## What is Prayer Pause?

The moment your salah begins, Prayer Pause locks the distracting apps pulling at you, then unlocks them the second you finish, so you can pray without your phone whispering in the back of your mind. Build a real habit of dhikr, Quran and intentional time between prayers instead of endless scrolling.

Most of us spend 5 to 6 hours a day on our phones, and most of that is mindless scrolling, dopamine loops and distraction. Prayer Pause helps you cut that down and gives your deen the space it deserves.

Pick the apps to block. Set schedules around your prayer times. When you reach for a blocked app, Prayer Pause steps in with something better: dhikr, Quran, a quick quiz or a moment of reflection. Break the bad phone habits and build better ones. Your digital detox, powered by your deen.

WHAT YOU GET

- Block distracting apps, categories and websites during salah or any time you choose
- 5 unlock methods rooted in your deen: dhikr, Quran, an Islamic quiz, reflection or dua (turn on several for a different one each time)
- Salah Focus with two modes: Honor (pull up when you have prayed) or Proof Mode (scan your prayer spot with the camera to unlock)
- Focus sessions that lock your apps for a set time or until the next prayer
- Sabr, your camel companion, who thrives when you pray on time and tires when you scroll too much
- Sabr Score, a daily focus number that tracks your bypasses, resists, prayers completed and time spent in blocked apps
- Custom blocking rules with flexible schedules and daily limits
- Islamic presets for Jummah, Tahajjud, Taraweeh and the Last 10 Nights
- Brick Mode for deep focus with zero distractions
- Screen time trends and prayer history insights
- Prayer streaks with built-in grace: one missed prayer will not always end your streak
- Prayer Calendar to mark past days, fill in a range and see your consistency
- Period Pause holds your streak and stops reminders during menses, so no broken streaks and no guilt
- Auto-blocks during all 5 daily prayers using Apple's Screen Time API
- Travel Mode with auto-detection, Qasr and prayer combining
- Real full-screen iOS alarms for every prayer time, the kind that actually wake you up
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets
- Live Activities on the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen
- Daily Deeds: a Quran reading, dhikr, dua and hadith for each day
- Quran Reader with all 114 surahs (Arabic, transliteration, English)
- Full hadith collection (Nawawi's 40 plus Sahih al-Bukhari, 97 books)

### 5/5 — So glad it came to Mac

*2026-08-03*

I already this app on my phone and I am so glad it's now on Mac as well. Jazak Allah kul kheir <3

**Developer response:** Wa iyyakum, and jazak Allahu khairan for taking the time to write this. Glad it is on your Mac now as well as your phone, that was the whole point of bringing it over. May Allah accept your salah and keep it easy on you.

### 5/5 — Menu bar salah

*2026-07-24*

I love that I can see the prayers on the menu bar, no clunky app

**Developer response:** JazakAllah khair for this. No clunky app was the brief. You glance up, you know where you are in the day, and you get back to what you were doing.

If you use it on iPhone too, Prayer Pause blocks your phone during prayer, and Sajda Mode unlocks it with a prayer mat scan. Grateful for the 5 stars.

### 5/5 — best salah spp

*2026-07-24*

needed to see my salah times on my mac and was so happy to discover this app

**Developer response:** So glad you found it, Rawan. Salah times sitting right there on your Mac without digging through anything is the whole idea.

If you ever want the phone side of it, Prayer Pause blocks your phone during prayer, and Sajda Mode unlocks it with a prayer mat scan. JazakAllah khair for the review.

### 5/5 — Allahuma Barik

*2026-07-11*

Amazing concept, amazing UI. Keeps me locked in with salah

**Developer response:** Allahuma barik, this genuinely made our day. Staying locked in for your salah instead of drifting to the phone is the whole reason we built Prayer Pause, so knowing it is doing that for you means a lot. Jazak Allah khairan for the kind words, and may Allah accept your prayers.

### 5/5 — Got me back on my deen

*2026-06-13*

Great app that truly made me get back on my religion. I am no longer spending useless hours on TikTok or instagram

**Developer response:** This genuinely made our day, Omar. Alhamdulillah that Prayer Pause helped you trade those hours on TikTok and Instagram for time with your deen, that is exactly why we built it. May Allah keep you consistent and reward your intention. If a friend is stuck in the same scroll, passing it along could help them too. Thank you for being here.

### 5/5 — 10/10! Helping me stay focused after Ramadan

*2026-05-17*

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt that I had to for this app! After every Ramadan, like many others, my focus on deen tends to take a swing but I am so glad to say that this year, this has not happened. This is mainly due to this app, as the streak keeps me on track and the app keeps me off my phone. With no distractions I’m able to stay focused and continue getting better.

Whoever the owner of this app is, jazakAllah Khair!

**Developer response:** Wa iyyak, this means so much! Post-Ramadan consistency is one of the hardest battles, and the fact that the streak and Prayer Pause are helping you hold the line is exactly what we built this for. May Allah keep you steady and reward you for taking the time to write this. More features coming inshaAllah, stay tuned!

### 5/5 — feedback

*2026-05-14*

great app. I plan to use it, only thing is that the app keeps crashing, please fix or I can’t even access my apps. Other than that everything else is great!

**Developer response:** JazakAllahu khairan for the kind words and for flagging this! The crash you're seeing is caused by a glitch with one of Apple's Screen Time features that affected a small number of users. We've already shipped a fix in version 1.4.6, so please update to the latest version from the App Store and the issue should be resolved. If you still run into anything, reach out to us at prayerpauseapp@gmail.com and we'll sort it out right away.

### 5/5 — Exceptional app for Muslims

*2026-05-11*

Very useful for those who get easily distracted by their phone. Design is also very neat. Overall very easy to use and highly recommend giving it a try.

**Developer response:** JazakAllahu khairan for the kind words! We're glad Prayer Pause is helping you stay focused and away from distractions. We put a lot of care into keeping the design clean and easy to use, so it means a lot to hear that. More features coming soon inshaAllah, spread the word!
