### 3/5 — Very good

*2017-07-19, version 4.2.4*

Pros: Relatively cheap, good explanations, good questions.
Cons: Some of the questions (such as the organic chemistry synthesis questions) seem inappropriately challenging relative to other MCAT study sources. Additionally, Grammatical mistakes make some questions difficult to follow. These are rare, reminiscent of a foreigner who has been living here for twenty years. They are a strike against the professional "feel" of the product, however.

### 5/5 — So far so good

*2016-12-10, version 3.19.1*

Been learning a LOT from this app.

### 5/5 — Very Thorough

*2016-11-25, version 3.19.1*

This app has a vast array of questions and even better explanations. The passages with accompanying questions are invaluable! It's a "must have" especially when you've got down-time and a cell phone!

### 5/5 — Great app for MCAT2015 success!

*2016-10-13*

I think this app is one of the best parts of my exam prep. The questions have a nice spread of difficulty, and more importantly, a good chunk of them are passage-based. The books I use from some of the popular prep companies don't even have as many passage-based practice questions as this. The app also has some nifty resources for applying to med school and an impressive list of mnemonics covering topics across all the subject areas. With MCAT Mastery, you can practice whenever and wherever and I highly recommend it!

### 5/5 — Great content

*2016-08-23, version 3.18.4*

The app is great for on the go or laying in bed. It covers a lot of important content plus it is user friendly

### 5/5 — Great Supplement for MCAT studying

*2016-08-09, version 3.18.3*

Love the app, great for content review and gaining additional exposure to the types of questions we would normally see on the MCAT. Overall, a must have as long as you can refrain from going on any other app first when opening your phone.

### 5/5 — Love it!! 😻😻

*2016-08-07, version 3.18.3*

This app is great. It truly helped me in reminding myself of all the things I had forgotten and the things that I didn't exactly know. It is helpful to be able to hear the explanation of the answer and why it is or isn't the answer.

### 5/5 — Excellent app highly recommended

*2016-08-01*

Well worth the money. Study any time and anywhere. Excellent supplement to more intensive mcat prep

### 5/5 — Great

*2016-07-14, version 3.18.1*

Great

### 4/5 — Good way to review!

*2016-07-12, version 3.18.1*

Wish more questions came with the free subscription...

### 5/5 — Really awesome!

*2016-07-10, version 3.18.1*

I'm using this right now to study for the mcats. Much more challenging than the study manuals I'm using but does a great job of reporting progress and showing areas of weakness. They're really responsive over email also.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2016-06-20, version 3.17*

I've only been using this app for a day and I'm already having a great experience with it. Great information and variety of questions!

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2016-06-19, version 3.17*

The MCAT Mastery app was very helpful. It had much better questions than other apps, even the Kaplan MCAT flashcard app. I'd recommend 100%

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not great

*2020-07-19*

Typos, things that don’t make sense. Some of the explanations are written in a condescending or pretentious way. Most of the time the questions have nothing to do with the passages. The freebie questions were good, then it was downhill from there. Not reflective of mcat prep at all. App issues too, sometimes the passages are just blank or takes a while load. If you’re studying for the mcat, do yourself a favor and just shell out for the official prep.

### 1/5 — Irritating

*2016-12-09, version 3.19.1*

I've been seriously trying to accept the terms of use so I can create an account and it will not allow me to click it. I've been trying to click it for the last 20 minutes but still nothing. Opened and closed it many times. I just wish it'd worked. 😔

### 1/5 — MCATon

*2016-11-28, version 3.19.1*

So much mistakes and have to pay

### 1/5 — Anyone Else see inconsistencies here?

*2015-06-05*

Lots of generic-sounding 5-star reviews, and the ones that don't sound contrived echo what I'll say here. The bit about the typos and incorrect solutions are true. Anyone who has truly studied for the MCAT knows that even the slightest bit of ambiguity in question structure or answer choice rationale can be maddeningly confusing. Even a single solution that is just plain wrong is entirely unacceptable for an app that purports to help users prepare for one of the most important exams of their professional career; and this app has more than one as such, just in the free portion alone. Finally, the errors in polish, just as often as they appear to simply be accidental, suggest an author(s) with a provincial understanding of English grammar.

### 1/5 — Get this if you want to learn incorrectly

*2015-06-05*

So many typos and incorrect formulas.

### 2/5 — Dumb

*2021-04-18*

I paid for this app and it didn’t unlock any of the features for me, waste of money

**Developer response:** Please contact our Customer Success Team at support@hltcorp.com or 319-246-5271 for assistance.

### 2/5 — Ok at first...

*2019-12-18*

It was okay at first, but then I hit a question that made me just delete the app altogether. It gave a mnemonic device to remember the “8 essential amino acids” (theres 9) and gave a list of 10 (I know, right?) left me wondering how many other questions were blatantly wrong.

**Developer response:** Thanks for reaching out. We have reviewed the content you have referenced and we are happy to let you know the app has it correct. It does appear there just may be some confusion. In which, we have added some additional content in the rationale to help with clarity. Please feel free to send us an email to support@hltcorp.com and we would be more than happy to help explain the answer in further detail. Thanks again!

### 2/5 — One day free, then $30 to keep material

*2017-04-28, version 4.2.4*

Not worth 30 dollars - the questions are not written like the actual exam and are very simple. Although they will help with review in general, it would be better to spend your money on review that is structured like the questions you will see on exam day

### 2/5 — Move along, nothing to see here

*2016-09-08*

This app actually has a decent amount to offer, unfortunately far too often do they have a question that refers to the "text" which doesn't contain the information you need to answer the question.

For example referring to an equation that was in the text, except it wasn't there. Or referencing a diagram that wasn't posted and isn't posted until after you answer the question wrong. Also I WISH I would have taken a screen shot of a question that they had keyed wrong, which makes you wonder how many others might be wrong as well.

Overall an unfortunate waste of money if you decide to buy it like I did. There are definitely better options elsewhere.

### 2/5 — Can't trust this app, too many errors and grammatical mistakes

*2015-07-21*

At first I thought the questions were useful, and I liked the system of keeping track of your confidence in each answer. However, this app is so deeply riddled with egregious grammatical errors and mistakes that I just can't trust it to have good information. It's so bad they don't even have subject/verb agreement. For example, they would say "these is." That's BAD. They would also do things like list "I, II, II, IV" instead of "I, II, III, IV." So while grammar has nothing to do with the mcat, this shows me that they have not reviewed their material at ALL or they would have caught such obvious errors. This exam will determine whether I get into med school and I can't trust material that has not been vetted.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Exceptional Study Aid

*2017-05-26, version 4.2.4*

I'm preparing to take my MCAT this summer and this app has taken my studying to the next level. Instead of playing bejeweled or browsing twitter while I'm out in about, I use this app to keep myself fresh. The questions are a great balance of clinical application and content-based discrete questions, which really helps when I do my in-depth studying.

### 5/5 — Phenomenal

*2017-04-24, version 4.2.4*

Although I have 2 years before I even have to take the MCAT, I can already tell this app has improved my ability to recognize patterns and has improved my study habits. Plus, the varying categories act as a great study tool for my current classes!

### 5/5 — Great study tool!

*2017-04-23, version 4.2.4*

Endless, full coverage MCAT questions! Yay! This app helps you identify sections that you need to work on, and can easily add 20-60 minutes a day to your study routine. Just use this whenever you have the urge to Instagram! ;)

### 5/5 — Highly recommend!

*2017-02-25, version 3.22.1*

Perfect app to keep concepts and terminology fresh in your mind. It's especially great when you don't have your books/laptop on you and want to get some studying in.
