Altar is a prayer journal with the Bible built in. Write down what you're praying for, pin Scripture to it, and keep a record of every answer. A HOME FOR YOUR PRAYERS Keep every request in one place, sorted into categories like healing, guidance and thanksgiving. Add a photo of the person you're praying for. Mark a prayer answered and it stays on the record, with a chart of every day you prayed for it. PRAY THROUGH THE SEASONS Prayer journeys for Advent, the new year and Lent: one reading a day, with a passage, a short reflection, a question to sit with, and often a prayer to keep. Each journey opens in the app a week before its season begins. PRAY NOW Start a session sized to the time you have, from a few minutes to no clock at all, and pray through your list one prayer at a time. THE BIBLE, BUILT IN Six translations, all offline: the Berean Standard Bible, World English Bible, King James and American Standard in English, Reina-Valera in Spanish and Bíblia Livre in Portuguese. Highlight a verse and pin it to the prayer it belongs with. A JOURNAL FOR THE WHOLE STORY A dated journal for the days words come easily and the days they don't. Search it, and your prayers and notes, any time. STAY STEADY Reminders in the tone you choose, a streak that counts the days you pray, and widgets for your Home Screen and Lock Screen. YOURS ALONE No account and no feed. Your prayers and journal stay on your phone, and you can lock Altar with Face ID or your passcode. Back up to your own iCloud or to a file you keep. We see anonymous usage and crash data only, never what you write. SHARE WHEN YOU CHOOSE Share an answered prayer as a card showing only what you pick, or print and send your prayer list to your small group. SUBSCRIPTION Altar Premium is an auto-renewable subscription, with a lifetime option available as a one-time purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. TEN NEW JOURNEYS, ANY DAY Begin whenever you need one: Learning to Pray, Peace in Anxious Times, How Jesus Prayed, When You Grieve, Seven Days of Thanks, Waiting on God, Forgiven and Forgiving, Praying for Your Family, The Fruit of the Spirit and Rest for the Weary. Day 1 is the day you start, and a new day opens each day after, with a passage, a short reflection, a question and often a prayer to keep. Finished one? Start it again whenever you like. ALSO • Altar links now open the app from anywhere, not only from its widgets ### 4.0.0 — 2026-09-24 Altar is rebuilt for iPhone. Every screen is now drawn natively, so the app opens quicker, scrolls smoother, and feels at home on iOS. BUILT AROUND YOUR ANSWERS Altar asks a few questions about your prayer life, and what you say shapes the app: • Reminders arrive in the voice you chose — gentle, a verse, your progress, or plain • Pray now opens on a session the size of the time you said you have • Home leads with the thing you said gets in the way • Your first prayers are written for what's on your heart • Scripture reminders quote the translation you actually read • Say your prayers are just between you and God, and nothing suggests sharing them Five of those answers can be changed whenever you like, in Settings › Personalization. A QUIETER END TO A SESSION "Amen" and your time now settle onto the screen itself, rather than arriving as a box on top of it. ALSO NEW • Mark a prayer answered and it shows on the record straight away • Choose your session length, "no clock" included, right on the picker • A new welcome, and three pages that introduce Altar before the questions begin FIXED • The keyboard no longer covers the button when you add a prayer • Editing a prayer keeps the journal notes attached to it • Ending a session mid-save no longer writes the note twice ### 3.0.2 — 2026-08-26 Simpler, more private photos Adding a photo to a prayer now uses your device's own photo picker. Altar no longer asks for access to your photo library — you choose a photo, and that's the only one the app ever sees. A clearer upgrade screen The plan you're choosing stays in view while you read, so you can see exactly what you're getting before you decide. Plus refinements and fixes throughout. Thank you for praying with Altar. ### 3.0.0 — 2026-08-17 THE BIBLE, BUILT IN Four translations to read without leaving the app. Highlight anything that speaks to you in color, and find every highlight again in one place. VERSES PINNED TO PRAYERS Attach a passage to a prayer and it is waiting there every time you open it. A JOURNAL OF YOUR OWN A new place for the days that need more than a prayer list — dated, private, and kept separate from your prayers. BACKUP AND RESTORE Back up to iCloud or to a file you keep yourself, on a schedule you choose. Move to a new phone without losing a thing. NOW IN SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE Altar is fully translated, Bible included. ALSO IN THIS RELEASE • Photos for the people you are praying for • A redesigned Premium screen • The Done button no longer rides up with the keyboard on Add and Edit Prayer • Category names now translate everywhere, including your statistics Thank you for praying with Altar. ### 2.90 — 2026-01-08 Optimized prayer view for easier navigation. Bug fixes. ## Apps similar to Prayer Journal & Bible | App | Rating | Price | Category | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [MemoVial: Photo Diary, Private](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/memovial-photo-diary-private/id6737128967) | 5.0 (4) | Free | Lifestyle | | [Birthday Reminder: Sky of Star](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/birthday-reminder-sky-of-star/id6739950122) | 5.0 (8) | Free | Lifestyle | | [Prayse - Prayer Journal](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/prayse-prayer-journal/id6443480347) | 5.0 (28) | Free | Lifestyle | | [Smart Flip Clock](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/smart-flip-clock/id6737960507) | 4.9 (19) | $0.99 | Lifestyle | | [Daily Prayer Journal](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/daily-prayer-journal/id6746579242) | 5.0 (2) | Free | Lifestyle | | [Calombo](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/calombo/id6472685813) | 5.0 (20) | Free | Lifestyle | ## More apps by Creative Expressions Collective LLC - [The Bible Recap: Chronicle](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/the-bible-recap-chronicle/id6781824420) All apps by Creative Expressions Collective LLC: https://appshunter.io/developer/1773316246 --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
