It hasn’t been updated for 2 years and really needs an overhaul. It has so many bugs and we rarely receive push notifications. On the odd occasion the push notification has come through it takes ages and by the time we answer the person has left. The intercom was very expensive for a product that doesn’t work. I have told the gate installer and they have said they have stopped installing the WiFi predator because of all the complaints from customers. If you are getting the WiFi predator I would advise to look elsewhere unless app is updated and becomes more functional. ### 1/5 — No notifications *2019-08-04, version 1.4* This app used to work flawlessly for me a few years ago and now doesn’t work! I get no notifications at all. Tried resetting the gate and app several times and nothing! What the hell happened! ### 1/5 — Poor app *2019-08-03, version 1.4* This is a terrible app. Just as the others have stated: there is poor communication between the street box and the app. I have missed about 95% of the notifications. It's also inconsistent about connecting despite having a clear signal. There are few functions and the delay when using the intercom also makes it hard to speak to people. Faulty item delivered, they refused to replace because I’d fitted it! But until it was fitted, how could I tell?? They wanted me to bluff it with client. Zero service! Only option offered was to buy another and *if they decided the old one was faulty, they would refund me! Avoid! Avoid! App never worked properly and much happier now I’ve gone back to the old monitor system. ### 1/5 — Terrible app for a ‘premium product’ *2018-12-21, version 1.4* We purchased a predator WiFi intercom system and has it installed, much more costly than a standard intercom. It worked ok, but far from great for a few months then gradually got less functional. To the point now that it doesn’t work. It doesn’t ring my phone or my wife’s. If we open the app, it says connecting and then online, but won’t load the camera. If I restart the intercom it doesn’t go offline anymore like it used to. I’m less then two years, the system is completely useless and we’ve no idea when we have people at our gates with deliveries or guests etc.... Waste of time. There’s no number I can find anywhere to offer any technical support or anything. Just terrible. ### 1/5 — Avoid the worst Tec support ever !!!!! *2018-08-25, version 1.4* In 31 years in the security industry I’ve never left a bad review until today this companies tec support have to be the worst I’ve ever encountered & when they couldn’t get it working they out right lied to us & then Charged £300+ for a single board replacement not a Complete new unit just the intercom board only on a 2 month old product no offers of site visit or site Suport poor phone help & full of excuses whilst my client stood next to me 3 site visits later there is clearly issues with the intercom product itself whistling noises when not in use , slow connection speed to iPhone tried wireless & cat5 wired options people at the gate had left before coming through to the iPhones it’s a embarrassment !!!!!! the access keypad is fine as that’s not there product it’s a 3rd party device & works fine AVOID AT ALL COSTS totally painful experience used mark 1 & 2 & both apps equally as awful but nothing Tops there phone suport its the PITS ### 1/5 — Worst app ever? *2018-05-25, version 1.4* This seems to have been coded back in the age of the dinosaurs. Terrible UI. Took me months to figure out it’s possible to keep the gate open via a far too complex method. Notifications are limited and very poorly executed. I wish there was an alternative app!! ### 1/5 — Do Not Buy: *2018-05-08, version 1.4* I bought my AES two years ago and had nothing but problems with it. I’ve spent countless hours trying to hook my phone up to this intercom. I have also lost count how many times I’ve called the AES support line. What they don’t tell you is Iphone is not compatible with this platform. Slow , unresponsive , and works like a walk I talkie . Totally useless for such an expensive hardware . Do not buy ### 1/5 — Why is the App so poor? *2018-04-02, version 1.4* We have two predator systems and therefore two call notifiers set up. Issues : Huge delay between anyone ringing the bell and being notified. There’s then no open channel, so it works like a really bad Walky talky. You feel like saying ‘over’ after speaking. Would it also have been too much trouble to have two buttons, one for open and one for closed. One button doesn’t tell you whether your gate is open or closed. Would not have another Predator on the basis of this app. Too Mickey Mouse and not fit for purpose for what was a 3 grand outlay. ### 1/5 — So far so crap *2018-03-27, version 1.4* It’s offline randomly, why? I have 100mb down and 50 up so great internet but it’s offline sometimes and not others.... you can only have one admin, why? Me and my wife both need to be able to reset as there is always a fault. If I could give it zero stars I would. ### 1/5 — What a let down! *2017-12-19, version 1.4* Considering the expense of installing the keypad and intercom system - this app is absolute rubbish. The lag between visitors calling and devices notifying us is incredible. Even if we are fortunate enough to notice a ‘live one’ it can still take several minutes for the app to open so that we can open the gates. So far, in 2 months I have successfully answered a call only twice! Please, please, please update this app! ### 1/5 — Poor notification *2017-12-05, version 1.4* It gives you one single notification. If you are not paying attention to your phone or have it on the counter from far away, you will miss that somebody is at your gate. I have missed more than 90% of the individuals who have come to my house. If you