## What is Prepaid TWINT & other banks?

TWINT is Switzerland’s digital cash. With TWINT, you can make convenient and secure payments using your smartphone.

All TWINT functions:
- Send and request money
- Make quick and secure payments in online shops
- Buy digital vouchers, pay for your parking and make donations in TWINT+, directly in the app 
- Make convenient and secure payments at cash registers, in farm shops and vending machines
- Store customer loyalty cards and employee cards in the app
- Benefit from discount coupons and digital stamp cards

Switzerland’s biggest banks offer their own version of the TWINT app. Please search in the App Store for the name of your bank together with the term “TWINT”. 

Top up credit:
The TWINT prepaid solution can be used by everyone, regardless of at which bank your account is
- Top up via your bank account (direct debit)
- Top up via a deposit slip
- Top up via a voucher code

Security:
TWINT is as secure as e-banking. All transactions take place in a secure environment. TWINT also does not disclose any personal data to third parties.

The money is not stored directly on the smartphone. If your smartphone is lost or stolen, or if you suspect fraud, please follow the instructions at www.twint.ch/block.

It is convenient to know that there no insurance to cover you in case somebody access to your data, as we have in credit cards. Being victim of scam Twint will never be responsible and you will lose your money. Best case, a prepaid account with small amount of mo ey.

J’ai fait un compte en tant que frontalière avec un numéro français mais il n’est pas possible de mettre une adresse française et mon compte a donc été bloquée et je ne peux plus y accéder. C’est très dommage et est ce que quelqu’un pourrait régler le problème svp car je peux pas modifier mon adresse et je suis bloquée sur la page pour envoyer un mail et meme en désinstallant l’application elle se reconnecte automatiquement avec mon numéro et refait ce bloquage.

Très déçu par la décision d’exclure les résidents français, sans explication claire.
On pouvait utiliser TWINT Prepaid depuis des années, et du jour au lendemain, tout est bloqué.
Un frontalier peut travailler en Suisse, y avoir un compte bancaire, mais plus utiliser un moyen de paiement devenu essentiel.
En 2025, devoir revenir au cash, c’est simplement déplorable.
