It just isn’t reliable. Fixing app this should be top priority for Presonus, because it makes some of their best features completely irrelevant. ### 3/5 — Very buggy *2023-02-24, version 3.2* Please update this app. It’s very inconsistent and does not work as well as it should. Great app in theory, just needs bugs worked out of it. ### 3/5 — Landscape mode *2022-09-06* My church has used this app for several weeks now with little issues. However, this past week, the levels for two separate mixes defaulted back to an unknown default setting and would not allow us to adjust levels until closing the app and reopening. This is a huge issue with live performances as several instruments in the mix suddenly change volume levels. In addition to this recent issue, several phones have not been able to use the landscape setting and therefore they cannot adjust levels at all. This is also a vital issue as the app is basically useless to those individuals. Please update this app and correct these bugs. I noticed it’s been 2 years since an update and reading through the reviews, these are common issues and my problem is by no means unique. ### 1/5 — No update ?? *2022-06-13, version 3.1* So now that i want to use my studio live RM32 AI The app on the iPad works. But the one on my phone to control the mix for each musician. Is not connecting to the mixer ,,, cant even see it on the iPhone app ? Presonus has a long way to go as far as integrating their gear with devices. Plus they are constantly changing the hardware without allowing cross generational usability. Having control over each instrument, vocal, or other channel to customize my monitor is a dream. In reality, ever since I upgraded to an iPhone 12 Pro, the screen won’t rotate for me to be able to adjust the levels of each channel, rendering the app mostly useless. My portrait lock isn’t on: other apps work just fine. This seems to be a programming glitch for this app specifically. If someone would fix that, this app would be a wonderful tool. ### 1/5 — Yikes *2020-10-20* We have an old studiolive 24ai and the app has always been terrible but I was hoping that the updated version of the app had gotten better since I’m shopping for a new board and was considering the series 3. I’m glad I looked at these reviews before I made my purchase. I’ll look into the Allen and Heath boards instead because I know they have great apps. Possible update needed? ### 1/5 — Hoped it would work *2020-04-06* Saw all the terrible reviews. Went ahead with StudioLive 24R purchase for QMix and other features. While most aspects of the 24R work fantastically, QMix is very underwhelming. I can assign mixes, see channel signals etc. all appears well except I can’t move the wheel of me and there is zero audio actually coming out of my phone. Latest updates, firmware, yada yada, no dice. Presonus gear has always been stellar. Not sure why they can’t figure this one out. Now worthless! ### 3/5 — Great App -Disastrous Battery drain *2020-01-01* Qmix -uc works very well but it is a severe battery drainer. Did a gig last night with it on iphone 10. Started with 95% battery charge and every other app purposely shut down so the phone resource would only be dedicated to using Qmix -uc. By the end if the gig my battery drained to 10% batter charge!!!! Other members in the group had similar results. Failures connecting, failures updating, failures launching. I can now only get the app to connect with an outdated version on an old Samsung tablet. My new iPhone and iPad will not connect. This is a deal breaker when it IS the control surface for the mixer. I’ve been using a 16R for 3-4 years with 2-3 band members using the Qmix app to control their IEM mixes. As long as you use a stable WiFi router, the entire setup is as solid as it gets. The Qmix app is super handy and well thought out. Selecting the channels that are “Me” so that you can simply use the Me/Band balancing wheel in portrait mode is genius. Don’t hesitate to jump into the Studiolive ecosystem. ### 5/5 — This is good! *2024-05-16* I use the 32R and this is a fantastic way of giving your IEM users control of there mix. I could have gone the Behringer route for headphone mixers, this is so much better. Studio 192/DP88 combinationation gives me 8 stereo headphone mixes and I only need a stereo TRS female at each station. I have never had a problem. You'll need a reliable wifi router. I recommend your router is dedicated to the system and not connected to the internet, only so that musicians' phones don't start playing notification sounds during a take.
