## What is Practice Focus and Attention?

Attention is measurable. Measure yours.

Hone Focus is a daily attention practice built on twelve standard research tasks — the same paradigms attention science actually uses. Five minutes a day, and every round produces a real number.

THE TWELVE DRILLS
• Reaction time (PVT): wait, then tap — pure speed, remarkably sensitive to sleep.
• Sustained response (SART): tap every digit except one; the habit is the trap.
• Vigilance clock: catch the rare double jump as the minutes wear on.
• Colour vs word (Stroop): the word argues with the ink — your interference cost, in milliseconds.
• Flanker arrows: answer the middle arrow while its neighbours vote against it.
• Side vs colour (Simon): where it appears argues with what it is.
• Visual search: pop-out targets against needle-in-a-haystack scans.
• Go / no-go: speed builds a habit; the rare shape asks you to brake it.
• Stop signal: cancel an action already started — your brake, timed.
• Task switching: the rule alternates, and it charges you every time.
• Object tracking: hold several moving things in mind and find your ceiling.
• Spot the change: a scene flickers; what you miss while looking straight at it.

YOUR OWN NUMBERS
Every drill records real measurements — median reaction time, lapses, interference cost, switch cost, stopping time, find times. The lessons teach with YOUR data: your vigilance decay curve, your interference profile, your reaction time after a short night.

THE HONEST POSITION
Practising these tasks makes you better at these tasks; the evidence that task practice transfers to everyday attention is weak, and this app will not pretend otherwise. What the numbers are for is noticing — what drains your attention, what protects it, and whether the change you made last month changed anything. The strategy lessons cover what has better evidence: environment design, implementation intentions, and sleep. Hone Focus does not diagnose, screen for, or assess any condition.

No account. No analytics. No tracking. Everything stays on your device; export or erase it all from Settings at any time.

ADAPTIVE, GENERATED, FAIR
Every round is generated fresh from a seed — nothing can be memorised — and each drill holds its own level, stepped from your own recent scores. Claiming something that was not there always costs: no drill can be beaten by tapping everything.

Practice and lesson texts require a Hone Focus Pro subscription (monthly or yearly), with a free trial for eligible new subscribers. Your history and every measurement stay readable forever, subscription or not.
