It is filled with videos to give you more insight of what the passage is discussing and it reads you the scripture! I have always enjoyed it and felt it was a "good" app. However, the latest update has truly taken the experience to another level. I especially like the videos throughout the text adding clarification. Navigating is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It took me a little bit to learn how to navigate through but with so much to offer, I can understand why. My favorite is the video commentary opening up scripture to better understanding. I highly recommend this app. I feel like this is exactly what I was looking for for my personal Bible study. Thank you so much for all of your hard work putting this together. The aesthetics, commentaries and feel of the app works wonders in keeping the reader engaged. Out of my years in ministry, this is one of the better resources I have found. Thank you for quality and hard-work. From what I have read so far, the content of the commentaries also seem Biblical and accurate, but I have yet to go through them all. I would love for you guys to come out with an Old Testament version, yet I know that takes time. I look forward to continue using this and seeing how the Lord uses you guys to impact this generation. Those of you looking for a Bible app (it's NLT version by the way), you won't be disappointed. Save space or delete apps on your phone to make room for your favorite NT books of the Bible. Hoping James will be available soon, hint hint ### 5/5 — Best app ever to help understand Gods Word!!!!! *2015-07-02, version 1.8.5* I am a youth minister in OH and I absolutely love this app. I have recommended it to everyone and I am seeing kids who would never read the bible check this app out. It simple, amazing, great graphics, and commentary on the "simple phrases" a Christian might understand; but someone reading the bible for the first time might not. He was an amazing Christian, and I later found out he had created this app!! I was so surprised because I have had this app for a while. All my friends love how simple and easy it is to use, the beautiful design, and the passion for Christ it shows. I wish you all the best! and thank you for making this amazing app ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — I do not like the updates at all. *2021-09-14, version 2.5* I am so very disappointed with the new updates to this app. It has made it less accessible to learning styles. I loved the way it was before that you could listen while you read and RIGHT THERE IN THE TEXT THERE WAS A VIDEO. If you didn’t understand something. Trying to go back and find the videos now is almost impossible because you have to scroll through all of the book to find one and hope that’s the one, and some aren’t there anymore. Some audio isn’t available either. I used to love this app. And it was so incredibly helpful in helping me read and meditate on the word as I’m mostly a auditory learner and sometimes struggle with processing some things. I’m sure there was reasons for changing the design, but it’s not as useful to me now. ### 1/5 — Heresy- Plus "Engaging" elements fail. *2014-11-29, version 1.7* If you are a follower of Christ and have previously read the Word you will notice the Heresy in the Video Commentaries. Each one tries to introduce subtle false teachings or tries to contradict the Gospel message or the Deity of Jesus or the Agreement between the Gospels. Test the Spirits! No, Jesus did not have a sin nature. However, that has not stopped the Christadelphians from teaching He did. This is not surprising considering they deny the doctrine of the Trinity and the deity of Jesus. As with all non-Christian cults that deny the true doctrine of God, other doctrines necessarily become incorrect as well. In this case, their error is that Jesus has a sin nature. This is just one example. BEWARE. Love you all! ### 2/5 — 😞 *2019-01-30, version 2.1.6* It's a beautiful concept but it is not working. I was ready to do some Bible study and excitingly remembered this app which I absolutely loved! I decided to re-download it and the updates are so disappointing. This app was so unique and set apart from all other Bible apps I have ever downloaded. I used to love how you could read and conveniently watch a video down the line during the reading to get some more insight on the verses. Now there is a separate Bible section from the videos and it makes studying less convenient and not as interesting. I’m not sure why the change was made but I’m sure I and many others wish it didn’t take place. This is my first review ever on the App Store and unfortunately I am very disappointed. Please bring the old app back! ### 3/5 — FINALLY!!!! *2016-08-26, version 1.8.8* I have loved Press Bible, but there were areas where the app was very limited. This update is what I think many people have been a waiting for. Great images, video commentary, and interested to see what this chat feature can do... Great work guys. Thank you for all the hardwork, effort, time & planning that was put into this app. I totally have been recommending this app to all my buddies and fellow classmates here in Australia. But the reasons why i didnt give it a full 5 star was because it crashes often and the books I download do not stay downloaded for a very long time. As a matter of fact, I have had to download one book multiple times within the span of a day. The press bible is in the NLT, I prefer ESV or NASB but that's just me being picky.
