### 3/5 — NEED HISTORY DATA

*2026-02-16, version 3.2.0*

Just like everyone else… would really love a history log with timestamps for usage, error codes, outages etc.
Great for real time, but we really want history of power data and errors!

### 3/5 — App needs updating

*2025-10-10, version 3.2.0*

As many have already stated, the app is very outdated and needs to be updated!
Device works as stated, reduces initial power draw, but it would be beneficial to have a graphic history and a note area to record power draw from different devices. We all have those pieces of paper with the amperage of all our different devices!!! Especially when on 30 amp!

### 3/5 — Lacks Historical Time-series

*2025-10-09, version 3.2.0*

PowerDog hardware is wonderful & works as expected, protects RV & everything plugged inside from external power chaos - which is great.

the app shows you real-time usage & detailed error reports when something happens. it is however missing one major, and IMO obvious feature - a timeseries graph showing a data log of kwH. I want to be able to see how the demand goes up and down - not in realtime & take notes inbtw turning components on/off - i wanna be able do log & graph historical power draw.

make it happen please!

### 3/5 — No history??

*2025-09-26, version 3.2.0*

Mine dropped out for a couple of minutes. Opened app after power came on but app shows no history, no reason for dropping power…..

### 4/5 — Awesome device, but app needs updating.

*2025-08-30, version 3.2.0*

New icon is silly. BLUETOOTH!

Really glad we upgraded to a PWD, but can we please get error logging in the app? I love that my watch will give me updates when there’s an issue, but why can’t we have the issues logged? Logging would make this pretty much perfect.

### 4/5 — Alerts when 999kwh used

*2025-07-23, version 3.1.8*

I have written to the company about this problem and they haven’t fixed it yet. This unit keeps track of energy usage. I use this for understanding how much my RV uses monthly. The device alarms through the app when you have reached 999kwh. I want to remove this. I check the app end of each month for my usage, but on particularly hot months, the rv uses closer to 1200-1300kwh causing an alarm in the app. Sometimes this happens in the middle of the night. Other than that, I love the surge protector.

### 2/5 — Basic

*2025-04-15, version 3.1.8*

Doesn’t notify losses, doesn’t log unacceptable conditions, just very basic

### 4/5 — My non EPO watchdog works with this app and not the regular app

*2025-04-12, version 3.1.8*

As stated in the title. My PWD30 surge protector doesn’t work with the Regular Power Watchdog app. It works with the EPO app. I’m not sure why but for those having trouble “finding device” give the EPO app a try. 4 stars for the inaccurate description.

### 4/5 — Great Power Protection

*2025-02-03, version 3.1.8*

It would be even better if the app had a log file that would tell me when there was a significant power event, like when requiring the Dog to cut off the power for an under voltage or a surge.

### 3/5 — appreciate app, but lacks core features

*2024-12-02, version 3.1.8*

really wish it would log & chart power metrics over time - at least starting from last on time. wild jt doesnt do that.

cannot access or modify or configure unit via app at all.

really just a display head unit

### 4/5 — Great App

*2024-10-18, version 3.1.8*

I like how the unit gives real time info. It would be helpful if a user could add notes to Line 1 and Line 2 through a hyperlink so that I know which line is powering which circuits. Currently I have a separate piece of paper to track that but it would be a great add to the app.

### 4/5 — Works

*2024-03-13, version 3.1.6*

I like this product. I would like if I could see a log of power consumed and peak/min power used. More of a diagnostic tool. Also, would be nice if it had a generator mode to know when the generator was going to surge to power an air conditioner instead of blocking the surge. Maybe a model with a capacitor.

### 4/5 — Awesome device, but app needs updating.

*2024-02-27, version 3.1.6*

Really glad we upgraded to a PWD, but can we please get error logging in the app? I love that my watch will give me updates when there’s an issue, but why can’t we have the issues logged? Logging would make this pretty much perfect.

### 2/5 — EPO

*2024-02-25, version 3.1.6*

I have the EPO 50 watt but for some reason will only run the regular app kinda annoying but it seems to work regardless

### 3/5 — Could Be Better

*2024-02-07, version 3.1.5*

The is a good surge protector but it could be better. 1) my app is fully updated and doesn’t have some of the features it’s shown to have in the pics of it in the App Store. There is no running list of every time an error code was given which it really needs. The list should also include what the error code is/was. For example the volts in line 1 were 132.8v. 2) it needs a 90 second timer. Since the power won’t come back on for 90 seconds after an error code was given and the Watchdog has shut off the power, it really needs an in app timer. 3) I have a 50amp Watchdog. Since the first time I plugged my RV power cord into the Watchdog I can’t get it unplugged. It’s like it immediately fused together at the plug end. I’ve even asked strong men to try and get the ends apart and it’s not coming apart. Also, it’s way too long. Most RV park pedestals aren’t that tall so you have to bend it in odd ways to get it to fit right. But, because it’s so long the plug end where you attach the power cord lays on the ground. If you’re in a rainy part of the country that plug end lays in a puddle of water sometimes for days/weeks on end. My last Watchdog melted together at the plug end/power cord end. I believe because of it laying in water for an extended period of time. Watchdog replaced the surge protector but not my power cord. Now I keep that end wrapped in a small tarp and covered with weatherproof tape. It looks junky and I hate it but I don’t know what else to do to protect it. The whole thing really does need improving. Especially considering how much it costs.

