## What is PracticePocket?

PracticePocket is a private practice notebook for musicians, athletes, language learners, makers, and anyone improving a repeatable skill.

Build a drill around one purpose and one observable cue. Run a focused practice block with a real timer, record repetitions and focus, then keep a short note about what changed. PracticePocket turns those records into a useful review queue and clear practice trends without accounts, subscriptions, or online services.

FOCUSED PRACTICE
- Create drills with a purpose, cue, duration, and repetition target.
- Run timed blocks with pause, resume, and finish controls.
- Record actual time, repetitions, focus, outcome, and notes.

ADAPTIVE REVIEW
- See exactly which drills are due.
- Rate recall as Repeat Soon, Held, or Effortless.
- Use a transparent SM-2-style schedule that returns difficult material sooner.

USEFUL HISTORY
- Review 14-day or 30-day practice volume.
- Compare minutes by discipline and session outcome.
- Track optional weekly minute and session targets.
- Search and filter the complete drill library.

PORTABLE AND PRIVATE
- Export a complete JSON archive and restore it later.
- Share a factual text summary when you choose.
- Keep drills, sessions, targets, and review dates on your device.
- No sign-in, ads, analytics, tracking, or subscription.

PracticePocket organizes information you enter. It does not provide coaching, medical advice, certification, or performance guarantees.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-23

PracticePocket 1.4 is an independent rebuild centered on measurable practice. Create structured drills, run a real focus timer, record repetitions and outcomes, and use an adaptive review queue to bring difficult material back sooner. New 14-day and 30-day charts summarize practice volume, discipline mix, and outcomes. Weekly targets, search, a complete session history, and portable JSON archive export and restore are also included. Everything remains offline with no account, ads, tracking, or subscription.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-23

Set a weekly minutes goal and watch a live progress ring fill in as you practice. PracticePocket tells you how much you have left and roughly how many minutes a day will get you there before the week resets.

The new Insights tab turns your practice log into real charts: minutes per day over the last week, two weeks, or month, a breakdown of where your time goes by category, plus your totals, averages, and busiest day.

Back up everything to a single JSON file you can keep safe or move to another device, then restore it whenever you need. As always, PracticePocket is fully offline — no account, no ads, no tracking, and your data stays on your device unless you choose to share it.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-19

What's New in PracticePocket 1.2

Version 1.2 turns PracticePocket from a drill list into a real practice companion - with a spaced-repetition review scheduler and an actual practice log.

Spaced repetition reviews (new Review tab)
- Schedule any drill for spaced review and PracticePocket resurfaces it on exactly the right day.
- Powered by the proven SM-2 algorithm (SuperMemo 2): rate each review Again, Good, or Easy, and the interval and per-drill ease factor adapt to you - shaky material comes back quickly, mastered material stretches out.
- The Review tab shows everything due today plus your full schedule, and the tab badge tells you how many drills are waiting.

Real practice log, streaks, and minutes
- Log a session for any drill: minutes practiced, how it felt (Struggle / Steady / Breakthrough), and a quick note.
- The Today dashboard now shows minutes practiced today, your current day streak, drills due for review, and minutes this week - replacing the old placeholder metrics with figures that mean something.
- Practice streaks use a one-day grace period (a single missed day won't reset you), and the Toolkit tab tracks your longest streak, total minutes, weekly minutes, and per-day average.
- Each drill keeps its own session history with total minutes and per-session notes.

New export
- Export your practice log as CSV (date, drill, minutes, feel, note) to open in a spreadsheet or share with a teacher or coach. The text summary now includes your streak and practice totals too.

Learn
- A new "How spaced repetition works" reference explains the method in plain language, with cited sources (SuperMemo 2, the Leitner 1-3-7-14-30 schedule, and deliberate-practice research).

Fixes and polish
- Corrected the version shown in the app and removed an unused screen; the Toolkit tab now also covers privacy and about details.
- Fresh installs include a short sample practice streak so the new metrics make sense right away.

PracticePocket stays fully offline: no account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Everything lives on your device.
