### 2/5 — Calculator Unavailable

*2025-08-12*

I’ve used PowerOne calculators for a long time, including the previous versions which separated finance features from scientific features. I’ve liked them. I just noticed today with the updated model that I can’t get to the calculator. When I click the calculator button (lower right of screen), I now get sent to a page offering a subscription to premium features. When I click not now, it goes back to the templates and I do not get the calculator. This is happening on my iPad Pro and on my iPhone. I’m using the most up to date versions of the app and iOS/iPadOS. Any idea where the calculator is? Is it now only available with a subscription?

### 4/5 — Calculated Power one

*2025-07-26, version 6.4.4*

Great features and Functions, ease of use and most convenient layout and structure combined into this modest and (for me) most useful tool that is a fabulous
and valuable ready to use piece of kit that accompanies me and my travels wherever they may lead.

### 3/5 — Older layout was better

*2025-02-13, version 6.4.4*

This calculator is very powerful but not as visual attractive as it used to be. I know that I don’t make full use of its capabilities but I enjoyed the look and feel of the old layout better than the new one.

### 2/5 — Use to be 5 star, not now

*2024-12-16, version 6.4.4*

This was a fantastic app in the past — look at all the older reviews — but now charging monthly or annual subscription fee for anything more than 3 calculator functions/templates. I mean it’s still good, but in the end these are all mostly just basic math (spreadsheet) functions. I miss the old pay once for premium approach, otherwise these monthly subscriptions are just too rich for me.

### 4/5 — Disappointed

*2024-09-23*

Updated 9/23 - thanks for the quick response. My error not seeing the conversions initially. I did like the old version better but definitely still a usable and convenient app. Sorry for the initial rating.

I used to have the app but lost it when I just purchased a new phone. Said app no longer available in App Store, even though I paid for the original. New version does not include the metric conversion tools…I am assuming if I pay $2.99 a month they may be in there, but I’ll never know because I’m not paying for something I already paid for.

**Developer response:** Hi Djfjsnsk,

Sorry you are disappointed in PowerOne 6. I believe what you are looking for is available for free, though. Tap + then Add from Library and you will find that most of the templates are available at no charge. We have a wide selection of conversions available for instance.

Please feel free to email me directly if I can help further. There’s a contact support link in the app.

### 2/5 — was now not

*2024-07-28, version 6.4.3*

was my go to calculator. After phone upgrade developer does not honour my earlier premium purchase for premium and wants a monthly charge. No no no way. The mug also changed the ui to make it hard to use. dumb and dumber reins supreme

### 2/5 — Old app was better

*2024-06-19, version 6.4.3*

As the title goes, personally thought the old app is better.

### 5/5 — Love PowerOne!

*2024-06-07*

I feel this is the best financial (and other) calculator there is. The simplicity of use can’t be beat. I use the Time Value of Money the most, frankly. Running calculations while deciding on investments is invaluable to me. I also use the Revolving Debt and General Loan calculators a lot. I honestly use this calculator almost everyday.

### 5/5 — For business & personal needs.

*2024-04-07, version 6.4.2*

Best all around application!

### 4/5 — Very impressed

*2024-02-29*

The new version of this calculator is very impressive. It has a lot of flexibilities added compared to the old version. The user can easily set the arrangement of the functions menu based on their needs. The program writing capabilities have also been made a lot more user friendly. I am glad that it now has the engineering format but unfortunately it is currently ignored when in programming mode.

**Developer response:** Hi Omid F,

Thanks for the kind words and so glad you like PowerOne 6! Would love to know more about what you are thinking for programming modes and engineering format. Please email me at help@power.one if you'd like to discuss.

