Going to order one for my parents! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poor customer service *2023-05-05* Pushed software update to my device since it couldn’t calibrate. Now customer service has bricked my sensor and says sorry they can’t replace it. Wouldn’t recommend the device or customer service even though I was a kick starter contributor and had high hopes for the product! ### 1/5 — House fire hazard *2023-02-16, version 2.2.22* Apparently the electrical unit shipped and still shows the wrong installation guide online. Tech support first told me the unit wouldn’t power on due to outdated firmware. Then I was put in touch with a support engineer - who told me I installed the unit wrong, but in reality they built it wrong and their instructions they sent with the unit were wrong for wiring direct to my house’s wiring panel. Apparently in their help page it’s noted, but their own first line support staff is unaware of this fatal instruction on their website. I purchased their launch kit to install in my new build house. They never reached out to let me know the product they sold me was built wrong. If they can’t figure out how to label 3 wires correctly - when is this thing gonna burn down my new house? FYI tech support is only available 10am to 3pm east coast time and I got asked to power cycle a device that wouldn’t turn on as part of the process. Good idea - Waste of money and time to buy this product. Hopefully another company brings a better product to market that has the competency to do it right. ### 1/5 — Still not working months later *2023-01-10, version 2.2.18* Thought I’d log back into this app after a couple months and see what it had recorded and I am shocked to see that after a while it stopped recording data. The app is completely blank for the last three months. ### 1/5 — Very basic and buggy app with limited usefulness. *2022-07-01, version 2.2.5* The app used to work ok, but now the app just hangs at startup. Uninstall it, reinstall, works for awhile, then it hangs again. Honestly the whole setup feels like I wasted $500. Even when it works, the app feels empty like it was just built yesterday and is still waiting for basic features and functionality to be added. Several months of ownership and the app just crashes more, no new functionality. I’m guessing this company won’t be around long. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2022-06-19, version 2.2.2* I purchased the whole set of sensors and was excited by the advertisements. The reality has been far below expectations. The app has many problems. I’ve worked with the company support and while they’re responsive and try to be helpful, the actual app/service updates don’t come. The latest update has effectively broken the app. This has been a big waste of money. ### 1/5 — Does NOT work *2022-06-04, version 2.2.1* This product simply does not work, reading is constantly incorrect — completely wrong. Support simply says it’s a known issue that they are fixing, but no fixes. All the positive reviews appear to be fake reviews with no details. I’ll be posting a more thorough review on Google about the product overall. Don’t waste your money buying PowerX. ### 1/5 — Device doesn’t work *2022-05-28, version 2.1.5* Looking for a device that reads live watts and even co tasted company in advance to verify that functionality. Received device, paid hundreds to have an electrician install, and the software doesn’t work. Support says known issue affecting a number of users (all?) and they’re working on a release update to solve. Very maddening given that’s why I bought the product. Buyer beware. If they don’t fix within a few weeks I’ll return and buy a competitor product. ### 3/5 — New update problem *2022-06-03, version 2.2.1* The new update has made my app stay on a white screen with the power x logo and it stays they and doesn’t move. I have tried restarting my phone and reinstalling the app and nothing fixes it ### 4/5 — One problem *2022-07-28, version 2.2.7* Just recently installed my PowerX electric and I can’t seem to figure out the reporting. I’ve tracked my smart meter from 12am to 12am 24hrs and it showed 11KWhs used. The PowerX electric shows double the usage at 22KWhs. It’s done this for 2 days now. It tracks the meter but at double the amount for some reason.
