GUITAR BASICS: A JOURNEY, NOT A LIBRARY One card at a time: the chord, the change between chords, the strum, then the song. Every step tells you why you're practising it. Four ways through — pick the one you came for: • Songs — learn songs people recognise, one at a time • Chords — shapes by family, and the changes between them • Melodies — read the tab, then play the whole tune • Technique — scales, picking and legato, with no song to hide behind START FROM ZERO Two interactive first lessons: how to read tab, and how to read a chord diagram. Tap each string, name each finger, then play it — nothing moves on until you can. THE APP LISTENS Chord changes are counted by the microphone while you play, so you can watch your hands instead of tapping a button. Play a chord and the app tells you whether every note is ringing. PLAY ALONG & RECORD The notes fall to the strings while the front camera films you. Count-in, full screen, and a video ready to share. Note detection now follows a melody played smoothly instead of waiting for a hard pluck, and it no longer judges a new note using the pitch of the one before it. • Set it to move on by itself after two wrong tries, so a note the microphone won't accept can't stall the bar. Practice path • Legato — hammer-ons and pull-offs — is now part of the path, graded across the levels. • Sight Reading now appears at every level, from step 1 to step 10. • Every exercise can be added to your practice list, and every practice block links back to the lesson it came from. Notation • Whole notes are drawn the way they are printed. • A sharp or flat now carries through the bar, and a natural sign cancels it. • Two-bar studies are laid out on two lines instead of scrolling sideways. ### 7.8 — 2026-08-12 Your daily routine is here. YOUR PATH, TEN LEVELS Pick a level from 1 to 10 and get the exercises that belong to it. Nothing else, nothing to wade through. The level you chose when you signed up is already selected, so the right material is waiting the moment you open the app. A REAL COURSE, NOT A SHUFFLE The ten levels add up. Work through them and you will have been taken through every chord, every melody, every chord progression and every strumming pattern in the app — each one exactly once, in an order that makes sense. Classical players cover every Giuliani arpeggio study, the tremolo patterns, the scales and all the filmed technique lessons before level 7 — then it turns to speed work and concert-level studies. Electric players cover every alternate-picking study and the scales, then move on to speed bursts and advanced drills. ONE LESSON AT A TIME Levels no longer hand you a whole section and wish you luck. Level 1 names the two things to read: Reading Chords, and The Musical Alphabet. All seven guitar fundamentals are covered by level 4 and all eight theory lessons by level 6, so the explaining is finished before the material gets hard. The theory quiz arrives in the middle, once there is something worth testing. A FASTER, CALMER APP The main page used to take several seconds to appear.