### 3/5 — App crashes N number of times

*2023-11-03*

Very nice app but The app crashes alot. It is very very difficult to work in this app due to endless crashes

**Developer response:** Hi Umangkej,

So happy you like PowerOne! Would love to figure out what is crashing. If you would like to help, please email me at help@power.one.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-05-27, version 6.4.6*

Payed for a yearly subscription and when i go to use it ,nothing works, just asks if i want to pay for subscription

### 1/5 — Miss old app!

*2026-03-01, version 6.4.6*

PLEASE READ THIS,
The old app was way nicer! So handy to flip back and forth from loan to savings.
History was better. Displayed on calculator screen. Now it’s not and when you go to history it’s a nightmare to read it.
New version is just BAD.
I would pay to get old version back!

### 1/5 — Crooks

*2025-10-03, version 6.4.6*

I had bought the PowerOne calculator before now. They’ve removed it from the web store so I can buy their subscription only version. This is not on this is criminal and unethical. Please don’t support this company.

### 1/5 — Used to be able to use without paying

*2025-08-13, version 6.4.6*

Opened this up today and found I can no longer use the calculator at all without paying. I am paywalled by the “Do more with premium“ ad covering the button that opens the simple calculator. Classy move, thanks for taking away free use.

### 1/5 — After Update, Calculator Locked

*2025-08-12, version 6.4.5*

Calculator will show you the listing of templates but will not allow access to the calculator.

### 1/5 — Miss old app!

*2025-07-19, version 6.4.4*

The old app was way nicer! So handy to flip back and forth from call to loan to savings.
History was better.
New version is a pain.
I would pay to get old version back!

### 1/5 — Lost my favorite App

*2025-03-03*

I Just changed to a newer iPhone, and no longer have access to my favorite app, “Power One Financial Calculator”. Sadly, this same developer made a worse and more cumbersome version of it. I used to be able to calculate my 401k, and see the depreciation of an investment account, (without internet access!) but now I would have to pay eternally recurring payments to have access to all of that. And I have to search and add every template to get the list of templates I had before, and those I do get have parts of them removed, so I can’t reverse my calculations. The free versions of my most used templates are hamstrung. I’ll now need to use formulas in numbers until I can find a better and faster iOS financial calculator to replace what is now “Advanced” Savjngs and 401(K) I wish there was a better way to support developers of relatively simple apps like this.

**Developer response:** Hi EzraEngle,

I’m happy to help with this. The upgrade from PowerOne 4 to 6 used to be more seamless (transferred templates automatically, etc) but PowerOne 4 no longer runs on modern iOS devices. Instead I am helping customers one off.

In short, it is my intention that you should not lose anything when upgrading. Please email me at hello@thecraftyweasel.com with the account used in PowerOne, confirm the version of PowerOne 4 you used, and I’ll make sure you have the same capabilities you had before at no additional charge.

### 1/5 — Unusable now

*2024-08-31, version 6.4.3*

This app used to be my favorite calculator app. Now it’s the worst! Do not download this app! It’s extremely frustrating to use and it keeps wanting you to pay for the upgrade!

### 1/5 — RIP dear friend

*2024-08-21, version 6.4.3*

I understand that developers want to make money and start charging for a new “upgraded” app, but what I cannot abide is when they disable older apps -which, in the case of PowerOne, were far better and more intuitive than the new one- in order to force users to switch to the more profitable app. This is why nowadays the entire Apple AppStore ecosystem is a disgrace for those like me who have been here since day 1.

### 1/5 — was good before, pass on this

*2023-07-07, version 6.4.1*

this worked well a few years ago. now its just too much trouble to set up a calculator and there is a super expensive subscription model

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Greedy

*2026-05-27*

I’ve had the earlier version of this on my iPad for years. I’ve written dozens of templates for custom applications I used in the office. I was aware that they were no longer supporting it, but when I had to restore my iPad, it couldn’t download the app because they took it off the server. That’s the Apple server, the App Store.
And all this because they weren’t charging for the first one and discovered that they could charge for the second one. They’re lame excuse “due to a massive server, crash“ was such a cop out. I’m a programmer and you know exactly how these things work. It’s a total cop out and now I’ve lost a good calculator.
I would gladly pay a flat fee for the original version to be able to restore all the templates I have written.

