Namely, it simply will not access parts of the platform and refuses completely to access documents saved in OneDrive. That alone makes it useless as the only reason to have such a program is remote access to the file. ### 2/5 — App adds no functionality whatsoever *2024-03-07, version 1.3* Really? The entire app is just a WebView? Come on, whatever app developer PracticePanther hired should do better than the absolute bare minimum. I get the exact same functionality just logging on using Safari. We're currently a small firm but having been growing pretty rapidly and PracticePanther has facilitated a lot of that growth. Great functionality, support, embedded payments, etc. ### 3/5 — Potential is there but execution is poor *2022-08-24, version 1.3* Inertia: The only thing preventing our law firm from changing away from PracticePanther to a different software platform. This app is filled with potential but the team at PracticePanther fails to listen to their most loyal customers. As the managing partner of a midsize law firm, I’ve been using PracticePanther firmwide for three years. During that time I’ve made countless suggestions ranging from basic bug fixes to small feature additions that would make the software much more usable. As just one example of their buffoonery, I suggested more than six months ago that they update the mobile app to provide push notifications whenever a client sends a text message through PracticePanther‘s business texting feature. After all, what good is a mobile app if the attorneys and paralegals involved on a matter have to be sitting at their desk and logged into PracticePanther to monitor for incoming client text messages. To date, PracticePanther has failed to implement this minor change. Instead, as has been my experience over the last three years, the company deployed a sub par new feature and, without regard for client feedback, moved on to what will undoubtedly be their next effort to put lipstick on this proverbial pig. ### 2/5 — Needs more funtionality *2021-06-17, version 1.3* I love the idea of having a desktop app because I use Practice Panther so frequently. But the app isn't as convenient for billing time as the website. Probably the feature I am missing the most in the app is the multiple time entries function. I think it could also be redesigned to be more "app like." As it is, its basically just the website but on your desktop. I don't think the app needs to perform all of the same functions as the website, maybe it could be streamlined specifically for the purposes of billing time and the rest of the features are website only. ### 3/5 — Seems insufficiently tested *2019-10-28, version 1.3* The app has a lot of features but can be clunky and not so responsive. The calendar feature keeps bringing a 500 (server) error, and even if it was working could work better. There should be a superquick way to enter a task or event, but as it is the steps seem too many which discourages entering in the fly. If what you’re wanting to do is look at a list, it works. If you’re wanting to actually work, go back to the website. ### 1/5 — Don’t walk, run. *2022-02-15, version 1.3* If you need to use this to bill your time (and most attorneys do, of course), you will hate it. They clearly rushed this thing out without testing it with actual attorneys. I’ve used ancient timekeeping software that was light years ahead of this in terms of usability. There are lots of other features, but a timekeeping program that doesn’t work well to keep time is like a car with all the bells and whistles but no engine. ### 1/5 — Terrible customer service *2022-02-07, version 1.3* We have been using Practice Panther for a year and it is continuing to delete data. We have tried to call customer support with no answer and have sent numerous emails. Constantly dealing with lost time entries when started through the timers in the app. The app looks like it was developed by an eighth grader. In 2013. I can’t click on invoices, open up documents coming from lawyer. I can’t anything with it ### 1/5 — So much potential, such bad follow through *2018-06-29, version 1.2* This software has great potential, but it seems they have tried to do too much, too quickly. I moved over from Daylite because of Daylite’s lack of a built-in timer for billable hour work. PracticePanther promises they can import important data from your previous case management software, but they do not follow through very well. Most of my tasks and notes were not brought over, and many of them were mislabeled. I have had to spend over $1000 on freelance workers fixing PracticePanther’s problems since they “completed” my import. I have only been using the software for about 3 weeks. Now the sales guy who promised me that he would always return my emails promptly and address my concerns swiftly is not replying to me anymore. Additionally, I have sent them a file that I had to spend hours configuring myself for them to upload. It has now been over 12 hours since I sent the file, and it has not been uploaded. Their techs are not answering my texts either. I am so very disappointed in this company and app. I have now wasted two weeks trying to get this awful, buggy, incomplete software up and running at my office, and I will now have to switch back to Daylite. I can’t keep burning through thousands of dollars of billable time trying to work around all the problems with PracticePanther. Oh, last tidbit. The calendar syncing that is promised to work with Google calendar just randomly stops working. I missed an appointment yesterday because their calendar sync stopped working. My advice: go with Daylite ### 1/5 — Too many bugs! *2018-06-21, version 1.2* Will not sync calendar with Microsoft Exchange. Their tech team has been working on fixing this issue for WEEKS! They have a great concept, however, their software is not ready for primetime yet. Going back to FileMaker. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2017-08-18, version 1.2* Most functions using the drop-down menu are unresponsive on my phone. ### 2/5 — Not great *2025-10-31, version 1.3* Our company really likes Practice Panther in general but the phone based app is terrible (at least for iPhone). The interface is buggy and it’s more trouble than it’s worth to try and use on the road. Most of us just wait until we’re back in the office on the PC to input our time/info. ### 2/5 — Needs bug fixes *2025-03-28, version 1.3* The app looks exactly like in your browser. It would function better to focus on actions needed for mobile devices rather than robustness. Unfortunately many features of app do not function properly: 1) Documents are inaccessible through app. This was mentioned in other reviews and makes it nearly impossible to function as needed. 2) document uploading crashes. The app allows three options: from Files app, take a photo, and from photo library. Unfortunately the app crashes every time except when uploaded from the photo library. 3) Text messaging. This feature does not function. Selecting the text message has no response from the app, nothing happens. 4) No updates. I highly recommend all firms in the industry to use this to stay organized and on top of cases/matters. Everything seems to be super automated and the app just does it for you.
