It gives price history, alerts, you can set your alerts for certain prices. However as of recent I have not received my gift cards and my emails to customer support go unanswered. I redeemed my coins in October and it’s now December and the email is a no show. Usually the gift card email arrives in about 5 business days. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2022-11-07, version 2.82* I’ve been with this app for years now. I didn’t mind when they made it harder to earn coins and therefore earn gift cards - I expected that honestly. But like everyone else, I went to redeem my coins recently - it’s been 2 weeks and I haven’t received the gift card. I emailed last week to inquire and haven’t heard back (like everyone else). I’d be ok with you guys not offering the gift card, the other part of the app is useful most of the time, but at the very least get back to people when they contact you. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2022-10-26, version 2.82* It’s nice to receive the alerts that items I’m interested in have decreased in price. It’s not always accurate, however. It’s disappointing to have had downgrades on many of the chances to earn coins and also then suddenly have them change to a negative balance of -2500. It’s nice when it works, but it really isn’t reliable. I did reach out to support, but didn’t receive a reply. Thanks for a free service. But if you want something you can count on, you might want to turn to an app with a fee attached. ### 2/5 — Poor description *2022-10-08* US / Canada only, and Amazon only. I wouldn’t have wasted my time downloading if they made it clear in the description ### 3/5 — Changes not so great *2022-06-14, version 2.82* This used to be a great app, now it’s just a good app. It does show you average prices of things you are interested in purchasing. It gives you an idea if you should purchase now, or if you can wait, wait to see if the price goes down. You used to be able to get bonus points every 3 hours, now it’s only every 8 hours. The purchase bonus points have been reduced as well. When you redeem points for the $10 gift card, you are supposed to see it within 48 hours. My last 4 redemptions have taken up to a week, and most of the time I have to contact their customer service to get it. Very frustrating!!! I don’t purchase through the app anymore because of this. ### 2/5 — Recent changes make me hardly open the app *2022-05-02, version 2.82* Used to be in this app every few hours to make sure I got the bonus. This app was recently updated to only allow the bonus every 8 hours instead of every 3. This combined with now the biggest prize I’ve got has only been 3 coins (used to get up to about 7) makes me almost never open the app. Still use occasionally to track prices, but now only open it once a day at most. ### 2/5 — Was a decent app… *2022-04-22, version 2.82* It was a decent app until they changed the amount of time required before “opening boxes” to get new coins (now 8 hours?!?) and the ridiculous amount of times it takes for “pending” coins to become useful (months, plural). If it stays like this there is basically no point in trying to earn gift cards through the app with this feature. Either return it to the way it was previously or just get rid of this feature altogether. Will update review if fixed ### 4/5 — Useful app with a geocities-level-of-busy interface *2021-07-07, version 2.68* Handy app, especially for those who buy foods, cleaning products, and other items that need occasional replenishment. You can watch for price drops, timing your buys to maximize your savings. The home page looks like an old geocities web page created by a hyperactive Coke addict. There are videos, bouncing graphics, spinning wheels, etc, all going at the same time. Took off a star for the deceptive wheel you “spin” to gamble away points you’ve accrued. Although the wheel has equal-sized sections to make you think you have equal chances of stopping on any given section, it’s rigged. Your chances of it stopping on the big win section are much lower than the graphic would suggest. ### 3/5 — Cool *2021-07-07, version 2.68* This is pretty cool! Will have to update after I’ve used it a while. UPDATE: so I’m still really enjoying this, by & large. However, when I upload an item from Amazon’s app into this app, the price is wrong OCCASIONALLY. There’s an option to “report incorrect price,” but nothing happens when I click it. What’s that about? PS: and now the app won’t give me the coins it says can be earned by posting a review on the App Store. So I’m taking away ANOTHER star. Hmm, maybe it’s not the best app after all…. ### 4/5 — Price pulse *2021-06-28, version 2.68* I’m enjoying this app for the most part, bt I have 2 complaints: 1) it keeps closing down & kicking me out , causing me to start all over again. 2) I think some of these prices are over-inflated, making the lower price seem like a great deal. I’m sorry, bt I doubt there’s melatonin for $72 & if there is & if there are ppl who pay that much for, you’re being duped! Other than these 2 issues, I’ve liked the fairly well & would suggest giving it a try 😊 ### 3/5 — Good app. Could be great with some tweaking. *2021-06-14, version 2.66* PricePulse does what it claims to do…kind of. More often than not, notifications about price drops are just wrong. “This item is it’s lowest price ever.” But the graph on the item’s page shows that that is false. Lots of situations like that. You do get notified when there are price drops. You just can’t rely on the notification to accurately describe the price drop. Another annoyance is the lack of global settings for things you can set on individual settings. For instance, I want to mark everything on all of my lists as “free shipping only.” I can’t do that. I have to do that on a per-item basis, which seems great until you remember your wishlist of 200 books. Just a global toggle for anything that you can edit on individual items to set that flag for everything all at once would be nice. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No Longer Works *2024-09-27* I tried uninstalling and re-installing the app and still get a “no connection” error, even though I’m online and other apps work fine. So, looks like this app is kaputz! ### 1/5 — A-Mazing - Not Anymore *2024-04-21* What did I ever do before this app?! It’s incredible. Don’t get me wrong, if you need something NOW, you’re going to pay, regardless of the price. But if there’s something you want, and are waiting for the best price, this is your App. This saved me a lot of money over the Holidays and continues to let me know when all of my watched items drop in price or, even better, reach their lowest price ever. 2024 Update: It appears this app is no longer being supported. I was logged out from Facebook and unable to log back in. Lost all my points. Started a new account with Apple, but couldn’t import any wishlists. The prize box is now only revealing zero points. Sent several emails to the developers. A year is so ago I’d have gotten a response. But now they go unanswered. Time to move on I guess. ### 1/5 — Didn’t give me my Amazon gift card *2023-03-21* After getting 1000 coins I redeemed, but didn’t get my Amazon gift card. ### 1/5 — Don't waste your time! *2023-03-17* Anytime I have a challenge, buy an item of any price and receive so many coins, they never come through except the first time. That's how they hook you. After that, you get anywhere between one and five coins, and I forgot about it for months because it just isn't happening! This morning, I tried to do another challenge, stupid me, I thought they'd actually give me the coins. They aren't pending, nor are they in my available coins. I checked the balance before I did the challenge, and it's the exact same. They scam you into buying things, and I'm pretty sure they're getting money for whatever we place orders for through them, but we are getting nothing. There are complaints of people not getting their gift cards too. Support is a joke! I've written support tickets a couple of times about this, and have received zero communications back. ### 1/5 — Rewards *2023-02-02, version 2.82* Beware of this app. They claim to issue a reward when you redeem 1000 points. Then they make it so you need 1100 points to redeem. Once you reach 1100 points and redeem the 1000 necessary they totally ignore you. Even if you text them and remind them that you didn’t receive anything and you diligently check your email and spam mail they still ignore. At this point I can only recommend people to stay away from this app. They collect information on you and play you for a fool. ### 1/5 — Not receiving the $10 gift card anymore *2023-01-31, version 2.82* The price drop alerts though often late and sometimes inaccurate are still helpful at times and hence at-least the 1 star. I used to receive the $10 gift cards on redeeming the 1000 coins earlier but not anymore. They also increased the intervals from 3 hours to 8 hours to open the mystery box. Anyway, after the multiple emails I have sent them and never receiving a response now I realize that this app is nothing but a waste of time. ### 1/5 — Never received my gift card *2022-11-24, version 2.82* I’ve been using this app for quite awhile now & have always given a 5 star review….until now. It’s been about 8 weeks now since I have redeemed my coins & no gift card as yet. I have messaged you from the support link on the app 4 times since then & I have not had a response as yet. Any other time I’ve used the support link, I have received a response in a timely manner, not any longer. I like being notified of price reductions so I keep the app & keep adding coins. I’ve never experienced this issue with you in the past but now I see by reading the reviews that others have the same problem. I also sent an email through the “feedback” link in the app. I really enjoyed this app but now I see it’s not as good as it once was. Should this issue be resolved, I will update my review. ### 1/5 — Downhill *2022-11-17, version 2.82* This app used to be one of my favorites. As time went on though, it completely went downhill. The amount of coins you “earned” from using their app, significantly dropped making it next to impossible to earn a gift card. I finally got to the coveted 1,000 coins and redeemed them for a gift card over a month ago and I never received it. I have reached out to them three times via their “contact us” link and never heard back. My love for this app has also gone downhill. Now they raised the time you can login from three hours to eight hours. Which is fine however it’s two times now that I reach the magic echelon for my gift card, requested it etc. never received it. I can excuse one time. But if it happens twice these guys are now getting of all of our purchases and not paying us back for the effort. Too bad it was a great idea. The developers have changed the rewards system so much they are the only ones that benefit from your buying power. Daily rewards are limited to sub five coin limits, frequency of coin rewards is reduced by 75% , rewards for buying scales back five times, so if you try and use this app to get your own rewards you will be lucky to get ten bucks a year when I used to get ten bucks a month. The cost analysis tool is still awesome but without rewards I’ll find something else to use. I do like the features but all the effort of purchasing from the app to get nothing. I’ll keep usong the app occasionally. But I am certainly not going to bother with coins and purchases from now on. Two stars because I believe they make you waste time. But the price history and notifications pf price drops makes them not deserve a 1 start review. I would have given them 5 starts if I had received the gif card. Edit: I stand corrected. And here are the 5 stars. I received the gift card just now. That changes this from my previous review. The app works perfectly and would highly recommend.
