## What is Presence Remote?

Presence Remote is the companion app for Presence on your Mac. Presence uses the Bluetooth signal from your iPhone or Apple Watch to tell whether you're at your desk: it locks your Mac when you walk away and unlocks it when you come back.

Free features
• Lock your Mac right away from your iPhone, Apple Watch, Control Center, Lock Screen, or the Action button
• Pause or resume automatic locking (unlock your iPhone first to pause or resume)
• See your Mac's status at a glance: whether you're nearby and whether it's locked
• Get notified when your Mac locks because you left, or when someone unlocks it while you're away
• Encrypted confirmation before unlocking: your Mac asks your iPhone to answer with the key created when you paired, so a spoofed Bluetooth signal alone can't unlock it
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Apple Watch complications, and Siri and Shortcuts actions

Presence Pro: Presenter Remote
Turn your iPhone and Apple Watch into a presentation clicker. No extra remote to buy, no receiver to plug in.
• Tap or swipe to change slides; jump to a slide, blank the screen, start and end the show
• Laser pointer, spotlight, and highlighter: wherever your finger moves on your iPhone, it appears on the projected screen
• Adjust your Mac’s volume when a video in your slides is too loud or too quiet
• Change slides from the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island, even when your phone is locked
• On Apple Watch, tap, turn the Digital Crown, or double tap
• Talk timer with a tap on your wrist at 5 minutes left and when time is up
• Walk on stage without your Mac locking the projected screen
• Works with popular presentation apps, slides in the browser, and PDFs

Presence Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription (both with a 7-day free trial) or a one-time purchase, and all three can be shared with your family. Subscriptions renew automatically; cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.

What you need

Privacy
Presence Remote collects no data and needs no account or internet connection. Your iPhone and Mac talk directly over Bluetooth, and every command is encrypted and authenticated. Purchases are handled by the App Store.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 0.3.3 — 2026-10-26

Improved
• Presenter Remote now supports iPhone Duo. When it’s closed, the controls move to the side so the slide area fills the screen. Held half open like a book, the timer is on the left and the buttons on the right, clear of the fold. Standing on a table, a large timer fills the top half and the buttons the bottom half

### 0.3.2 — 2026-10-25

Fixed
• After your Mac woke from sleep, your iPhone and Apple Watch often couldn’t connect to it and kept showing “No status from your Mac yet” until you paired again. They now reconnect on their own
• The same problem kept your Mac from receiving your iPhone’s encrypted confirmation, so it didn’t unlock automatically. That’s fixed too
• This works even before you update Presence on your Mac, but we recommend updating it to 0.3.2

### 0.3.0 — 2026-10-18

New in Presence Pro
• Laser pointer, spotlight, and highlighter: wherever your finger moves on your iPhone, it appears on the projected screen. Highlighter lines fade after a few seconds and clear when you change slides
• Adjust your Mac’s volume from your iPhone and Apple Watch

Also
• The Apple Watch presenter screen now has two pages: slides first, swipe left for volume
• Fixed Apple Watch sometimes showing the subscription screen by mistake
• The new features need Presence 0.3.0 or later on your Mac

### 0.2.1 — 2026-10-16

New: Presenter Remote (Presence Pro)
• Change slides, jump to a slide, or blank the screen from your iPhone and Apple Watch
• Change slides from the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, even when your phone is locked
• Talk timer with a tap at 5 minutes left and when time is up
• Your Mac won't auto-lock while you're on stage

Also
• Redesigned home screen with big Lock Now and Presenter Remote cards
• New app icon
• Presenter Remote needs Presence 0.2.0 or later on your Mac

### 0.1.1 — 2026-10-15

No release notes.
