I wanted to storm off into a rough part of my city to demand my bike back from the gang who had taken it, but thought better off it. Persuading the police to go instead was harder than I thought it would be and took a lot of persistence. Then I was surprised to find there was no way to share the location from the app with the police. I had to text the lead officer updates with my own description of where the bike was. This is a must have feature and the app is pretty useless without it. The police persued the bike when they could for three hours based on the text message updates I sent them. Every time the police almost got them, they cycled off and my text updates were too slow for the police to catch up. The thief with my bike did get tired of being chased though and abandoned my bike in a wood. Based on the location I sent them the police failed to find it. 6 hours later the GPS coordate updated and put the bike 20 metres away from where it had been. I was able to use the new location to get my bike back. It was very well hidden, but the coordinates were now spot on. The old coordinate had just been wrong and not been updated quick enough. So I'm very pleased that I got my bike back, but the app was too slow to update the location and it was also very hard to share my bike's location with the police. ### 2/5 — Ungenauigkeit *2024-10-22* Ich habe das Gerät nun 3 Jahre aber von genauer Ortung sind wir weit weg. Bis zu 100 m falsch Anzeige des Standortes und das in der Stadt. Da brauch ich nicht auf die Suche zu gehen. Hier muss noch mächtig nachgebessert werden. Geht vielleicht mal besser wenn es die 4G Variante mal gibt. ### 3/5 — Perfectible *2024-09-17* Appli moyenne dans l’ensemble, aucune nouvelle fonctionnalité depuis plusieurs années tels que le support de l’Apple Watch pour déverrouiller le vélo et toujours des bugs d’affichage des parcours ou de la position du vélo ainsi que des problèmes de latence lors du verrouillage/déverrouillage (même en 5G) qui ne sont toujours pas réglés….bref il serait temps d’apporter des mises à jour utiles ! **Developer response:** Many thanks for your feedback. Die Watch wird nicht unterstützt. ### 2/5 — Switches itself on and off *2024-08-21, version 3.15.0719* This app isn’t fit for purpose, it just needs to load up, allow us to switch the lock on and off - it can’t do these things consistently. I have to wait minutes for it to load and then press the lock button a dozen times. Using it is an exercise in frustration. ### 2/5 — Gute Werbung, Qualitativ schlecht *2024-07-30* Auch ich habe mir das knapp 200 € teure GPS Module gekauft und ich muss sagen ich bin sehr enttäuscht davon . Montiert habe ich es an einem Brose Motor. Ich war sehr enttäuscht darüber, dass man hier mit Stromdiebe arbeitet und nicht in der Lage ist einen Y Stecker oder Ähnliches zu verbauen. die Stromdiebe verursachen ständig Wackelkontakt. Somit wird der Trecker nicht aufgeladen. Etliche Versuche ergaben kein Erfolg. Immer wieder setzt der Strom aus. Auch die App ist nicht in der Lage, vorher eine Nachricht zu senden, dass der Akku leer ist. Mein Fazit: alles nur gute Werbung. Das Produkt hat mich leider nicht überzeugt schon gar nicht mit Stromdiebe. ### 3/5 — Abschließen geht nur schwerfällig *2024-05-27* Wenn ich das Rad abschließen möchte, muss ich häufig 3-4 mal drauf klicken. Das hat auch schon dazu geführt, dass es nicht abgeschlossen war. Dann bekomme ich natürlich auch keinen Alarm. Ohne diese zuverlässige Funktion ist die App nicht zu empfehlen. ### 4/5 — Works and does what it says would… *2024-04-05, version 3.13.1218* …but whenever I open the app any media playing on my iPad or iPhone stops playing. Not a major issue but a little frustrating. ### 3/5 — Höhen und Tiefen *2024-04-04* Der GPS-Tracker ist grundsätzlich eine großartige Idee, die Umsetzung leider jedoch zumeist holprig. Der erste GPS-Tracker funktionierte gar nicht, er wurde vom Händler anstandslos umgetauscht. Der zweite Tracker aktualisiert den Standort leider nur dürftig. Manchmal ist der Standort genau, zumeist jedoch um die 200m daneben. Und das in einer kleinen Großstadt mit nicht allzu hohen Häusern. Da sollte mehr möglich sein. Leider funktioniert der Empfang im Kellerabteil gar nicht, obwohl das Handy dort empfangsmäßig immerhin drei von fünf Balken hat und ich gut telefonieren kann. Ich habe mich trotzdem für ein Dreijahresabo entschieden, in der Hoffnung, dass es dann funktioniert, wenn es mal drauf ankommen sollte. Es ist schade, dass ich mich darauf nicht verlassen kann, aber gar kein GPS-Schutz ist auch nicht besser. So gehe ich das teure Risiko ein und hoffe auf baldige (Standort-)Verbesserungen. Die vielen positiven Videos sind sicherlich gut für die Publicity, ich brauche aber nicht jede Woche eine tolle neue Story (dass es oftmals auch erfolglos läuft, liest man ja oft genug), sondern würde mir lieber mehr Geld in die Entwicklung für eine bessere Ortung und eine insgesamt qualitative Verbesserung der App wünschen. ### 2/5 — Kein Alarmton mehr *2024-03-30* Ich bekomme keinen lauten Alarmton mehr, nur eine stumme Nachricht auf meinem Handy. Warum? ### 