are the app developer, and you are reading this, please allow the app to send constant notifications as if it was ringing your phone. So that it cannot be ignored. You would think they would mimic a good app such as ring. It is possible for it to ring your phone and not just send a notification. They need to overhaul their app. If you are a developer, please listen to this. Please do something about it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Today I finally did it. *2022-11-20, version 1.4* All the apps by this company (Wi-Fi predator etc) are aweful. Not only do they not function they are graphically horrible and unintuitive. Today after 5 years I finally tore my AES intercom off my gate and replaced with Hikvision Intercom. It is by far way superior in every way. Better technology, support, usability, functionality. I have 3 neighbours with signs on their AES intercoms saying “don’t ring doorbell - out of use” Spoke to AES way to many times over the years and never got anything productive back. iPhone apps not developed in over 4 years. I will be posting my YouTube video called “worst tech I have owned in over 30 years” as soon as I get time to edit it. Never works. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2021-07-17, version 1.4* Complete waste of time absolutely rubbish!! ### 1/5 — Terrible waste *2021-05-25, version 1.4* The purpose of this app is to allow smart phone functionality and connectivity to the gate intercom— yet this app doesn’t do that. It usually won’t ring when someone buzzes at the gate. There’s about a 90% failure rate. And what’s so frustrating is that one out of 10 times it does randomly work. And then when miracle of miracles you actually get a notification… The open gate button doesn’t work. One or the other. You can open the app without an intercom call and remotely open the gate from the app. Or you can receive a random intercom call. Even if you hang up the intercom call, the gate still won’t open via the app. This is one messed up piece of software. And if you’re trapped like me, held hostage by the investment in the BFT hardware - you are screwed. Run away!!!! ### 1/5 — Push notification doesn’t work *2021-01-05, version 1.4* You have to have the app open to get any notification from gate. Once you close the app it doesn’t notify you any more ### 1/5 — The Worst *2020-12-04, version 1.4* Does not stay connected. Does not allow you to close the gate. Does not allow timed gate opening and closing. Does not allow for full screen view of video- only thumbnail. Does not allow you to speak on intercom on a timely manner, causing visitors to leave thinking no one is answering. Does not work! Would not recommend to anyone. ### 1/5 — What a pile of c.... DO NOT choose this product. *2019-10-21, version 1.4* For almost 2 years now we have had problems with this gate controller / entry system, now it does not even work on the admin ipad. We have missed so many deliveries because it does not connect (even though we have hard wired the gate controller to the router with ethernet cable and the entry ipad is 2m away from the router) looks like we will inevitably have to chuck this system out and buy a new entry system from a manufacturer who actually gives a s... These guys should be done for miss selling as it does not perform the basic functions it is supposed to. About 12months ago they told me a new version was coming out but still not seen anything or even been contacted. ### 1/5 — Ringer functionality stopped working a few months ago *2019-09-07, version 1.4* We’ve had this app for a few years. We suspect that an iPhone update affected functionality of this app. The ringing (audible) tone no longer works, so we have no way of knowing that someone is at the gate pressing the button. No updates are available.... ### 1/5 — Terrible. *2019-08-28, version 1.4* Where to start? Probably with fact that it doesn’t work. It has now stopped coming through on my phone whether I’m connected via 4G or through my home WiFi. The app is as useless as it is dated which is very. No update in two years to an app that provides security to your home? That’s not good enough. I’m about to move home and would rather install a system that just calls through to a single door entry panel in the house than this system that is supposed to give you access even when you aren’t at home. I had a poor network so we struggled but as soon as that was addressed it has worked flawlessly!! Great gadget !! ### 4/5 — Would give it 5 stars if the app would be Landscape enabled *2017-08-24, version 1.4* Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because all my iPads are wall mounted and the app will not recognize landscape mode. We’re still not able to open the gate after having it 2 months. The keypad works perfect but app is limited. Also if someone is keying in the code there is no picture/video. Only when they press the call button does it store an image. (Always listening) That needs to be added to this. Although if you use the wifi pro 2 app you are not alerted to calls. Both apps are very amateur in design and not very "Apple like" I totally agree with the other review by djbarto. This app is letting down a great and expensive product. ### 2/5 — Doesn't work well on iPad, lacks polish *2017-05-30, version 1.4* Our iPad is wall mounted and the app doesn't recognize whether the device is in landscape or portrait orientation. Since our iPad is mounted in landscape orientation the app is almost unusable from an iPad. Also when someone rings the gate the notification message shows the Bell Identifier which is a cryptic slew of numbers and letters instead of the friendly human name I gave it ("back gate"). Overall the app doesn't feel very polished. The "delay" button is unclear what it does. There is no help.
