Right now it only works when the phone needs to be recharged. Otherwise it forces you to use the cord. **Developer response:** Thank you for noticing out the wireless issue. Grazie ### 2/5 — to improve *2018-11-24, version 1.0* excellent application but lacking essential elements. 1) the application goes into alarm mode but once the power supply returns it will sound and this may be useless if the interruption could be random or for a few seconds or minutes. 2) it could be useful to make sure that the alarm would stop in case of return of the electricity but to register the time is the date of the electrical interruption. 3) have a summary of interruptions and duration. Doesn’t make sense, how is this supposed to alert me if my phone has to remain unlocked with screen on all night. Not sure how to request a refund. Disappointed. **Developer response:** Hello, it does make sense since Apple would not allow monitoring battery in background. I verified both had the correct software update. I plugged them in to the charger and the battery indicator showed it was charging. The app kept telling me to plug it in, but it was already plugged in. I turn the app on, plugged in to power, set app to detect then wait for my phone screen to shut off. I unplug the phone and nothing happens. I put in my passcode and it works. So this is it helpful when sleeping worried about power failures. **Developer response:** Dear Subaru13WRX, I have just noticed your review and many thanks for your download!! The intended use of the app was not to monitoring any power failures when app was in background. As more and more users are asking for this feature I will update Black Out app and I believe in two weeks time you will be able to download an updated version including this feature. Thank you very much for your comments! ### 2/5 — Alert Sound = “DEAF”-CON 1 *2021-12-20* The only alert sound is DEFCON-1 (nuclear war has started) - or better stated: “DEAF”-CON 1, which scared the crap out of my entire family and neighborhood in the middle of the night, when the power went out. I have lots of stuff in deep freezer and sometimes the power is out not due to the main grid but because of a short time over voltage and fuses must be put back to on. This app lets me know and I can call my neighbour to check the fuses. Thank you. Would be better if it worked in locked screen too. It alerts us if we have a power failure while our coffee truck is in storage. We can respond before the water lines freeze and before the temp in the fridge gets in the danger zone. I can now sleep at night when the temp drops below freezing. With the sump pump going off every 45 seconds, I needed to know if we had a power failure, so I could hook pump up to a generator so water wouldn’t overfill and flood basement. I just need to know when the power goes out. Nothing more. In this remote setting, any time the weather changes, the power can go out. It’s a great app, but I have a suggestion for you. Being able to set the alarm duration is clever. However, in addition to the alarm feature, there should also be a delay option to prevent false alarms. For instance, I’d like to determine the possibility of power returning within a specified time after a power outage. That way, I wouldn’t have to interrupt my sleep in the middle of the night.
