## What is POV?

You already know English. You just haven't said it out loud.

POV gives you one real-life scene every day - ordering coffee, a job interview, meeting your partner's parents - and asks you to speak it. You record yourself. You listen. You compare your own take against a native master answer. No AI ever grades you.

HOW A DAY WORKS
1. Read the scene and the opening line that gets you started.
2. Record your answer. Live captions show what you just said, word by word.
3. See the three signals your phone measured: whether you opened with the line, how much you said in your own words, and whether you stayed with it - computed on your device, sent nowhere.
4. Play the master answer with word-by-word karaoke, then shadow it line by line.

WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
- No chatbot. No robot score for your accent. You hear yourself and you decide.
- One scene a day, the same one for everyone. Not an endless feed.
- Three difficulty levels of the same scene: starter, mid, fluent. Switch any time.
- Everything you record stays on your phone.

WHAT YOU GET
- A daily scene with a photoreal image, a short briefing and a native master answer
- A shadowing studio with echo drills and 0.5x-1.5x playback
- Word-level karaoke synced to the master audio
- A speaking report that karaokes your own take and shows where you stalled
- Favorites and spaced repetition for the phrases you want to keep
- Vocabulary mini-games
- A streak that only moves when you actually speak

POV PRO
- Every past story, not just the last couple of days
- Tomorrow's scene, tonight
- The full speaking analysis, streak freezes and more

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.0 — 2026-09-01

A better-timed notification ask, a rebuilt Settings, and day boundaries on server time.

• We now ask about tomorrow's scene at the end of your first day, and the permission text changes with where it is asked
• Removed the "open notification permission in system settings" warning that showed up even when you had refused nothing
• Settings is reorganised: every row says what it does, and account deletion moved into the Data page
• Day boundaries read the server clock now — winding your phone forward no longer extends a streak
• The free archive window is the last 2 days; Pro still opens your whole history
• Today's scene image crops correctly on short screens, and the "notify me" bell no longer shifts the card
• Onboarding, the speaking report, the badges and the Pro screen were rewritten

### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-27

Notification cleanup, a clearer speaking report, and a calmer start.

• Daily reminders are capped at one a day, and stray alarms get swept automatically
• The speaking report now counts every take a measure actually has, not just the first
• Cloud backup is opt-in and off by default — your recordings stay local until you choose to back them up
• Today's scene image no longer gets cropped awkwardly on short screens
• The coach balloon no longer reserves space in the tab bar when it isn't showing
• After your first take, results now lead with one clear headline instead of a star ladder
• Onboarding asks which scene you're starring in, with clearer tour, permission, and trend copy
• The privacy promise in Settings > Permissions is now set in bold

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-21

The streak, your vocabulary reviews and everything that happens after you stop recording.

• The streak is a real chain now, with a medal shelf, your protections and the exact day it snapped
• Vocabulary reviews tell you when they fall due — one tap on the card's bell and they will
• Advanced charts moved to a page of their own: daily accuracy and interval spread, at a size you can read
• Every midnight notification carries that night's own hook, so you know which story just landed
• A calmer recording screen — a glass timer, one line per notice, less in the way
• The locked report shows your own numbers now, even from behind the blur
• Every POV you finish is celebrated, not only the three-star ones
• Contrast fixes across the gold surfaces, and shorter, clearer settings copy

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-18

Vocabulary is a schedule now: every phrase tells you when it comes back, and when you actually reviewed it.

• Word practice is one flow — every mini-game shares the same answer bar and a board that remembers where you left off
• Your result opens with your own voice: the reading of your take instead of rows of signals
• Pick the hour your streak reminder arrives, and see every notification summarised in one line
• Dark mode reworked down to the tab bar and the illustrations — no black strip at the bottom
• A calmer home screen once the day is done, with tomorrow and the archive speaking the same language
• Smoother waveform and faster playback

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-08

The midnight notification now opens with the day's own scene instead of a generic line.

• Long takes are scored correctly - the live transcript no longer stops partway through, or when you leave the app mid-recording
• Your story history keeps loading past the first page, and says so honestly when you are offline
• The vocabulary quiz and the word games are reachable again, and example sentences actually show up
• Shadowing progress no longer disappears when you switch speaking level, and re-listening starts at the right line
• Full VoiceOver support, better dark-mode contrast, and Portuguese permission dialogs
• Faster launch and much less storage used over time
