## What is PrepNexus?

Study_Buddy001 helps you stay on track while preparing for certification and school exams. Build a daily study rhythm, review objective-based tasks, drill flashcards, and answer original practice prompts with explanations.

The included starter content is tuned for CompTIA A+ Core 1 220-1201, CompTIA A+ Core 2 220-1202, and CompTIA Security+ SY0-701. StudyBuddy includes an active exam picker, separate local progress for each exam, objective-based plans, randomized flashcards, 10-question short tests, randomized 90-question simulations, and PBQ-style matching and drag-to-order scenarios.

Study_Buddy001 stores progress locally on your device and does not require an account.

Study_Buddy001 is independent study software. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CompTIA. CompTIA, A+, and Security+ are trademarks of CompTIA, Inc.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.2 — 2026-08-06

Security improvements and bug fixes and name change.

### 3.0 — 2026-07-24

In this release it adds labs to the tab Learn and created simulated environments for each exam. Also bug fixes and improvements.

### 2.7 — 2026-07-23

Bug fixes and improvements.

### 2.6 — 2026-07-19

- Adds a dedicated Results tab with separate progress for A+ Core 1 220-1201, A+ Core 2 220-1202, and Security+ SY0-701.
- Shows latest score, readiness percentage, confidence average, PBQ average, score trend, objective results, and attempt history for each exam.
- Improves Quick Practice so the final screen shows score, percentage, a visual confidence signal bar, missed-question review, and a fresh targeted restart option.
- Filters Quick Practice through the active exam's objective domains so the 10-question set stays relevant to the selected exam.
- Makes Quick Practice reshuffle into a new batch when restarted or when difficulty changes.
- Makes Exam simulations use the selected difficulty, with the selected mode shown in the exam card and result record.
- Adds an AI Targeted Recovery Exam that prioritizes weak objectives based on saved attempt history.
- Improves confidence learning so StudyBuddy infers guessed, narrowed, and knew-it signals from answer behavior instead of asking the user to decide.
- Adds a Plan tab AI study target with daily minutes, suggested exam date, domain-by-domain time targets, and adaptive follow-up after completed topics.
- Adds first-time study defaults and baseline guidance: starter exam date, daily study target, and a prompt to take Quick Practice before StudyBuddy routes next steps.
- Adds hard achievements with progress bars and an animated congratulations overlay when an achievement is completed.
- Grays/zeros home dashboard readiness and progress signals until the user starts studying.
- Improves the study streak so it starts from actual study activity: completing a task, marking a flashcard, answering a question, or finishing an attempt.
- Removes the Learn > Labs section until true in-app lab simulators can be built.
- Reworks Learn > Sheets so cheat sheets open as readable in-app PDFs using PDFKit.
- Expands useful exam-readiness tips and difficulty-aware question generation for all three built-in exams.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-17

Version 1.4 makes practice tougher across A+ Core 1, A+ Core 2, and Security+. Quick practice now pulls from hard-only original question banks, exam simulations use harder PBQ-style items, distractors are more plausible, and the welcome screen now remains visible for about 5 seconds.
