## What is PriceLog?

PriceLog is not just another expense tracker. It is a *personal price logbook* for the everyday items you buy again and again.

For groceries, household goods, drinks, pet supplies, and other repeat purchases, the important question is often not just "How much did I spend?" It is:
- Is this more expensive than last time?
- Is the larger size actually cheaper?
- Did the package get smaller while the price stayed the same?
- Is this store usually a better deal?
- Is today's price low, normal, or high for me?

PriceLog helps you answer those questions by converting each purchase into a standard *unit price*, such as per 100g, per 100ml, or per item. As your records grow, each product builds its own reference price history with recent purchase price, lowest unit price, highest unit price, and price trend.

When the shelf price stays the same but the package gets smaller, the real unit price goes up. PriceLog helps you spot this kind of *shrinkflation* in your own purchase history by tracking both quantity and unit price over time.

The goal is simple: help you build a personal reference price list for the things you buy often. PriceLog does not scold you into spending less. It helps you remember what a fair price looks like.
