### 5/5 — For Power Users

*2025-05-13, version 2.17.2*

If you care about correctness, completeness, efficiency—i.e. you’re a tech geek who typically spends a lot of time in the terminal —this mail app is for you.

### 5/5 — The best on iOS

*2025-04-28, version 2.17.2*

The only bad thing, there is no Mac app. I use this app daily. Awesome!

### 5/5 — This is the NASA of a personalized email app.

*2025-03-31, version 2.17.2*

The plethora of settings must be housed inside Mount Vesuvius.

### 5/5 — SKN

*2025-03-31, version 2.17.2*

Very Professional. Great app once you get to know how it works
Not for the faint of heart. Takes a lot of patience

### 5/5 — Indispensable Tool

*2025-02-23, version 2.17.2*

I’ve been using Preside for years and the app has become indispensable to my work flow. Moreover their tech support is top notch. They really do answer each and every request!

### 5/5 — For true power users

*2025-01-13, version 2.17.1*

This app lets you do things that no other mail app on iOS even attempts or cares about. If you’re a power user who wants to do complex things fast, you have no alternative

### 5/5 — Finally! Perfect email app supporting tags

*2024-08-14*

Perfect app with tons of settings.

I was specifically looking for an app supporting tags in Exchange. And this one is the only one in App Store doing it.

This app has a bit specific design, which is not so fancy like on all modern email apps. But it is ok - all modern email apps look like twins - absolutely same features, same settings, etc., only names are different. But this app is different.

### 5/5 — Most powerful iOS email app

*2024-08-01*

I love this app. It makes reviewing and filing email possible on iOS. It is incredibly customizable and does just what I want

### 5/5 — The only mail client you’ll need.

*2024-07-15*

I’ve been using Preside for the past couple of years and will never look back especially when it comes to mail clients on iOS.

It just works, the app collects no data from you, Rich the developer responds in a timely manner should you need any assistance & more importantly the app delivers all the features that you would expect from a email client (Except PGP keys) 😊

Other than that it beats all other iOS email clients hands down.

Keep up the good work Rich 👍🏾😃

### 5/5 — Excellent iPhone email app

*2024-06-11*

If you like “proper” email clients like MailMate on macOS you will love Preside on iOS. Highly customisable - as much or as little as you want. Actively maintained by an independent and responsive developer. Highly recommended - and almost all of the extensive functionality is free (with an option to support the developer if you wish). I would strongly encourage you to try it!

### 5/5 — Excellent app, great customer support

*2024-06-01*

I have used Preside as the app for my work email (Outlook / Exchange) on my iPhone since 2018. It's so much better then the iOS Mail app for handling lots of emails in folders, especially nested folders.

I recently upgraded to a newer iPhone and ran into a small glitch when getting Preside going on the new phone. I emailed Preside customer service, and within about 24 hours they responded with clear instructions that solved the problem. It's great to see a software company that stands behind its product, and offers such responsive customer service!

### 5/5 — Best email client functionality

*2024-02-12*

This is the best email app for iOS and iPadOS if you value flexibility and functionality over pure looks. While it looks a little old fashioned, it is incredibly easy to use and customise and the handling for folders (including for gmail labels) is exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Email organisation and responsive support

*2024-02-10*

I have used Preside for several years to organise my many email folders. It is quick and easy – with intuitive suggestions for quick filing. Just what I need. A real bonus is that if I ever need help, the response is fast, helpful and personal.

### 5/5 — How do use this for years ever since it first came out can’t live without it

*2023-08-12*

The name is absolutely perfect. This program presides over all of my files/folders. As an accountant I have many clients many folders, sub folders, categories. Trying to locate them on an iPad or iPhone takes far too much time. With Preside I just type in the first few letters of the folder and up it will pop. From this program, I can forward my emails, resend them, copy them, access them. I use Preside every day many MANY times. I tell all of my clients and friends and family about this wonderful program. The IT person for my office introduced it to me so many years ago and for that I am forever grateful!

### 5/5 — The ONLY file folder predictive software, anywhere.

*2023-06-19*

This software saves me hours each week.

I use it to clean up and file all emails that just need to be glanced , then use outlook if I need to be elaborate.

When travelling , this is my mobile office.

