Concerned about future update issues. ### 2/5 — Use at your own risk! *2026-06-05, version 2.7.29* It was great for 6 years until 3 days ago when it catastrophically deleted every single photo. I didn’t panic at first, as I “knew” they were iCloud backed up, meaning I could just offload the app and do a restore from the cloud. Nope. Turned out the app just literally DELETED every single last one of my images. Permanently and irreversibly. It retained my written notes, but without my images, those are useless. ### 2/5 — All the photos disappeared from Pottery Notes app. *2026-06-03, version 2.7.29* What is the point of this app if all the data disappears? ### 3/5 — Great til I lost all my pics *2026-06-02, version 2.7.28* I’ve been using this for several years and have been happy overall with its features. There’s a few categories I felt could be organized better - like having different sections for different stages of my pieces. Unfortunately a recent app update just lost all my photos and I hadn’t backed them up. Notes I’d written are still there, including glazes, firings, dates etc, but mostly I enjoyed looking back on the photos. At least I got a quick and honest response back from the app developer, which I appreciated. I think I’ll take this time to look over some other app options. ### 3/5 — Pictures disappeared *2026-06-02, version 2.7.28* Love this app but since the last update, all my pictures have disappeared. If an app freezes 4 times in less than 5 minutes its a no for me, sorry 😓 ### 4/5 — Best App out there! *2024-03-05, version 2.5.16* The only reason for 4 stars (really 4.5) is because I’d like to be able to reorder the pots I create: put the like pots together with other like pots. Currently, I have “pots” labeled ‘Christmas ideas’ and ‘glaze combos’ and ‘inspiration’; I’d like them to be at the bottom of my scroll rather than intermittently within the scroll according to when I thought of it. Great job. Oh, how much capacity does this app have cuz when I used my Android and pottery log it maxed out and wouldn’t back up anymore. Unbelievable that they did not create a back up or test it well enough for that to happen. Very, very poor quality control for an app I had come to rely on to track all my work. So disappointing. Early on it mysteriously deleted all of my information. I continued to use it. Big mistake!! Today when I opened the app all of my photos of my pieces were gone. Others in my class experienced the same issue. We each contacted customer service & were told that ‘there was a glitch in the app & that the photos are unlikely to come back’. I had over 200 pieces on the app. I am devastated as are the other artists in my class. The app is obviously not secure or reliable. It combines all the things I would do in an Excel spreadsheet in a much more cohesive way. It has a flexibility to add categories and make the changes you might need for your particular type of work. The creator understands Ceramics and all the nitty details that you need to keep track of to make your work consistent. You can even create a printed record as needed. ### 5/5 — fabulous-customize your note taking!! *2026-04-11, version 2.7.26* I use this app constantly! It is great. The ability to adapt the fields you use, and have a modifiable template is SO useful. I even use the accessibility ipad feature, to zoom in on photos in the list of projects. I airdrop files between iphone and ipad (this is my only wish-to have it sync). I have tried the other pottery apps and none are as customizable as PotteryNotes. Very organized and flexible. This app does not limit how many glazes you can enter. I’m very happy with it.
