Very Helpful for Prescribed Burn Managers
I coordinate prescribed fire management for several different areas around southeast Georgia, some of which are not very close to my home base. This app is incredibly useful for burn planning! Especially during the rainy summer months where scattered afternoon showers could leave one area soaked, but skip the next town over, making it difficult to know if your burn unit is soaking wet or bone dry until you drive 2 hours and bring 12 people and all their equipment in. With this app, I can check the rainfall [of the exact site that we are hoping to burn] in the morning and give a confident confirmation or cancellation to the team before they even get in their trucks!
It also helps with burn planning for units with duff, wetlands, and shrub encroachment.