Have been using Preside and it’s predecessor Emailganizer for over 10 years

### 5/5 — Best of the best!

*2023-06-08, version 2.10.1*

IMHO Best mail app for business. Best Dev. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Not sure how I’ve missed this

*2023-05-26*

By all accounts this app has been on the App Store longer than I’ve had an iPhone.

If you’ve just found it, maybe you’re doing your regular, and seemingly endless, search for a mail app that will do what you want and doesn’t smother its failings in cool aesthetics.

If this is you, you’ve probably found what you need here. Preside is an excellent app. It demonstrates just what’s possible with these devices. It makes the phone feel like a computer doing actual computing, and you can see it in the myriad settings available. I look at it and wonder what other developers are doing with their time when something like this exists.

I started with my imap account and later added an MFA Office 365 account. The former was straightforward and the ease with which the latter got configured was a really pleasant surprise. EWS and everything, not ActiveSync (but you can if you want), and not imap (which you also can if you want).

Preside has class.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible interface, chaotic app

*2024-11-18, version 2.16*

They have different outdated layouts to choose from - Gee, thanks. How about you follow the latest iOS UI guidelines throughout the app? Buttons are often misplaced (cancel button), some interface symbols are pixelated, etc. Too bad, because the app shows real potential, but it needs to be rewritten from scratch.

### 1/5 — Ads

*2023-09-07*

It's too bad the ads they inject into your inbox view weren't mentioned, as I wouldn't have even bothered trying the app. If I wanted ads in my inbox, I'd use Google and save the $7/month, given they don't mention whether paying makes the ads go away or not.

That lack of transparency doesn't breed trust, so why on earth would I trust the developer with my email?

**Developer response:** Please note that you can disable the 'app suggestions', regardless of whether or not you purchase Premium. This is accomplished by tapping on the 'App suggestions' line in the 'Miscellaneous' section of the 'Behaviors' preferences.

Please also note that there is no lack of transparency here. Information about how to disable these advertisements is displayed if you tap on the Unsubscribe link near the bottom of the ad. There is also a FAQ about them, accessible both by a link next to the Unsubscribe link and an Info button near the top. The FAQ includes instructions on how to disable these app suggestions, as well as some other useful information.

Please also note that these app suggestions are not 'injected' into your Inbox. They only appear within Preside, and the frequency with which they appear can be configured, or, as previously noted, disabled altogether. This option is available to ALL users.

Please also note that the developer has no access to your email. All email information collected by Preside is stored locally on your device and nowhere else. Preside is fully private. No email information is ever transmitted to our servers, and the app doesn't collect any usage or analytics information.

Lastly, please note that virtually all of Preside's functionality is available to non-premium users.

I hope that, given this knowledge about how to disable the app suggestions, you'll give Preside another try. Please feel free to email us at: mail@preside.io with any questions, comments, or other feedback.

### 1/5 — Want to Use, but not Google sec Compatible

*2022-06-20, version 2.8.5*

I want to try the app, but I’m caught in a loop trying to setup a Google Workspace email (of which I have 10) and after going through google’s annoying security verification,Chrome to smartlock, I’m never taken back to Preside even if I’ve successfully allowed it via Google….so I’m caught in a loop. Preside isn’t aware that Google provided an access token.

I can’t lower my security just to use an email app, I don’t have these issues with any other email app.

### 2/5 — Problems Various Issues and Reindexing

*2023-02-18, version 2.9*

I’ve been using this as a secondary app since I focus on Android, Windows , and Apple OS for most of my email. However, I keep confronting issues like: layouts that interfere with the UI rather than support it, exclusive use of features that require a known message to be displayed before allowing movement to a different folder, full and partial directory listings from the listing of folders for various holiday sources and phone contacts, pagination (of index files possibly) that have to resynch when looking at All Vs each Account content in drafts taking significant time, and more. I continue to like the goal but the lack of search in the FAQ and manual (stated as outdated) limit help to asking rather than looking through avail sources. I’ll update this should I return to the app, right now it’s slowing and interfering with my email needs.

### 2/5 — Lacks a basic capability

*2020-06-09, version 2.4.12*

No option to disable download of remote images beyond switching to text only view. This option makes for unreadable messages. Other apps have this basic capability. Please add.

### 3/5 — .

*2020-04-19*

.

