Prayer in Hand brings a quiet Catholic devotional core to iPhone and Apple Watch. Prayer texts and calendar data are bundled with the app, so the core devotional experience works offline. No accounts, no ads, no generated devotional prose. IN YOUR LANGUAGE Prayer in Hand is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Polish, Korean, Vietnamese, Croatian, Slovak, Hungarian and Ukrainian. Where a traditional public-domain translation is bundled, your prayers appear in your language, with Latin beside them. Scripture passages stay in the English Douay-Rheims. PRAY THE ROSARY • Follow all four mystery sets and all 20 mysteries. • Read a cited public-domain Douay-Rheims Scripture passage with every mystery. • Choose your language, Latin, or side-by-side text where Latin is bundled. • Use the standalone Apple Watch app: turn the Digital Crown or tap to move forward one bead, long-press to step back, and feel haptics at meaningful boundaries. KEEP YOUR PLACE IN PRAYER • Start or resume your rosary with Siri and App Shortcuts. An active rosary reopens at your saved place. • Choose Show on Lock Screen during a rosary to start an optional Live Activity. See your place on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island on supported devices, and step forward or back. • Add the rosary widget on Apple Watch to return to your local Watch session. • Phone and Watch keep their own progress. No account or cloud service is needed. WALK THE SEASON • Advent Rosary Path: a dated path from the First Sunday of Advent to Christmas Eve, one set of mysteries for each day, with the days you have prayed marked. Free. BEGIN WITH THE DAY • Read a bundled public-domain Douay-Rheims selection for every calendar date. • See the computed liturgical season and bundled celebrations, with United States and Universal calendar options. • Keep traditional public-domain prayers available offline, with free prayer-title search. • Browse bundled chaplet and novena structures. When a proper text is not included, the app says so instead of inventing it. • Review the most recent seven days without a purchase. Choose whether to display practice streak counts. Daily Scripture is a day-by-day collection assembled from public-domain text. It is not the Church's liturgical lectionary, and the app labels it accordingly. ADD A PERSONAL RULE Personal Rule is an optional paid practice companion, available as an auto-renewing annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. It can: • Schedule devotions by weekday or liturgical season. • Set optional reminders as local notifications. • Open the full practice archive and summaries. • Search the full text of the bundled library. • Attach private notes to prayers and Rosary mysteries. • Add the liturgical-day and practice widget to your Home Screen. No prayer text or prayer flow is placed behind Personal Rule. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION Prayer activity, practice history, schedules and private notes stay on your device. There is no account system, advertising, third-party analytics SDK or CloudKit sync. To improve the app, it sends anonymous usage stats with no personal data to our own server: which screens open, paywall views, and purchases started or completed. Prayer text, notes and intentions are never sent. StoreKit communicates with Apple to load products, complete purchases, verify entitlement status and restore purchases. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. The annual plan renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. The lifetime plan does not renew. A new short verse each day, from the Douay-Rheims. Free for everyone. ### 1.2 — 2026-10-08 Advent and a few quieter improvements: • Advent Rosary Path: a dated path from the First Sunday of Advent to Christmas Eve, one set of mysteries for each day, with the days you have prayed marked. Free, like the rosary itself. • Ask Siri for a particular set: "Pray the Sorrowful Mysteries in Prayer in Hand". A rosary already in progress keeps its saved mysteries. • Apple Watch: double tap advances one bead on watches that support the gesture. • After a completed rosary the app may occasionally ask for an App Store rating, never more than Apple allows and never during prayer. The core prayers and prayer flows remain free. ### 1.1 — 2026-10-02 A quieter daily prayer experience: • Read Daily Scripture in its own focused reader. • Open scheduled prayers directly from Today. • Search prayer titles for free. • Choose light, dark or device appearance, with improved larger-text layouts. • Resume the rosary with the correct saved mysteries. • Review dated practice records and choose whether to show streak counts. • Keep notes safer when cancelling an edit. • See clearer Annual and Lifetime plans, restore purchases from Preferences, and view an introductory first-year offer when eligible. The core prayers and prayer flows remain free. ### 1.0 — 2026-09-22 No release notes. ## Apps similar to Prayer in Hand | App | Rating | Price | Category | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [Studium Catholicum -kirjasto](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/studium-catholicum-kirjasto/id6502708665) | — | Free | Lifestyle | | [Today's Rosary](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/todays-rosary/id6760130741) | — | Free | Lifestyle | | [Going to Confession](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/going-to-confession/id6503298220) | 4.9 (28) | Free | Lifestyle | | [Contemplatio: Rosary on images](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/contemplatio-rosary-on-images/id1434771807) | 4.9 (38) | Free | Lifestyle | | [OrthoPrax](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/orthoprax/id1078949915) | 4.7 (469) | Free | Lifestyle | | [SAINT Catholic Lifestyle](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/saint-catholic-lifestyle/id6670555256) | 5.0 (37) | Free | Lifestyle | ## More apps by Mel Owen - [Clef: Sight Reading Trainer](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/clef-sight-reading-trainer/id6768969191) All apps by Mel Owen: https://appshunter.io/developer/1674940249 --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
