### 2/5 — As good as they get?

*2026-07-13, version 3.17.0*

Great when it works but seldom works. Still have to rely on puck remotes. App randomly won’t function even with full wifi coverage. C’mon guys do better. We won’t install Hunter Douglas next time and will follow the sales rep’s advice to competitors with better apps.

### 2/5 — Drains iPhone battery

*2026-07-11, version 3.17.0*

It constantly pings Bluetooth and may do other things to drain my iPhone battery. I have to recharge my phone more often now. Any suggestions?

### 3/5 — Inversion double store

*2026-06-26, version 3.17.0*

C’est un détail mais sur le visuel des fenêtres avec double tissus, le voilage et inversé avec l’occultant.

### 2/5 — App can’t find existing windows

*2026-06-25, version 3.17.0*

I installed PowerView shades in Nov. 2025. In June, 2026 I tried to also install iPhone app because the remote battery function is malfunctioning. The iPhone app is unable to find the existing installed shades. At the moment I have had to install new batteries 4 times in one week. I have tried the H-D website for a couple of hours trying to resolve, but no solution available.

### 2/5 — Stopped working

*2026-06-15, version 3.17.0*

Since the last update I need to reset the WiFi extender each time for the blinds to work

### 2/5 — Meh, Lacking Key Features

*2026-06-13, version 3.17.0*

A glorified version of the remotes that come with the blinds. Don't recommend. If you spend tens of thousands on blinds you expect them to do basic things they cannot do. I recommend buying elsewhere.

### 3/5 — Changing owner’s email address not thought through by developer

*2026-04-20*

The app has been quite handy. My criticism is that you cannot change your email address without deleting your account and starting from scratch. I thought I could just transfer the ownership to my new email address, but when I “accept” with my new email address on my phone, it takes me to my existing account and I get caught in a loop. The developers need to allow a way to do this like most other apps do. I really don’t want to spend my time re-configuring all my shades.

### 4/5 — Good access to features

*2026-04-01, version 3.15.1*

Works well with iPhone, but must frequently use app to reconnect with Apple Watch. Once reconnected, Watch works well. So, Watch use is generally unreliable since it frequently disconnects after initial Integration setup.

### 3/5 — App Response

*2026-03-28, version 3.15.1*

1) When invoking a scene in a room, the app becomes unresponsive.
2) There’s no way to engage ALL shades at once.
3) Would be really nice to know when one of my shade batteries are low so I can change it before it simply runs out if power and then I have to recalibrate the shade.

### 3/5 — App Response

*2026-02-27, version 3.15.0*

1) When invoking a scene in a room, the app becomes unresponsive.
2) There’s no way to engage ALL shades at once.

### 4/5 — Battery Drain

*2026-02-11, version 3.14.2*

It’s nice to have the app automatically open and close the shades. However, my battery is completely drained after a little over 1 year. I was told it should last about 5 yrs. Sounds like it may be the latest update. I also don’t like having to continue to open the app to reconnect communication with the shade.

### 3/5 — Finicky stuff

*2026-01-29, version 3.14.2*

The idea is good. The execution is almost there. It would be very nice to see a firmware update for Matter support. Our hub and blinds are constantly loosing connection in Apple
home, and I think Matter support may fix it, but maybe not. Matter is the way, and HD have not yet found their path… I might try some Meross products to see
If they are better.

### 2/5 — Less than 50% reliable

*2026-01-11, version 3.14.2*

Great concept. Bad reality. We have three windows attached and open and close those blinds together - well, we attempt to. I’d say the app works about 40% of the time on the first try. Eventually, we get all three sets open or closed but very rarely on the first attempt (as it is set up to do).

### 1/5 — Not Discovering the duvet shade

*2025-11-11, version 3.14.1*

I did everything, resetting shade, my hub , nothing work, the shade are contented to remote , but won’t get discover in app

### 2/5 — Recent issues with ios26.1 update

*2025-11-05, version 3.14.0*

Been working great until I updated my phone to iPhone 17 and iOS 26.1!

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-10-25, version 3.13.1*

Will not detect product.
No clear instruction on how to make shades discoverable.
Unusable app.

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2025-10-19, version 3.13.1*

This app is terrible. It is antiquated. Very buggy. Constantly has trouble even if you are on your home network. You can’t control individual blinds from outside your home. Hoping Google Home can replace this horrible app somehow.

### 1/5 — App won’t open

*2025-10-12, version 3.13.1*

I have an iPhone 15 pro, with IOS version 18.7.1. The PowerView app shows as current (no update available) but every time I try to open the app it just crashes within a second.

### 1/5 — Can’t get the schedule I put in to work

*2025-09-26, version 3.13.1*

The process is so confusing you can schedule on one page but you have to put the shades where you want them on another page and you do it just goes back. I have read the directions and had the installer show me and it doesn’t work the way I want.

### 1/5 — iOS 26 Update Needed

*2025-09-16, version 3.13.1*

Ever since I installed iOS 26, the app no longer works. It won’t fully launch and I just get a blank screen.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2026-08-11, version 3.17.1*

Crashes on open.

