Then it's very tricky to get the app to find the dots and whatnot. Gave up after five minutes. ### 2/5 — Octopus arms *2024-11-19, version 5.58.0* You need the arms of an octopus to use this app! ### 1/5 — Waste of time. *2024-10-09, version 5.56.0* Initially this is quite impressive. It does not correctly display the full URL so you have to look that up online. One installed the app seems to be working fine, so you do all the measurements and THEN at the very end it forces you to create an account and give them all your information. This failed after several attempts, keeps saying your password must be at least 8 characters but mine did meet the requirements, tried again and still not working. Half an hour wasted. Not happy. ### 1/5 — SECURITY RISK! *2024-08-23, version 5.53.0* As part of the process it gets you to show the back of your bank card to the camera, therefore allowing it to capture your card details, and ccv number. Only realised after the event and don't trust it is safe so have reported my card stolen. It didn't get my prescription right either. SPH came back as 1.25 when glasses are actually 0.5. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2024-08-23, version 5.53.0* I tried for an hour holding my card in the centre of the screen and nothing. Then on the one occasion it asks for glasses it times out and starts again. I have never been so frustrated in all my life ### 1/5 — Garbage *2024-08-02* I wasn’t able to get past the set up part. While it may work for a small laptin combination with your phone it sure struggles with a large desktop screen. Even moving to a smaller 20” screen your arms aren’t long enough to hold the magnetic card against the screen while trying to keep the 6 dots shown on that screen within the box shown on your phone. Even if you can manage that through some acrobatics then the same issue arises when trying to manage the dots through your glasses in the following scan. Suggestion to the developer: Please test your app with screens greater than 18” and I hope you can come up with a fix. I tried as a workaround to reduce the browser window but then the app wants a full screen. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work *2024-06-08* This app is really finicky. They really want you to use a card with a magnetic strip (like a debit card) for all of your size comparisons. Seems a little suspect to me, but I could just be reading too much into it. I wanted to see if the app can recognize. No matter how I tried to put the dots in the glasses, anytime and every time the app said the image is blurry! What a waste of time. ### 1/5 — “make sure the dots are visible on your mobile screen” over and over and over *2024-01-25* Really wanted to check prescription on some old pairs of glasses, but couldn’t get past the config stage where you awkwardly try to hold up a magnetic card between six dots. Had all the dots visible and the app just kept annoyingly saying the same message over and over. Hate this developer so much now Update: managed to get it to work on another monitor, except it wouldn’t let me log in to see the results. Tried it twice. Had an account created, but the website just hung with the loading icon. And logging in separately did not show a prescription on the account. **Developer response:** Hi There! However, it doesn’t give you the results, you have to get them on the website you connect to and 3 out of 4 times the site crashed resulting in me needing to restart the process. I would bin it don’t even bother unless you have 8 arms try to do everything they ask is virtually impossible. Let’s start off trying to position the card without all the dots visible as your hand gets in the way. So that’s the first annoying part then trying to do keep all the dots and hold your glasses and the trying to keep it vertical holding a phone and glasses in view is a nightmare absolutely ridiculous. Had to put one star as it won’t let give zero stars such an annoying and awkward app. Shame it would of been great if it wasn’t completely impossible to do it. I’d advise to put phone on a table or flat surface instead of holding in hand and tilt the computer screen down a bit. I’m amazingly surprised to see the accuracy of this piece of technology. ### 5/5 — Amazingly accurate *2024-04-25, version 5.43.4* I was dubious, had an optician check my prescription of these old glasses today but wasn’t convinced so wanted a second opinion. All the figures this app gave were almost identical to those from the in-person optician - I’d be confident about getting new glasses from this. Plus it gives very clear guidance during the process, e.g. “your glasses are too far away, hold them closer” and tells you when it’s right. Kudos to the team!! ### 5/5 — What?! *2022-03-12* I came across an add about this app and I said “why not?” expecting another scam that asks you to subscribe just to get the wrong prescription. Well clearly that wasn’t the case, the app gave me the exact prescription my eye doctor had previously prescribed! This is something I wasn’t expecting at all! Tech industry has come a long way indeed. I suggest you also check out the cool designs on the website if you’re in the market for a new pair of glasses. ### 5/5 — I’m shocked it worked *2021-11-19* My son needed new glasses and we weren’t hearing back from the eye doctor fast enough. His rx was current, we just needed access to it. I wasn’t able to use my glasses to test this (I know the rx to verify). My rx was too high to read lol. So i just went with what it gave me on here for his. It was excellent. The app was tricky to do, it took me about 30 minutes of Move your glasses closer to the camera/computer many. Many. Many times. Not sure if that was actually part of the process or I was just not steady enough. Either way I don’t care.