### 3/5 — Where is the error history?

*2023-12-22, version 3.1.5*

Please update to view error history, and also allow landscape model.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cant connect!

*2026-07-11, version 3.2.0*

Paid a lot of money for this bluetooth compatible/wifi compatible device. It wont let me connect with the QR code or by entering the device number. I get wrong id number errors. Checked the app help under cant connect and there are no instruction, just another search for id number. Cant connect with bluetooth wither even though Im standing next to it.

### 1/5 — App is useless

*2025-08-09, version 3.1.8*

The app is useless. Watchdog itself is great- had an E3 power loss- would assume the app would indicate I had lost power & have alert code definitions- but no. No history, no codes, nothing. Why have an app that does nothing?

### 1/5 — Can read QR code

*2025-07-30, version 3.1.8*

Open the app try to read the QR code on the unit. Error that it can’t read the code. No help available to figure out what’s wrong.

### 1/5 — Poorly designed app

*2025-06-12, version 3.1.8*

This is probably one of the worst apps I’ve used in an iPhone. It’s very limited and has a complicated UI. It looks nothing like an iPhone app. Mind you, I’m giving a rating specifically for this app, not the hardware.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2023-07-04, version 3.1.4*

Bought a camper with this device already installed. Keeps killing my a/c in 90 degree temps claiming I have no ground from the box. Nobody else in the campground has an issue. Can’t wait to get home and remove this trash.

### 1/5 — I’m going back.

*2023-06-26, version 3.1.4*

Just got the thing does not work as advertised, it’s going back.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2023-05-26, version 3.1.4*

Horrible app. Cant find device, or readings waay off. No way im using 2500 watts with nothing on. Seems like you cant have app on two phones at once.

### 1/5 — Needs to be fixed again.

*2022-11-08, version 3.0.1*

I updated the app and it deleted the connection to my surge protector. It won’t let me proceed until I rescan the QR code on it. Why?

### 1/5 — App updated crashes

*2022-10-23, version 3.0.0*

App updated yesterday and crashes trying to open on IPhone 12 today.

### 1/5 — Update 10-22-22

*2022-10-22, version 3.0.0*

After updating on my iPhone, I have been unable to open the app. Now completely unable to open the “new” version. Don’t update if you want to continue to use it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-06-23, version 3.2.0*

We love the that we don’t have to worry about anything.

### 5/5 — Helpful tool for RV

*2026-04-11, version 3.2.0*

We have returned to an RV site for the thrift time, always getting the same spot. This third time, the pedestal has a short in the 50amp plug and breaker. The watchdog helped me identify the problem and we were able to notify the owners for repair. I love the WiFi connection although I didn’t expect yo ever use it.

### 5/5 — Peace of mind

*2025-07-29*

I have my 30 AMP unit for seven months now and gave take it from NJ to Florida twice and Florida to California and am in Tennessee on my way back to NJ now. That’s a lot of miles and numerous campgrounds.
It gives me comfort knowing that I won’t fry the electronics in my camper. The cost of the unit is less than the deductible and don’t lose the camper for an undetermined amount of time.

### 5/5 — PWD50EPO

*2025-07-19, version 3.1.8*

My device quit working, company replaced it with a new unit, under warranty after 5 years of use.

### 5/5 — Why WATCH DOG?

*2025-05-06, version 3.1.8*

I’ve been RV ing for over 30 years. When a spike costs thousands to Repair and you can’t operate the trailer to pull the slides in or out . You start to scratch your head and wonder how much money is this going to cost? It’s nice to look at your phone and see what’s going on. Watch Dog gives you peace of mind with all the protection you need. I Highly recommend this one.

### 5/5 — Protecting your RV!!! or Else $$$$$!

### 5/5 — Works Great

*2024-12-04, version 3.1.8*

We have had ours for four years and love it, it helps us to know how much electricity we have used and any problems!

### 5/5 — Good protection for your rig

*2024-11-10, version 3.1.8*

Just pulled in to a spot and plugged the unit in and couldn’t get all green. The camp host switched out the breaker and now all green. Well worth the extra step to save your rig.
