But when I close the app and open again I can continue reading one episode. But how many times I have to repeat this closing nd opening. My whole phone works with same WiFi but pratilipi doesn’t work. After paying Rs. 1,500 for an annual subscription, the next renewal is 2 weeks before a full year transpires. A platform that promotes writers and storytelling should at least allow users to write and publish from the app, but the iOS version completely lacks this basic feature. It feels unfair that iPhone users are limited to only reading while writers on other platforms can easily create and publish content. This makes the app frustrating and inconvenient for anyone who wants to write regularly. Many people rely on their phones to write ideas instantly, but Pratilipi forces iOS users to go to the website or another device. For a modern writing platform, this feels outdated and poorly designed. If Pratilipi truly supports writers, the developers need to fix this and add proper writing and publishing features for iPhone users. Since the last two updates, I haven't been able to read anything on the app. Whenever I open a story, the app reads out "secure text" instead of the actual content. This issue has persisted since the previous update. I was hoping this latest update would resolve the problem, but unfortunately, it hasn't. I am writing this message personally as a visually impaired user. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Disappointing for Authors - Writing features removed for iOS *2026-01-01* I have been an author on Pratilipi for over 5 years, but the recent updates are extremely disappointing. They have completely removed the writing and inbox features for iOS users, claiming it’s now a 'Reader-only' app. This is highly discriminatory toward iPhone users. Because of this, my ongoing stories are stalled, and my earnings have dropped significantly. It is frustrating to see a platform that claims to support creators take away the basic tools needed for creativity. Unless the writing features are restored for iOS, this app is useless for authors. A platform of this scale should be able to support all users equally regardless of their device. ### 1/5 — Waste of time & money *2025-08-20* It’s totally waste of money and time. Although you have taken the subscription full story is not available to read. One part is daily gets unlock like serial in TV. It is better to watch serial then with visual effects than story. I think they are doing that to earn money only. Don’t mention book app then. Book won’t get published before completion. If any story has 100 above parts then you will definitely pay for 3 months as each part gets unlocked daily. The wide variety of stories and the opportunity to discover new writers is what initially drew me in. One of the biggest reasons I loved this app was because it allowed readers to enjoy full stories for free. However, recently I’ve noticed that many stories are now locked behind a paywall or require waiting to unlock the next part. This has been quite disappointing, as it affects the reading experience and makes it difficult to stay engaged in the story. While I understand the need to support writers and the platform, I hope the team can consider a better balance between free content and paid features. Perhaps introducing more unlock options through reading milestones or ads could help retain long-time users who enjoy reading but may not be able to pay for every chapter. I still appreciate the efforts of the Pratilipi team and hope to see improvements that make the app more accessible again. ### 1/5 — It’s a big Scam *2025-02-12* I recommend not to take subscription since u r paying a good amount for literally nothing.. Most of the subscription comes from Facebook.. They will post 2-3 chapters of a novel, which will make u keen to read the rest, for which u have to pay.. The problem starts when the author will suddenly stop updating the story for weeks or for months and sometimes even stop writing.. The app doesn’t have any control over the authors.. for eg. an author will start writing 3-4 novels at the same time & will not complete any.. All subscribers are reading enthusiastic, rt? Even in the app, u don’t have an option to complain to the admin.. There is a Malayalam author by the name Anila Sanal Anuradha.. She is writing 2-3 novels at the same time.. She won’t even update the story for few days/ week.. I took the paid subscription just to read a story, almost 9 months ago.. She simply stopped writing it for 2-3 months, then restarted writing with 4-6 updates in a month.. Pls tell me if it’s worthy??? ### 1/5 — Incomplete Stories 😡 *2024-12-06* More than half of the stories are incomplete on pratilipi. What is the point of reading 40-50 parts of a story and spending money on taking a subscription, when later you come to know that this story is also incomplete, its next part has not been uploaded for months. Pratalipi team should take action against such writers, or stop extorting money from readers for incomplete stories on the name of subscription.
