## What is Pounce Play?

Fresh prey, every play.

Pounce Play is a touch-responsive play world for cats. Unlike a looping video, every session creates a changing hunt: prey darts, pauses, hides, reappears, and reacts the instant a paw lands nearby.

START IN A FEW TAPS

Choose Quick Play for a balanced ten-minute mix of all twelve prey types, or select a mode that fits your cat’s energy. Gentle favors one large, softly moving target. Hunter adds dart-and-pause action. Zoomies turns up the speed. Multi-Cat spreads four roomy targets across the screen. Aquarium and Bug Hunt focus the experience around a theme.

PREY WITH PERSONALITY

Fish glide and turn. Mice hug edges and dash. Frogs hop and pause. Bugs zigzag, flutter, crawl, and hide. Crab, gecko, firefly, caterpillar, and small bird complete the twelve-prey library. Each prey profile has its own movement, speed, sizing, turning, pausing, and edge tendencies—not one animation wearing a different picture.

RESPONDS TO EVERY PAW

Direct catches trigger playful particles and an optional procedural tone. Near misses visibly startle prey, while an optional touch-anywhere ripple responds across the scene. Generous hit areas, rapid tapping, and simultaneous multi-touch make play satisfying on iPad and iPhone. Supported iPhones can also provide light catch haptics.

VARIETY THAT ADAPTS

Pounce Play’s on-device Adaptive Play Director uses catch rate, reaction timing, and miss streaks to gently tune speed, target size, spawn timing, and hit allowance during a session.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

• Select one, several, or all twelve prey types and optional surprise targets
• Set one to four targets, four size presets plus custom sizing, and five speeds plus custom speed
• Choose off, subtle, strong, or custom speed variation
• Pick scene backgrounds, twelve solid colors, a custom color, or a two-color gradient
• Select 3–30 minute presets, a custom duration, or unlimited play
• Adjust procedural effects, ambient sound, touch reactions, and supported-iPhone haptics
• Save full custom presets and review private, on-device session summaries

TWO LAYERS FOR CAT PLAY

In-app Cat Lock removes menus and buttons during play and uses a deliberate human exit gesture. Apple Guided Access can keep the iPad or iPhone restricted to Pounce Play at the system level. Setup guidance explains how the two layers work together.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Pounce Play works entirely offline. There is no account, advertising, subscription, analytics SDK, or backend. Preferences and session summaries remain on the device. The app collects no data.

Pounce Play is free and contains no advertising or in-app purchases in version 1.0. Supervise every session and place the device on a stable, non-slip surface with charging cables removed.
