## What is Postmarks?

Turn your daily steps into a journey across Japan and beyond.

Postmarks transforms ordinary movement into a slow, meaningful adventure. Walk in real life while traveling between real cities, collecting vintage stamps, finding souvenirs, unlocking achievements, and filling a passport that grows with every step.
This is not another pedometer. It is a reason to go outside.

◆ YOUR WALK HAS A DESTINATION NOW
Most walking apps track distance and forget about it. Postmarks gives every walk a place to go.
Every step moves you along routes inspired by real places, from Tokyo’s streets to Kyoto’s temples, snowy northern roads, coastal towns, mountain paths, and beyond.
No pressure. No workouts. Just walking with direction.

◆ COLLECT VINTAGE STAMPS
Reach a new city and unlock a handcrafted vintage stamp for your passport.
Common stamps for early cities
Rare, Epic, and Legendary stamps as you travel farther
Hidden secret stops for curious explorers
After Dark stamps for night journeys
Separate Day and After Dark collections
Each stamp marks movement you actually made.

◆ FIND SOUVENIRS ALONG THE WAY
Your walks can now lead to Trail Finds: small discoveries that happen as you travel.
Pick up souvenirs from roadside stalls, festivals, shops, markets, shrines, parks, and stranger little corners of the journey. Keep them in your Backpack, sort your collection, and revisit the story behind each find.
Some souvenirs are common. Some are rare. Some only appear after dark.

◆ UNLOCK ACHIEVEMENTS
Postmarks now has achievements for milestones, routes, collections, discoveries, and special moments.
Earn badges as your journey grows, then view them in your Badge Case. Some achievements are obvious goals. Others are hidden until you find the right combination of stamps, souvenirs, or places.

◆ YOUR PERSONAL TRAVEL PASSPORT
Watch your passport fill page by page as your journey grows. Flip through your collection anytime, revisit the cities you have reached, and see the stamps, badges, and memories you have earned.
It is a visual record of consistency, not perfection.

◆ EXPLORE EACH CITY
Every reached city includes an info screen with more about the place you have arrived: local context, landmarks, and details that make the route feel less like a line on a map and more like a real journey.

◆ WALK BY DAY OR AFTER DARK
After Dark turns familiar routes into night journeys with their own mood, map style, stamps, and discoveries.
Switching between Day and After Dark is now smoother too. Night mode no longer means starting over from the first city.

◆ A JOURNAL THAT WRITES ITSELF
Every day you move, Postmarks writes a new journal entry: ruled paper, red margins, handwritten feel. Your cities, your streak, your progress, and your route moments become a calm travel diary built from real-life movement.

◆ BUILD A WALKING HABIT NATURALLY
Walking is one of the simplest things you can do for your well-being. Postmarks helps you stay consistent by making every outing feel like part of something bigger: a city waiting ahead, a stamp to earn, a souvenir to find, a streak to protect.
Missed yesterday? Everyone now gets 1-day retroactive logging, so it is easier to keep your journey honest without losing momentum.

◆ KINTSUGI TOKEN
Life happens. Kintsugi Tokens let you mend a missed streak day within the last week. Your steps stay honest; only the streak continues.

◆ FREE TO START
Start with Heart of Honshu, a full route across Japan with cities, stamps, secret stops, journaling, souvenirs, and the core Postmarks experience included.
Postmarks: Japan expands the adventure with more Japan routes, more souvenirs, more pacing options, and free Day / After Dark switching.
More routes and regions are planned.

Walk the world, one stamp at a time.

### 5/5 — The most beautiful step tracker I’ve seen

*2026-04-30*

I’ve tried a few step trackers in the past but they were either just pure stats and boring, or too complicated with unnecessary features, or I had to pay to get anything meaningful.
This app is just amazing. The aesthetics are genuinely beautiful and the stamps are so gorgeous that it makes me want to walk.
The passport, the journal, the steak, all of them motivate me. 10/10!

**Developer response:** Thank you for using Postmarks!
Really glad that you are enjoying it and that the app motivates you to walk more. That is exactly why I made this.
Happy walking!!
