When the timer runs only some of the blinds open as expected and it’s never the same ones. I can’t even use the app to open single windows because it bugs out and won’t do anything. Just use the remote, that’s what I do. I’ll return the hub and get something that actually works. ### 1/5 — A solution to the timer program *2023-01-15, version 1.0* It took a while but I’ve found a solution to the timer problem. Follow the programming sequence below: If it is necessary to program a new shade down position for your shades, make sure that you erase the factory set shade down position following directions provided with the Remote On the P2 Powermate app, program a scene for each shade to open and for each shade to close Program all open shade scenes first with at least a one second progressive delay for each shade (ie., Shade 1, open immediate, Shade 2, 1 second delay, Shade 3, 2 second delay, etc.) Then program all close shade scenes with at least one second progressive delay for each shade (ie., Shade 1, close immediate, Shade 2, 1 second delay, Shade 3, 2 second delay, etc.) After creating and saving each Open scene, Slide the Scene icon to the left and touch the “Timer” icon and set the same open time on all shade open scenes After creating and saving each Close scene, Slide the Scene icon to the left and touch the “Timer” icon and set the same close time on all shade close scenes ### 1/5 — Timer works only intermittently *2023-01-06, version 1.0* The timer does not always work, really annoying! ### 1/5 — Really bad *2023-01-05, version 1.0* I have the same problem as other users, where some shades just don’t participate in opening or closing automations. It really doesn’t make any sense and it’s definitely not user error. This really needs to be fixed. It’s clear that this software was written by non English speakers because the English is awkward. It’s also clear that this isn’t written by experienced software engineers. I regret buying these shades. ### 1/5 — App will not add device *2022-12-31, version 1.0* The app will not add device. The device will connect to my WiFi and my WiFi confirms the connection. I have tried several different WiFi routers and several different devices, all with the same result. The app times out without connecting the device. I purchased the smart hub to connect my window coverings which is useless without the WiFi connection through the app. ### 1/5 — Schedule function works sporadically *2022-11-06, version 1.0* The use case for most people is to schedule blinds to open or close at a time. This only works 80% of the time. I have tried spacing the timing of the individual blinds by several minutes, but doesn’t help. There were a couple of days where 2/3 shades would function properly, per the timer settings, but they never all worked properly together. I have them all set up individually so it’s not a grouping issue. And it’s not always the same shade that’s not functioning…sometimes it’s one of the side shades, other times it’s the center shade, other times only 1 of them works with the timer. However, I can use the app for manually opening/closing, but I’d like to set a schedule. What’s the point of having a timer function if it doesn’t work?? Same complaints years later. Look at these bad reviews and unresolved problems. If you can return your automated products to save yourself aggravation, do so. ### 1/5 — App won’t connect to the hub *2024-11-10, version 1.0* The app stopped communicating with my hub, even though it had been working for years. I tried deleting and re-adding the hub, but the setup process fails after you specify the WiFi SSID and password. I even tried a new hub thinking it was a fault with hardware, but no difference. ### 1/5 — Fail *2024-11-07, version 1.0* App just stopped logging in. Says my network is the problem. No happy at all. ### 1/5 — Complete garbage - don’t buy this system *2023-08-21* Purchased “automated” blinds from blinds.com and had to buy an expensive hub that worked with this app. As other reviewers have said, nothing works as advertised. I have six motorized blinds that were all setup correctly. None work consistently, nor simultaneously, or on timers. You can’t even tell which shade is opened or closed on the app. The manufacturer won’t take responsibility for falsely advertising and says they “don’t guarantee they will work”. What a waste of money that I can’t get back. Contrary to other reviews, it does work on the iPhone. I was able to easily pair the powermate to my devices. It did take two tries for one of my shades. The scenes feature is great and allows you to run multiple actions with any timeframe. It seems the powermate can only do one item at once, so each action must be at least a second apart. Sometimes all items don’t get activated in a scene, but that is likely a hardware issue as opposed to the app. ### 3/5 — Basic utility, lacks features *2020-10-26, version 1.0* The Powermate P2 and this app are very basic. It’s functional, but barely just enough to get your blinds integrated with Alexa or your flavor of home automation. Fortunately there is an Amazon skill that allows Alexa to work with the Powermate P2 device. Important to note that you cannot group devices outside of this app because if Alexa tries to control more than one device at the same time it won’t work as it seems the Powermate device can only send one signal at a time. The workaround is that in this app you can set a scene with a delay for each control, and then call up that scene with Alexa. Kind of a cludge but it works.. What would be nice is if this app had the ability to automate based on sunset, and some other way to verify that command sent was actually performed to the shade. I understand the limitations of the one way protocol but at least maybe send a follow up command 15 seconds after for example to make sure that a blind that was told to go up/down actually did. ### 2/5 — Needs improvement update *2024-08-01, version 1.0* Needs improvement update ### 2/5 — Stopped working *2024-03-10, version 1.0* This app has been working normally for about 2 years, opening and closing 2 shades. It stopped working today, it won’t connect and when I try to delete hub it says, “Login failed, please check your network connection”. I tried deleting and reinstalling app but it wouldn’t connect on iPhone. I tried app on iPad and it miraculously connected but was not able to use old account so had to start from scratch. Will see if it works and for how long ### 2/5 — Needs more customizability in schedule *2023-10-04, version 1.0* The fabric blinds I’m controlling have an internal fabric “blind” that makes the window treatment opaque when nearly fully open. There needs to be a setting that says open completely then close for X seconds so that I don’t have to manually do this to allow the window treatment to be opaque. Right now, “fully open” means I have fabric slats and “fully closed” means that the fabric is rolled up and not visible. I really need a way to have it “nearly almost all the way open”.