2/5 — App überzeugt nicht *2024-03-28* Mal wird der Alarm-Akku als leer dargestellt, dann gibt’s ein Signal auf das iPad zu Hause, jedoch nicht auf das Handy (zum Glück kein Diebstahl, nur vergessen die Überwachung auszuschalten), keine Watch-App, etc. Irgendwie steckt das Team viel Zeit in YouTube-Erfolgsstories, etwas mehr Funktionen und Stabilität in der App wären gut. ### 2/5 — App stürzt ab *2024-03-19* Leider stürzt die App beim Antippen des aktuellen Standorts des Bikes auf der Karte in der App ab. Schade. ### 2/5 — Funktioniert genau beim Diebstahl nicht *2023-11-10* Genau als mein Ebike gestohlen wirde geht der Tracker nicht. Erst stunden später hatte ich ein signal. Hatte zwischenzeitig viele alarm Benachrichtigungen aber kein standort. Zudem fehlt eine Nahbereichsortung per Bluethooth so konnte ich das Fahrrad am ende Orten, aber der Polizei nicht beweisen das es wirklich im Haus des Diebes ist da ich keine nahbereichsortung machen kann. Also wenn die GPS antenne ordentlich stärker wird und die app mal gescheit laufen würde und mehr funktionen bekommt, bsp Sensibilität der bewegubg bis alarm an geht etc. Dann kauf ich die ### 1/5 — No kill switch or back button *2023-09-21, version 3.12.908* App is great when it works however it doesn’t have a back button or a kill switch for the alarms when they are activated. We have issues with low signal and the bikes won’t unlock the alarms have gone off No silencer and No kill switch The fix is deleting the app and this gives problems on low data connections ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Katastrophe. Eine gute Idee, aber die Ausführung…??? *2024-11-22* Stümperhaft programmiert, man kriegt die App nicht aus und tappt hilflos auf den Stopp-Button, während um einen herum die Leute genervt zuschauen… Dann gibt es Aussetzer, wo die App bis zu einen halben Tag keinen Standort findet und dann mitten in der Nacht, aus Freude, das Fahrrad wieder gefunden zu haben, einen lauten Alarm losbricht. Dann stürzt man schlaftrunken los und sieht das Bike ruhig und ohne Probleme geparkt. Die App ist eine Super-Idee, grade weil die Räder ja ständig auch geklaut werden, aber die Umsetzung ist echt grottig. Suchen jetzt nach einer neuen Lösung. ### 1/5 — Die App ist so schlecht *2024-11-03* Am Anfang war noch alles OK, aber um so länger man das Teil in betrieb hat um so schlechter wird es. Seit Jahren wird versprochen das es ein Update geben wird, aber alles nur leere Versprechungen. Joke. Just get an airtag! Especially when the app only has to do one thing which is lock when I click the lock and I still have to click it multiple times 90% of the time because it's so slow to load. Will not be renewing this after first year ### 1/5 — Wird immer schlimmer *2024-04-22* Der Traker hat noch vor 3 Jahren super funktioniert, schnelles Standardort aktualisierung und App Top. Seit letzten Jahr wird immer schlimmer, das Alarm aktivierung Button reagieren so gut wie garnicht. Ständig Signal schwach ( Ort immer gleich) und letzte Zeit erkennt den Standort gar nicht. Wenn ich in der App die Funktion „Diebstahl melden“ anklicke , stürzt die App ab. Was für eine sinnlose und teure Investition in den Bike Tracker! ### 1/5 — Base product is okay - it’s the £40 a year that outrageous!! *2023-11-11, version 3.13.1102* The app and software are generally okay. They do the basics reasonably well. Problem I have is with the actual service implementation. Which charges an additional £40 a year just to access the location and use the app. An app that uses a free GPS signal & cheap maps API should be pennies to run. Not that kind of ££!! I just needed to get the 12v port on my Bosch Smart System ebike unlock by the dealer. After that, the download and setup of the App and connecting it to the GPS-Tracker was easy, and after a few simple steps in the setup process, it was done. I love how you can set the activation to automatically come on after a set time. It means I never forgot to have it activated. in Addition, the App sends you notifications and alerts as intended, which means I have an extra sense of security and peace knowing that my ebike is protected. Well worth it. ### 5/5 — Bike recovered *2024-07-11, version 3.15.0430* My e-bike was stolen from outside a restaurant where I was eating with friends. La tengo instalada en una specialized desde hace casi un año y va perfecto. Si mueven la bici, a los pocos segundos salta una alarma en tu movil y ves en todo momento por donde está. I rarely leave it in any place where it needs to be locked. Could we please have dates to follow system settings or be optional format? US-style dates are fine in the US but elsewhere it's a question of eh, what? Before realizing it's back to front. ### 5/5 — Cycle Recovered *2023-03-05, version 3.9.1221* Can’t thank PowUnity enough as without it I’d have lost my extremely expensive electric bike. With the aid of PowUnity I was able to recover my bike myself as the police were completely useless. However the aftercare service from PowUnity wasn’t great in using the data to convict the criminals. The main thing through I got my bike back.
