### 4/5 — Quit button

*2025-05-05, version 2.0*

Good app but the name of the ‘quit’ button in game mode should be changed to something more positive like exit. Quittting is a negative word

### 3/5 — Ok I guess

*2021-12-24, version 2.0*

It is good but I don’t love it it does not help me that much but I like using it👍🏻

### 4/5 — Positive Penguins

*2020-06-25, version 2.0*

I like it because it helps me calm down when I need to have self control over myself. But I hate the game,I think it makes people frustrated anyway it definitely makes me otherwise it’s good

### 4/5 — Positive Penguins

*2016-04-04, version 2.0*

A very easy app to use that is affective.

### 5/5 — Cool

*2014-06-13, version 1.5*

We use this app in school I like the way I can solve my problems. I like the microphone option instead of typing too

### 5/5 — Best app

*2014-06-13, version 1.5*

If you have children or grandchildren and want them to be happy and successful teach them this resilience technique.

### 5/5 — Brilliant and innovative app

*2014-02-22, version 1.4*

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2013-03-02, version 1.0*

Wow what a great way to have a conversation with kids about how they choose their feelings based on their self talk! Very empowering Really cool fun too

### 5/5 — Amazing new tool for children

*2013-01-29, version 1.0*

This has been an amazing tool for sorting through problems. Given all the problems children are experiencing nowadays (bullying, etc.), this should be a tool used in schools and recommended to parents. Very interactive and easy for children to use.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won’t Even Open

*2024-05-22, version 2.0*

Purchased it for my daughter and it won’t even open. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Helpless

*2023-03-03, version 2.0*

Lol i can’t believe u think this is helpful

### 1/5 — Do not purchase

*2023-02-06, version 2.0*

This app uses harmful language like “stupid” and “wrong”. The language use promotes negative self thought among users.

### 1/5 — Waiste of money

*2018-12-11, version 2.0*

Don’t buy this app. It’s useless. Google how to challenge a negative thought and ask yourself 5 questions. That’s all this app does and it doesn’t even say what you write. Definitely not useful with children.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2016-08-15, version 2.0*

Do not buy this. I thought it would help my child learn emotion while playing a fun game. The game has nothing to do learning emotions it is just a penguin throwing snowballs at fish. There is no learning emotions involved.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever. Waste of money!!!

*2014-11-15, version 1.5*

Not helpful or informative AT ALL,

### 1/5 — Missing important emotions

*2013-11-17, version 1.2*

This app is designed for children and I don't know how a child will interpret the lack of any emotion resembling fear such as afraid, shocked or even startled.

### 1/5 — penguins

*2013-11-12, version 1.2*

This game is not for kids! I can't even get past first page, it's like "angry birds". if you don't hit all the fish with a snowball ( only limited number of tries) you just keep repeating over and over. my daughter got frustrated as I did and stopped playing.

### 2/5 — Glitch in games

*2025-02-23, version 2.0*

The snowball game is the first game option and there is a glitch …and the game isn’t playable

### 2/5 — Not child-friendly

*2013-08-13, version 1.1*

While the premise of this app is encouraging, the implementation I found flawed. The child is asked to select their current mood, and then taken through some steps to explore the foundation for the feeling. What didn't work for me was the question and answer format. The child is asked about some aspect of their feeling and a keyboard appears for them to type in their analysis. I have an 8 year-old and there is no way a child will have the interest, patience or typing skills to respond; I found it a tedious format and I type well.
As a footnote, I couldn't get it to load on an iPod 4Gen. Worked fine on an iPhone5.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very useful for kids who are being bullied.

*2024-07-14*

I am 10 years old and I get bullied this game helps me build confidence in myself.

### 5/5 — 10/10

*2023-09-01, version 2.0*

LOVE this app. Makes self-help therapy fun and using it eases my anxieties. I would like a larger text box as it stops me from adding characters at one point when answering the penguins questions.

### 5/5 — My view of the app

*2020-05-04, version 2.0*

This is awesome app but I hate the game because it is teaching kids to be passionate but I do the calm down and than get annoyed but I think it awesome.

I like this app because it lets you express your feelings without expressing them physically or mentally

### 5/5 — Useful at any age

*2018-12-12, version 2.0*

This is a lighthearted way to actively acknowledge feelings, challenge thoughts and take ones own advice. We all need a little help with this sometimes.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-08-31, version 2.0*

It's really helpful

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2016-04-10, version 2.0*

Awesome app - love challenging my thinking and the meditation

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2016-02-10, version 1.5*

I find this to be a great tool to use with kids!
It is step by step and easy for them to use, and I get an emailed copy for my file/documentation to revisit with them as needed.