**Developer response:** Hi Namaste122112,

I discontinued PowerOne Finance Pro, Scientific Pro and the free versions in 2018. Unfortunately they no longer function on Apple’s latest OS version, but my latest version, PowerOne 6, does and is available here:
https://power.one/ios

Fundamentally the templates are the same. (Tap + at the top of the list then Add from Library to add any templates you are interested in.) The calculator is now available from all screens and offers a lot more customization options. Also, if you have PowerOne on multiple devices and signed into the same account, all of your templates and calculations will sync.

I promised to provide the same functionality as you previously had so you didn’t lose anything in the process. This used to be automatic but with the old app no longer functioning I can only add these for those who write in. With that and once you install, run and tap Get Started, tap ••• in the top, right corner of the list then Account and send me the anonymous email address listed. I can add free template creation and premium templates. Other items will still be available for subscription if you so choose.

If you have access to the old version on your old iPad or exported your templates for safe keeping, I’m happy to help you move those to the new version as well.

Please email if you would like my help.

### 5/5 — Update on “Wipes Out All My Library”

*2026-02-18*

The dev got back to me with an easy fix involving logging out & back in on my other device. It’s now a great app again with all my library intact! One of my most useful apps because I like to write my own single-purpose calculator mini-apps. Example: What percent of 283 is 47?

**Developer response:** Hi tomtrevorrow,

Happy to help. There could be a couple of possibilities here, but one of the reasons I built version 6 (the current version) is so we can sync your templates across devices and thus make sure they weren’t lost on a device failure.

Were you using PowerOne 6 or an earlier version? Did you move to a new phone and have to log in again/create a new account? Or maybe you were on an earlier version of the app?

Whatever the case please email me directly and I will do my best to help.

### 5/5 — Good program great service

*2026-02-10, version 6.4.6*

I have used this program for years now. The application has multiple benefits. The customer service has also shown to be quite helpful in the chance of issues that may arise.

### 5/5 — Other Languages

*2025-10-08, version 6.4.6*

One of the best! It would be great if the app is available in more languages.

### 5/5 — Calculator Was Unavailable — Problem Fixed

*2025-08-14*

I’ve used PowerOne calculators for a long time, including the previous versions which separated finance features from scientific features. I’ve liked them. A recent update introduced a bug preventing users of the free version from getting to the calculator. That bug was fixed with a new update. Everything is back to working. Great calculator for an iPad or iPhone. So I’ve updated my review to 5 stars.

**Developer response:** Hi BillW314,

This is an unfortunate bug that was introduced in the previous release. A new version has been released that fixes the issue. You can either wait for Apple to update you automatically or go to PowerOne calculator in the App Store to manually update to the latest version.

### 5/5 — Can’t open calculator

*2025-08-14, version 6.4.6*

App NO LONGER lets you open the actual calculator. It just keeps insisting on subscribing, and that screen never goes away.

UPDATE!
They just released another update in the App Store, and this thankfully fixes the issue I reported above. So, the review is now back to 5 stars!

### 5/5 — Time value of money is incredible

*2025-07-16, version 6.4.4*

I love this app. I've used for years. Nothing comes close. My fav is the time value of money. It really hepls in planning.

### 5/5 — A Must for anyone in finance

*2025-06-21, version 6.4.4*

Without a doubt, PowerOne is the best financial calculator I have ever used. Just about anything I need in Excel I can replicate in the app, and it is often even easier to use than Excel (and certainly more convenient). Essential for calculating complex quotes and other needs on the fly.

### 5/5 — Lost my favorite App, then found it again.

*2025-03-07*

Update: the developer fixed my issues, so glad to have functionality back again in the new app. :)

I Just changed to a newer iPhone, and no longer have access to my favorite app, “Power One Financial Calculator”. Sadly, this same developer made a worse and more cumbersome version of it. ### 5/5 — Still Excellent, Probably The Best

*2024-07-09, version 6.4.3*

I have been using this calculator since it was on the Palm Pilot. It’s great. All those HP imitation calculators are also-rans.
