It has made prayer easy and accessible! However, I do wish it would include more things, including the Paschal hours, hymns from the Triodion and Pentecostarion, a section on Confession, and perhaps the ability to add more prayers to a specific section, ie another prayer for singles in the “family prayers” or adding one’s own prayer rule in the “prayer rule” section. If these were added, the app would be more complete. (And two prayers normally found in morning and evening rules: the Fifth prayer of St Macarius and the ninth of Peter the Studite in the evening is not found) That said, I still utterly love this app! I love the “extra” prayers included that you do not normally see elsewhere, I love all the Akathists and canons it includes (Three Canons together is a nice touch!) and I love that it includes a full Psalter! Thank you for making prayer so accessible! Forgive me if I have offended with my critiques. Orthodoxconvert ### 4/5 — Wonderful app, needs one addition *2021-03-14, version 2.0.16* Unless I am missing it, there are no hymns from the Lenten Triodion. It is so important it warrants its own section, and includes Holy Week. It does not need to be comprehensive, but inclusion of the basic Kontakia beginning with the Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee, as well as the special Triodion hymns following the Sunday Matins Gospel (“Open to me the doors of repentance...”) would be essential, plus the Prayer of St Ephraim the Syrian. The same basic content as the Jordanville Prayer Book would enable the user to proceed through the Pre-Lent period, Great Lent, and Holy Week with the means of keeping their prayer rule in sync with the church. It is filled with deep and wonderful prayers and the app format makes them so easy to use. I do wish it would adjust dark/night with the system settings, but that does not detract from the riches it contains. ### 5/5 — E X C E L L E N T !!! *2019-08-04, version 2.0.10* I can’t recommend this app highly enough! ☦️ This app has a great selection of prayers, hymns, Troparia, Canons & Akathists from our Holy Orthodox Church. It has Prayers of Preparation for Holy Communion & some for Confession. It has the Psalter 🙂 divided into Kathisma. Pray Always is WELL ORGANIZED & EASY to navigate, which is good because of the sheer number of prayers included. It’s easy to go to a specific prayer within Compline for example. To do so, open Compline, tap the search button (on the top right of app) to display a column on the right side of your screen which will show the individual sections of Compline. You can then scroll & tap Psalm 50, Doxology or Thursday Evening Troparia for example. Pray Always is also WELL DESIGNED. Honestly, I never noticed settings to aid those with visual needs were missing from other Orthodox Christian apps, but I’m glad they were considered here. What a blessing for those with eyesight difficulties! There is a Night Theme on/off toggle which changes the display into white text on a dark background, which is much easier on the eyes in a darkened room. I have no idea if this makes the app too difficult for those with cataracts, however. Far-sighted or near-sighted? Pray Always has 5 different font sizes (smallest, small, normal, large & huge) There are 2 font choices Serif & Sans-Serif, the latter being plainer & thus easier to read. All these Settings as well as others, are accessible within the app itself. You can even specify King James or Contemporary English. I think all that I have mentioned above are included with the FREE version. The FREE version is fully functional and GREAT! I UPGRADE to the FULL version. It’s a ONE TIME $2.99. It allows you to ⭐️ your favorite prayers to save together in one section for easy retrieval. It also allows you to customize some parts of prayers like the name of your Patron saint, Hierarchs, Spiritual Father as well as names of the Living & Departed. These customizations can be backed up to iCloud automatically in Settings. I decided to PAY $2.99 to UPGRADE in order to support the creation of EXCELLENT Orthodox Christian apps just like this one. It takes time & resources to develop apps. I would like to see more HIGH QUALITY Orthodox Christian apps. If you do too, PLEASE UPGRADE. Its a small fee. The paid version has more prayers than the Jordanville prayer book!!!! It includes those prayers that are in the book as well!!!! And I paid 17 dollars for the book!!!!! (Haha!) The paid version has multiple canons, akathists, prayers, all the psalms, and more!!! I love it!!! ### 5/5 — A Helpful App *2014-12-29, version 2.0.3* I downloaded this app a few weeks ago, and I have really enjoyed it. It has a simple user interface, and a good set of prayers. I would recommend it to those who want a structured prayer time, those learning how to pray, or those who want to pray and want communication with God but don't know where to start or what to say. I will say that there are a few grammatical errors here and there, but they are not distracting or a nuisance. Especially when I am in need of a special prayer of intercession for healing or guidance or for others! I use it daily for my prayer rules, when I'm traveling. It's very handy also for those times when your daily prayer routine "feels" boring. On those days I can find another prayer rule to give me that extra help. This is a wonderful blessing. However, I would add Vespers & Matins, along with more Akathists, Canons, and Troparion/Kontakion. I enjoy that I can personalize and add my own prayers. Including those who I regular pray for everyday. I wish I could find an Orthodox prayer for my pets. This went on for 2 days straight and then thought perhaps it needs and update. When I discovered you rolled out an update and my app already updated, this is the result.
