Also many items cannot be read in full unless you subscribe to the provider. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t use app w/out payment *2026-07-25* It’d be nice to read a few articles before they start blocking you because you’re not a paying customer. I got a headline that I was curious about reading, but could not proceed even as a one- time guest. ### 1/5 — Continued advertising after Upgrade *2024-03-09* Live the content, hate the advertising. Upgrade removed the adds, but lasted less than a month. Not worth it if thats all you get. ### 1/5 — Portugal News no longer works! *2021-05-08, version 1.0* Something is wrong with the app! It worked perfectly until about 10 days ago and now it just says something is wrong with the internet connection. Deleting and reinstalling it does not help either! They mostly just link to other news agencies. It’s a bit like doing a Google search with “news Portugal”. If they write their own articles they are shallow and poorly researched. Shame there aren’t any alternatives! Today the app said it could not connect to the internet. All my other apps work. It had the nerve to tell me to check my connection. Since I plan on moving from the US to Portugal in 2021, I had hoped to see more local news so that I can get a better feel for the local issues and culture. Even seeing local store ads would be nice to see how merchandise compares in price to the US. The layout is crisp and clean and the content is always concise and to the point (sometimes perhaps a tad too concise, but at least it offers awareness).
