Hard pass for me ### 3/5 — Doesn’t adapt *2026-08-25, version 4.32.0* I need a tool that adapts lessons to feedback. Once the plan is set, nothing adapts. You get better it doesn’t. Sorry I paid for this. Live and learn ### 2/5 — Japanese language support *2026-08-20* The ai teacher read the kanji, the furigana and romaji for the same sentence. So it sometime repeat itself 3 times. - the accent of the Ai teacher I s quiet heavy - when selecting several kanji in text, the translation might be unavailable. Pressing the speaker will read it in Chinese… Clearly the Japanese language support is minimal and broken. Hopping to see this fixed in the future. ### 2/5 — Good but lacks content *2026-08-20, version 4.32.0* The actual app is good, the learning style is amazing as you can practice in realistic scenarios. The biggest downside and only reason why Ive only used it a handful of times is the lack of language choices. And the question that was crazy was what accent do you want to learn? But the question didn’t tell you it was asking about accents or say one was standard and one was a regional accent. Who would want to learn a regional accent before learning the standardized language? ### 1/5 — I don’t find it simple. The voice recognition just picks up the sounds but can’t isolate it from other languages. Also the ai is slow and I found myself more frustrated than anything else. No thank you! ### 3/5 — It cant actually hear you *2026-08-14, version 4.31.0* It’s kind of just like having an AI walk you through the basics of the language, because it makes comments about your pronunciation, but it actually can’t hear you. It’s just transcribing what you say so there’s no way that it can actually critique your pronunciation. Also, it pronounces the same word differently, depending on the time that it says it, which is really frustrating because you don’t know which is actually the correct pronunciation. definitely don’t pay for this. ### 4/5 — Hat sich schon gebessert *2026-08-13* Nach dem letzten Update gab es 2 positive Verbesserungen: 1) jetzt gibt es endlich ein sehr schickes Widget 2) wenn man den Kurs ändert, muss man trotzdem nicht wieder bei 0 anfangen. Das finde ich sehr sehr gut. * Ich habe die App jetzt 2 Wochen benutzt. Und klar sind die Charaktere und die Idee süß, aber eigentlich ist die App ne Katastrophe. •Wenn man die Freisprechfunktion benutzt, sind die Pausen viel zu kurz um eine Antwort zu formulieren und es wird einem sofort das Wort abgeschnitten. •Die App versteht extrem schlecht, transkribiert den gesprochenen Text plötzlich auf einer anderen Sprache oder schreibt richtige Wörter plötzlich falsch und man wird ewig über Fehler belehrt, die man nicht begangen hat. •Die Lektionen sind so schlecht. Gerade war das Subjuntivo dran, sie bringt einen Beispielssatz mit einem unregelmäßigen Verb und erwartet ohne jegliche Erklärung, dass man sofort Beispielssätze bilden kann. •Auch die anderen Lektionen sind furchtbar. Man diskutiert zB in einer Lektion ewig über 3-4 Wörter, die eh keiner braucht und wo man eh sofort dran sieht, was sie bedeuten, zB „Forum“, anstatt mal was Sinnvolles zu lernen. This thing blew up and smoke a bunch of Spanish when I already said that I was uneasy speaking it. It went on and on for speaking in heavy Spanish and then asking for a response. I couldn’t put three words together. Not good ### 1/5 — G0239 *2026-08-25, version 4.32.0* If you’re learning German go elsewhere. I have contacted customer service twice by email regarding this issue, yet I have received no response whatsoever. This level of customer service is unacceptable, particularly when customers are being charged for a subscription they have already cancelled. I strongly recommend not using this app until the company improves its customer service and provides clear, transparent information about its subscription and cancellation policies. If you are considering signing up, be very cautious about your subscription and cancellation terms. ### 1/5 — Gimmicky App *2026-08-22, version 4.32.0* Not a real AI does not adapt to students prefer method of learning. Don’t put AI in the name of your product it it’s not a real AI ### 1/5 — WORST APP *2026-08-21* I had subscribed to the free trial for seven days and given my card information, and the money went as soon as I gave the card information, and it did not wait for seven days. After that I went to Apple for a refund, and Praktika denied Apple to give me a refund. Then I have been on back and forth with praktika’s nonsense customer service for two months now. They have been giving me hopes of refund for so long. I have wasted my time, and now they have denied it yet again. I have been wasting my time and money on this nonsense app that is not even nice, and they're just trying to steal your money. Don't install this app. As a student, I have lost my money on this, and I will definitely not recommend installing this. There are way better apps out there. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2026-08-21, version 4.32.0* When I saw the commercial on YouTube, I thought this was just what I was looking for. The reality is the opposite, however. I chose the free version which is much more limited than the paid version I suppose. I found it very difficult to follow the AI tutor in my target language, and when it switched to English., I found it impossible to understand what it was saying. I could read on the screen that it was writing English, but the accent speaking was absolutely incomprehensible. You have to wonder why a language program with AI capabilities would put an incomprehensible for an accent speaking instead of a crisp native accent. I need a common ground I can understand.. ### 1/5 — Scam of an app *2026-08-16, version 4.31.0* I had a trial in February to brush up on my German, thought it looked fun. What you get is basically ChatGPT with no cadence and very minimal instructional value. On top of that, no notification was sent before the trial ended and they charge you 40$ two days into the trial and refuses to refund even after emailing them. So yeah pay 40$ for disappointment ### 1/5 — Unfair and I feel like I got scammed *2026-08-16, version 4.31.0* Only used this app twice and was still charged over $140. I signed up for this app and agreed to a first initial charge of $44 for a year. I had no idea they were going to charge me again $99 a year later automatically. I emailed customer service back and forth and they advised they couldn’t give me a refund since I didn’t message them within 48 hours of the charge. Given the circumstances I don’t think that’s fair at all. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — work in progress needed *2026-08-25, version 4.32.0* I love the app but some things need changing. the tutors are not realistic as in the adverts, I would love to have a real looking one and not a cartoon one. Also, when you’re in full screen mode, the tutor speaks but the text section is small so basically when you’re being asked something you need to respond, the question doesn’t stay on screen, so sometimes it’s difficult to remember the question and this disappears from screen.