### 3/5 — Too much!

*2018-05-19, version 2.3.18*

The UI is way too busy for me! If you need everything available, and I mean everything, this is the app for you, but there's just too much going on for me (and I'm pretty demanding of an email client). I'll be back, i'm sure, after this is toned down a bit.

### 3/5 — nf315

*2017-02-12*

nice fonctionality but instable specially concerning folder list

### 4/5 — Very Good Email App

*2021-10-20, version 2.6.15*

I really like this app, even though it's not perfect. I'm using the free version right now for a trial run, so to speak. I haven't been using it very long. I would have given it 5 stars but I've noticed thewhen I send an email to the Junk folder, for some reason, if I get another similar email from the same sender it comes back to my Inbox instead of Junk. Maybe this doesn't happen with the paid version, I don't know. If that's the case I will purchase the Premium right away. I would really like to keep my inbox as Junk and Spam free as possible.

### 4/5 — Solid Email App, Could Be Great

*2020-08-28*

For years, I've wanted an email app that would download my entire email archive to my iPad and index it all. I had given up on that dream, and then I heard about Preside. That feature works *exactly* as I hoped it would, and its search easily beats every other email app I've tried. (I have over 70,000 emails in my twelve-year archive for the non-profit I work for, all in a plain vanilla IMAP account.) There are a few, small features lacking in this app (robust keyboard shortcuts, better handling of attachments, and automation—either via Shortcuts or a URL scheme), and if those were to be added, it would be a great email app.

It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the app on first launch, but all you need to do is take a little bit of time to explore the various settings. They also have a support page on their site that walks you through the options, and I found that very helpful. It took me a few weeks to get the app set up the way I wanted it to be.

I'm very happy that this app exists, and it's now my daily email driver.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best email client for multiple accounts and infinite folder management

*2026-07-17*

I have found Preside to be the only email client which easily manages multiple accounts and you can easily collapse and expand folders. You can easily file your emails in any of the folders in any account! Five stars from my side.

### 5/5 — Very nice app

*2026-07-08, version 2.18.2*

Been using just a day but impressed. It does the one thing I needed to do and that is combined emails into one single view from multiple folders in my mailbox so I don’t have to flip around im folder to folder.

### 5/5 — so far the Best!

*2026-06-17*

keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Quite frankly the best email app period!

*2026-05-13, version 2.18.2*

This app is quite frankly one of the best, if not the best, email apps on the app store. Yes it takes some time to setup but its so flexible and never breaks. Thanks you!

### 5/5 — So much better than any other

*2026-05-06*

There’s so much I love about this app, but the reason I decided to write a review today is because of one particular ability that it has.

Besides its elegance in providing me with a unified inbox across my (too) many email accounts, I love that I can save a search that shows me all the junk mail I’ve received, across all of my accounts, in one place. And then, with a couple of taps, I can delete all of those spam emails.

I am, by nature, disorganized. But Preside goes a long way toward helping me overcome some of that.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2026-01-27, version 2.18.2*

I’ve had all five minutes and I already love this thing

### 5/5 — Extraordinary Mail app

*2026-01-13*

I use PRESIDE every single day. It is literally the most flexible mail app. I have tried MS Outlook, the Apple Mail app, and none of them come close to PRESIDE. One of my strategies for “zero inbox” is to file emails quickly and move it out of my inbox into a sub-folder. I process about 200 emails a day. PRESIDE is the easiest mail app for moving emails out of the inbox into sub-folders. Plus, the developer is very responsive to customer support issues. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Kudos to the developers!

### 5/5 — It’s reliable

*2025-11-28*

I keep trying newer email programs but keep falling back to use this one. It does everything and has many different ways to deal with bloated emails…. Mine is in the 10’s of thousands going back more than 10 years of data.

### 5/5 — Top iOS app

*2025-09-27, version 2.18*

Like Mailmate on the Mac it is not that pretty but it’s a powerhouse in use. Used for years now never seen the need to use anything else.

### 5/5 — Preside is excellent!

*2025-08-20, version 2.17.2*

I stumbled on this app after getting terminally frustrated with every other email client. This app is extensively customisable to make it work how I do email. It is fast and it interacts natively with Outlook categories in a super easy to use manner. It has so many other good features and integrations too. It might be an older app but you should seriously take a look and do a few laps with it - it has a bit of learning curve - but I think you’ll find it becomes your favourite too.
