9.0*

Constant issues with internet and login. Maybe hire some folks that knows what they’re doing instead of more managers and mouth pieces

### 1/5 — Version 9 UPDATE

*2025-12-27, version 9.0*

The latest update broke the app. I can't see my payment history, the amount due for this month isn't displayed either, nothing at all. Even logging in is problematic: password autofill doesn't work because the entered email is immediately erased. But on the website everything works.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-10-31, version 8.5*

I have tried many times to login or register for a new account and after I put all my information, it says something about the system is not working. Try again later. Garbage.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2025-07-21, version 8.5*

I enter my email address and password but when I hit Sign in the app crashes. I’ve redownloaded the app, I’ve restarted my phone but the issue remains.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Idea: Off/On peak Notifications

*2025-10-18, version 8.5*

Happy with the PGE app, I just wish there was a way to enable push notifications for when I’m on and off peak, so I know when and when not to run the dishwasher, vacuum, stereo etc.

### 5/5 — It accept my money.

*2024-06-27, version 8.0*

It doesn’t have to be pretty!! Just has to work.

*2019-10-30, version 1.3*

Great app, simple and efficient

### 5/5 — Easy to use app

*2019-10-11*

Easy to use and simple interface. Balance is upfront, no need to search. You can report an outage via phone. Wish the sign out spot was easier to find, but now that I found it, I’m good to go.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2019-10-10, version 1.1*

Way better this way!

### 5/5 — So easy to use!

*2019-10-08*

Thanks for making such a user friendly app, PGE! This makes it super convenient to understand my usage and paying my bill is a cinch! Well done!

This is amazing! Great app!

### 5/5 — Great app. Super straight-forward and easy to use.
