## Most critical reviews (9 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2025-08-18, version 1.5.0*

The app was unreliable around 1 time in 4 in finding my i35 Prisma on the network. After I did a factory reset on the i35 (which also started misbehaving) the app hasn’t worked at all. It can’t find the i35 even when I’m airplaying to it on the same phone. A re-install made no difference

### 1/5 — Unreliable app

*2023-05-22, version 1.4.0*

The app is not stable and reliable to work with.
It stops showing my amp after few minutes of use and I have to remove it and install again with the hope that the next time it will work longer than few minutes.

### 1/5 — Abysmal Hires streaming

*2023-03-05, version 1.3.9*

This thing just locks up regularly and completely with Qobuz. I have a fiber connection and the device is 3 meters from my router. Very poor. They just have not properly integrated Qobuz.

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2025-02-02, version 1.4.9*

It’s fine when it works A though not very slick and looks unimpressive. But often it won’t connect so one has to plug and unplug the NP5. I’m starting to use my Apple TV to steam music as it works far better even though the audio quality isn’t as good.
It needs a complete rewrite - very disappointing as the streamer is pretty pricey.

### 2/5 — Airplay compression?

*2022-11-07*

Posted this to Primare’s website helpdesk last week but no reply to date:

When I stream music from by Apple iPad (IoS version 15.7) to Prisma via airplay, the Prisma IoS app (latest version) reports that the bit rate of the stream is only 256 kbps, although I am streaming from lossless sources. Examples: streaming ALAC files from my local library via the JRiver app (set to stream without compression) and from the Radio Paradise IoS app with audio quality set to ALAC. Could this be a glitch hanging over from times when Apple only supported lossy AAC files? Is the music somehow being compressed by Prisma? My I15 is connected to my local network via ethernet, not WiFi, not sure if that is relevant. Thanks.

### 2/5 — Excellent quality

*2022-07-23, version 1.3.9*

The quality of streaming is excellent.

### 3/5 — Functional but could be better

*2025-12-20*

Where’s TIDAL Connect?

### 3/5 — Love & Hate Relationship…

*2024-11-17*

Love the build and sound quality of the Primare SPA25 integrated Amp, but hate the lack of the app commonly available features below:

1). No DSP control/selection in the app
2). No Subwoofer level level control
3). No EQ or Tone Controls
4). No ability to see the sound parameter currently in use
5). No Ability to adjust speaker levels, albeit a minor gripe

Hoping that the app gets a makeover soon as it is the main contact between a user and the product which can define the experience. In a fast-moving digital world, it’s a must. I recall in one of the YouTube videos from Terry that “you don’t need a large display on the amp because you have the app,” but currently, we still need to see the display (for now).

### 4/5 — Needs Apple watch support

*2020-05-21*

Please add Apple Watch to your app!