### 1/5 — Can't find a home

*2026-08-05, version 3.17.1*

Had someone from the IT department try to get the app to recommit the Gen 3 Gateway to no avail.

### 1/5 — L update removing Apple Watch support

*2026-08-05, version 3.17.1*

I don’t know why they removed Apple Watch support, but that is very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-07-15, version 3.17.0*

This app, the blinds, and the little relays never work. I have the blinds scheduled to open and close on their own, but they don’t. I try to use the app to open or close the window but it doesn’t connect! We have had someone out to look at it several times, but it is expensive and only lasts for a month or so.

I will never buy blinds from them again! Something that should be easy is such a pain!!

### 1/5 — The app stopped working!

*2026-06-16, version 3.17.0*

Gen2 system here no longer sees my Holme network despite being on the same WiFi and the remote connect feature no longer triggers any scene whatsoever.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t support basic iOS automation

*2026-05-03, version 3.16.0*

The shades are great but what on earth is my “docid”?! This app is a prime candidate for shortcuts integration but that apparently requires some low level setup that even my installer was clueless about.

### 1/5 — Horrible configuration setup

*2026-02-02, version 3.14.2*

Worked great after initial install but had to change my gateway and never got it going again. All guides say “follow the instructions on the app” except the app can’t even discover a gateway next to it. Switched everything to the shade store out of frustration

### 1/5 — Does not open after update

*2025-12-10, version 3.14.1*

No longer works after last update

### 1/5 — PowerView never works with the shades

*2025-11-26, version 3.14.1*

I’ve had this app and my hunter douglass shades for 5+ years and I regret paying for the shades and the “ability” to control them over the internet. I’ve contacted my local dealer and hunter douglas several times and no one can get the power view hub to talk to my shades. It sits about 5 feet from the shades so there is no problem with distance.

I wish I could have my time and money back.

### 1/5 — Lemon

*2025-11-13, version 3.14.1*

App usually takes 3-4 attempts to fully exexcute shade command. After trying for 1 year I have ordered additional remotes so I don't have to use this app anymore.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very well designed feature set

*2025-09-12, version 3.13.1*

During setup, there were several times I caught myself thinking, “It would be nice if I could…” (for example, set schedules with time offsets based on that day’s exact sunset time or control shades in custom groups). Each time, the system could actually do it.

### 5/5 — Parfait

*2025-05-07, version 3.11.2*

Application très claire et complète utilisée pour l’ouverture et fermeture de stores à enrouleur intérieurs.

### 5/5 — Stopped working

*2025-03-02, version 3.11.0*

PowerView stopped working. When I try to open it, the app shuts down. Seems to have coincided with recent iPhone update. Anyone else experiencing issues? 5 stars based on previous functionality.

### 5/5 — Developer support and api

*2024-05-02*

First, a great physical blind product.
Second, this app is really really good.
Third, while doesn’t matter to most people, their api and documentation of the api is benchmark. I have developed a home automation plugin for Universal Devices EISY product (the best home automation product). Hunter Douglas does not seem to look at this as competition as some companies do. They get that there are many use cases out there which are complementary to their app and embrace it. Very refreshing. So I just spent $10k on more blinds with HD. What more is there to say. Keep it up.

### 5/5 — Simple

*2022-04-28, version 3.0.6*

System works seamlessly with my Hunter Douglas and MHZ Shades. Easy integration to my Alexa and Apple HomeKit.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2021-08-25*

Love the PowerView App. We’ve set up a few automations that work flawlessly throughout the day. The app and automations continued to function when my internet was down (from a storm). Once you learn it, it’s pretty easy to use. My favorite is setting up closures to happen 15 min before sunset. It automatically adjusts daily depending on the sunset time. If I have any complaint it’s if I leave the app open on my iPhone it appears to increase battery consumption. So I’ll open, execute then swipe up to close.

### 5/5 — Great

*2021-02-12, version 2.7.3*

Awesome system

### 5/5 — Do it!

*2021-01-25, version 2.7.3*

We’ve been living with the PowerView shades in our new house for about 3 months. We’ve developed several scenes and automations, and continue to figure out how we live and interact with light and outside heat/cold. Even though we’re still evolving, we love the motorized shades. In fact, we’ve said they’re probably the most underrated item in our new house, we didn’t think we would love them as much as we do. They’re costly, but if you can afford them, DO IT!

### 5/5 — 給懶人用的智慧聯網設備

*2020-12-31, version 2.7.3*

太棒了好用又穩定，若是支援Homekit就太棒了

### 5/5 — Why did I wait so long to automate?!!

*2020-12-16, version 2.7.3*

PowerView is so easy to use and fun to set up! I love not having to open & shut all the blinds in the back of my house every day. It was also a great transition to get away from my cord lift blinds, that are dangerous for little ones. I actually hated the cords anyway, because they were always getting tangled in plants or whatever was beneath. I paired PowerView with Provenance shades, and they are beautiful!! Highly recommend!
